chatanga1 Posted April 12, 2019 Report Share Posted April 12, 2019 ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ Dohira ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਦਤ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੁਤੋ ਗੋਖਾ ਨਗਰ ਮਝਾਰ ॥ In the city of Gokha Nagar, there was a Raja named lndra Datt. ਕੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਰਾਨੀ ਰਹੈ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੧॥ Kanj Prabha was his wife; she was extremely pretty.(1) ਸਰਬ ਮੰਗਲਾ ਕੌ ਭਵਨ ਗੋਖਾ ਸਹਿਰ ਮੰਝਾਰ ॥ The temple of goddess, Sarab Mangla, was in Gokha city. ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਰਾਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸਭ ਤਿਹ ਕਰਤ ਜੁਹਾਰ ॥੨॥ Here all, high and low, the Raja and the subject used to pay their obeisance.(2) ਚੌਪਈ ॥ Chaupaee ਤਾ ਕੇ ਭਵਨ ਸਕਲ ਚਲਿ ਆਵਹਿ ॥ ਆਨਿ ਗੋਰ ਕੌ ਸੀਸ ਝੁਕਾਵਹਿ ॥ All used to walk to the place to bow their heads, ਕੁੰਕਮ ਔਰ ਅਛਤਨ ਲਾਵਹਿ ॥ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕੋ ਧੂਪ ਜਗਾਵਹਿ ॥੩॥ They would put sacred marks on their foreheads along with burning assorted essence.(3) ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ Dohira ਭਾਂਤਿ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਦੈ ਪ੍ਰਕ੍ਰਮਾ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਸਿਰ ਨ੍ਯਾਇ ॥ They would circumambulate in various forms and pay their obeisance. ਪੂਜ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਕੌ ਭਵਨ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਸੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਇ ॥੪॥ After offering prayers to the goddess Bhawani, they would return to their homes.(4) ਚੌਪਈ ॥ Chaupaee ਨਰ ਨਾਰੀ ਸਭ ਤਹ ਚਲਿ ਜਾਹੀ ॥ ਅਛਤ ਧੂਪ ਕੁੰਕਮਹਿ ਲਾਹੀ ॥ Men and women would walk to the place burning incense and sprinkling saffron. ਭਾਂਤਿ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕੇ ਗੀਤਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ਸਰਬ ਮੰਗਲਾ ਕੋ ਸਿਰ ਨਯਾਵੈ ॥੫॥ They would recite Sundry songs to appease goddess, Mangal.(5) ਜੋ ਇਛਾ ਕੋਊ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਧਰੈ ॥ ਜਾਇ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਭਵਨ ਉਚਰੈ ॥ What ever they wished for in their minds, they would go and express to Bhawani. ਪੂਰਨ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਬਾਲ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਜਾਨਤ ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ॥੬॥ And Bhawani would gratify all, the young and the old.(6) ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ Dohira ਫਲਤ ਆਪਨੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਯਾ ਮੈ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ Whatever one would wish for, one would get it accomplished ਭਲੋ ਭਲੋ ਕੋ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਬੁਰੋ ਬੁਰੇ ਕੋ ਹੋਇ ॥੭॥ Whether it was good, bad or in any other form.(7) ਚੇਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਟਮੀ ਕੇ ਦਿਵਸ ਉਤਸਵ ਤਿਹ ਠਾਂ ਹੋਇ ॥ On the Ash tmi day of the month of Chet (Marchi April) there would be held a festival, ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਰਾਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਘਰ ਮੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੮॥ And none, the high, the low, the ruler and the subject, would stay back at home.(8) ਚੌਪਈ ॥ Chaupaee ਦਿਵਸ ਅਸਟਮੀ ਕੋ ਜਬ ਆਯੋ ॥ ਜਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਏਕ ਰਾਨਿਯਹਿ ਭਾਯੋ ॥ Once on the day of Ashtmi, Rani met a traveller, ਤਾ ਸੌ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਤ ਮਨ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ ਘਾਤ ਏਕਹੂੰ ਹਾਥ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੯॥ She felt like having sex with him but she could not get the opportunity, (9) ਯਹੈ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥ ਜਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਹ ਪਿਛਵਾਰ ਸਦਾਯੋ ॥ With this in mind, she thought of a plan to call the traveller at the back of the place. ਤਾ ਸੋ ਘਾਤ ਯਹੈ ਬਦਿ ਰਾਖੀ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਰਾਵ ਜੂ ਤਨ ਯੌ ਭਾਖੀ ॥੧੦॥ She discussed the strategy, of how to deal with Raja, in her mind.(10) ਜਾਨਸਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਪਿਛਵਾਰੇ ਆਵਾ ॥ ਬਦਿ ਸੰਕੇਤਿ ਯੌ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਾਵਾ ॥ ‘When he had come at the back of the house, I would, candidly, announce, ਸਖਿਯਹਿ ਸਹਿਤ ਕਾਲਿ ਮੈ ਜੈਹੋ ॥ ਪੂਜ ਗੌਰਜਾ ਕੌ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਐਹੌ ॥੧੧॥ “Next day I will come back after performing undefiled prayer.”(11) ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ Dohira ਜੋ ਕੋਊ ਹਮਰੌ ਹਿਤੂ ਤਹ ਮਿਲਿਯੋ ਮੁਹਿ ਆਇ ॥ “If any of my lovers wanted to meet me, should come there.” ਭੇਦ ਰਾਵ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਲਹਿਯੋ ਮੀਤਹਿ ਗਈ ਜਤਾਇ ॥੧੨॥ Raja could not resolve the mystery but the lover grasped.(l2) ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥ Savaiyya ਰਾਨੀ ਪਛਾਨੀ ਕਿ ਮੰਦਰ ਕੇ ਪਿਛਵਾਰੇ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੋ ਖਰੋ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ Rani acknowledged that her benefactor was present at the back of the temple. ਚਾਹਤ ਬਾਤ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਕੁਚੈ ਤਬ ਕੀਨੀ ਹੈ ਬੈਨਨਿ ਮੈ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥ He wanted to talk to her but he was hesitant. ਪੂਛਿ ਸਖੀ ਅਪਨੀ ਮਿਸਹੀ ਉਤ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੇ ਕੋ ਐਸੀ ਸਹੇਟ ਬਤਾਈ ॥ Through her maid she told him the place where she would be waiting ਸਾਥ ਚਲੌਗੀ ਹੌ ਕਾਲਿ ਚਲੌਗੀ ਮੈ ਦੇਬੀ ਕੌ ਦੇਹੁਰੋ ਪੂਜਨ ਮਾਈ ॥੧੩॥ (For him) next day after the prayer.(13) ਚੌਪਈ ॥ Chaupaee ਯੌ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੋ ਕਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥ ਮੀਤਹਿ ਉਤੈ ਸਹੇਟ ਬਤਾਈ ॥ Without keeping Raja in dark, she had conveyed the meeting place to the friend saying, ਭਵਨ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਕੇ ਮੈ ਜੈਹੋ ॥ ਪੂਜਿ ਮੰਗਲਾ ਕੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਐਹੋ ॥੧੪॥ ‘I will go there for Bhawani’s prayers and then, after that I will be at that place.(l4) ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ Dohira ਜੋ ਕੋਊ ਹਮਰੋ ਹਿਤੂ ਤਹ ਮਿਲਿਯੋ ਮੁਹਿ ਆਇ ॥ ‘Who-so-ever is my lover, may come and meet me there.’ ਭੇਦ ਕਛੂ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨ ਲਖਿਯੋ ਮੀਤਹਿ ਗਈ ਜਤਾਇ ॥੧੫॥ She conveyed the message to the lover, But Raja could not comprehend.(l5) ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਰਾਨੀ ਉਠੀ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਮੀਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਗੌਨ ॥ Communicating like this, the Rani went to the place where lover was, ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਿਤ ਚਿਤ ਭਯੋ ਗਈ ਸਿਵਾ ਕੇ ਭੌਨ ॥੧੬॥ But the Raja was happy that she had gone to offer the prayers.(l6)(1) ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਅਠਾਸੀਵੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੮੮॥੧੫੫੩॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥ Eighty-eighth Parable of Auspicious Chritars Conversation of the Raja and the Minister, Completed with Benediction.
