Urgent Question

Recommended Posts

In bani there are headings to a shabad like Dhanasri mahalla 5 Ghar 12

Now I know the mahalla 5 = mahalla panjvaa

But how are we supposed to pronounce the Ghar 12 as barvaan or baraa?

And does this apply to all of the GGS, or only certain parts?

I have been finding people who say both, so I have know idea which is right, can someone please if they do not know ask one of the Singhs who teach santhiyaa. Many Thanks!!!!!

i have taken santhiya on how to read the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, but dnt fully understand why most things are the way they are. When you read anything with Ghar in front of it, you alwez read it as pehla, dooja, teeja, etc, barvaa in ur example. But in one or two places in the Baani, it comes up as, lets say for example:

Raamkali Mehalla 5 Ghar 5 Ke

In this instance, you would read it as Raamkali Mehalla Panjvaa, Ghar PANJVE Ke, but this only happens two or three times throughout the Baani of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, but I just thought I'd mention it.
