The suls have written 'Islam will rule' in large graffiti on a railway bridge right next to Ramgarhia Gurdwara, obviously as an act of provocation and the damn committee have done nothing about it, it's been up there for quite a while. I guess we are a cowardly community now. Lots of infighting but haven't got the bottle to paint over this graffiti. The sign for the same Gurdwara on the main Stoke Poges Lane road has also been deliberately changed to point in the wrong direcrion, no doubt the work of suls again. I remember back in the 90s apne threw a pig's head in a mosque as retaliation for them burning the Nishan Sahib, where has that fighting spirit gone?

These damn committee members were smashing each others cars a few years ago over elections so they have thugs in their midsts, so why can't these thugs do anything about this graffiti?

Any suggestions on what could be done?

there's too many Kenya Singhs in those kinda gurdwaras, really chummy chummy with the goras and politicians, fixo the beards to the max and younger generations just trimming it instead of getting into the fixo malarkey, lack of open beards and turbans you can take off like hats, don't make for intimidating or annakhi singhs. I heard that pakistanis try to pickup girls from the Slough Ramgharia gurdwara.  They need to join with the other 2 gurdwaras in Slough to help them out, they can't act like the elders did where they split from the Singh Sabha gurdwara because they were too aggressive, now is the time to use that aggression.  And the Guru Maneyo Granth gets nationwide sangat on Sundays, so just use those numbers in Slough!

in these gurdwaras, gyanis and sewadaars are known by the regular sangat, and regular sangat is close knit. Activities and panjabi schools are also good as most of the same children come.

In both areas, I don't like the lack of cooperation between Ramgharia and Singh Sabha gurdwaras. Overall it's a benefit to have gurdwaras in at least 2 different locations in big towns and cities. But it's bad if they don't cooperate, especially in major issues that Khalsa is known for. Ramgharia gurdwaras like to rep up Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgharia, with the Slough gurdwara even having a statue. But the lack of keeping Khalsa rehit, looking too scared and cowardly to keep full beards or open beards, not acknowledging the Khalsa Nihang Singh mentality of Jassa Singh and being stuck in the kenya Singh mentality, not even willing to read Chaupai Sahib properly during Rehras, and many of these Ramgharia gurdwaras are not even willing to keep basic rehit of allowing sitting on the floor for langar and allowing shoes inside as well, all these behaviours aren't working for chardi kala of the panth!

It's like they are trying to keep their own type of sikhi, it's not even a tradition, just being stuck in their own box, they are not in the colonial British army, or serving in the world wars, or making train tracks or some other jobs for the gora, why do they behave this way, this archaic stuff in gurdwara? And doesn't do justice to Jassa Singh Ramgharia, who would have been a rehitee Nihang Singh, annakhi Singhs who defeated the enemies and kept in the brotherhood of the Khalsa with the other misls, even after their whole misl was excommunicated expelled from the panth, they still rejoined the Khalsa and helped defeat the enemies! I don't see them trying to integrate with the rest of the panth in the ramgharia gurdwaras, not like Jassa Singh, obviously it's the elders who instil these mentalities, with some of the youngsters trying to connect back into sikhi!

Slough remains among towns with highest Sikh population, census shows

By James Moules@jamesmoulesLocal Democracy Reporte

Slough remains a town with among the largest Sikh communities in the country, census data has confirmed.

The figures from the 2021 census showed that Slough was home to 3.4 per cent of England and Wales’ Sikh population, with 11.3 per cent of people in the borough listing it as their religion.

It also had the largest proportion of the country’s Sikh population outside of either Greater London or the West Midlands.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) report from December 15 that introduced the findings reads: “Most people who identified as Sikh lived in England, with 521,805 residents in England who identified as Sikh.

“There was also a larger proportion of people who identified as Sikh in England (0.9 per cent of the population of England) than Wales, where 4,065 people identified as Sikh (0.1 per cent of the population of Wales).”

The data further found that more than one in four people identifying as Sikh in England and Wales live in the West Midlands, with Sandwell holding the highest portion of the Sikh population at 7.5 per cent.

Sikhs represented the fourth largest religious group in Slough at the 2021 census, behind Christians at 32 per cent of the town’s population, Muslims at 29.4 per cent and those reporting no religion at 13.1 per cent.

The percentage of Slough’s population identifying as Sikh has grown to 11.3 per cent from 10.6 per cent at previous census in 2011.

The ONS report also found that home ownership rates across England and Wales were higher among the Sikh population at 77.7 per cent than average of 62.7 per cent.

The county’s Sikh population also made up the majority of Panjabi speakers in England and Wales, with 63.9 per cent of speakers identifying as Sikh.

The report adds: “The most common main language for people who identified as Sikh was English (English or Welsh in Wales) at 62.1%, compared with 91.1% of the England and Wales population.

“The second most common main language for people who identified as Sikh was Panjabi (36.6%). In comparison, only 0.5% of the England and Wales population reported Panjabi as their main language.”

The problem Slough has is that it is a large town just outside of London. Anyone who can’t afford to or has had enough of living in the big city tends to move to towns just outside of the M25. As a lot of the people in London are muslim it’s not much of a surprise that those who turn up in Slough are from that religion.

A lot of these newer sulleh don’t like the town though as their areas tend to be cr*pholes and Slough has a large Sikh and Eastern European population. A lot of musis have moved onto Maidenhead, Reading and even Newbury as they have growing numbers there. As more Sikhs come over from East Punjab and more refugees from Ukraine arrive in Slough there is going to be pressure on housing that will only encourage the sulleh to move to cheaper places.

As for the coconut Sikhs who were born in the town, a lot have already moved out to places like Bracknell, Basingstoke, Andover and Swindon as they want to put some distance between themselves and their old hometown. The sulleh don’t really have a clue about these places either. Having said that, Sikhs who aren’t coconuts are better off in areas they know.

Don’t worry they’re slow from all that inbreeding. It took them a couple of decades to figure out Maidenhead was down the road from Slough and another decade to find out  about Reading, Tilehurst and Newbury.

They don’t consider moving to places like Andover, Bracknell, Basingstoke, Lambourn etc. even though their money would go a lot further from selling up in more expensive parts of the south east. I find this surprising as I’d expect them to want cheaper housing to pay for their bigger families.
