Aain another person who is referred to in many divans by sants is Tulsi Das and his writings. Can anyone give me any background regarding this mystic and contribution to faith as in writings.

Tulsi Das Ji was a Sanskrit scholar, who wrote 'Raam Charit Maanas' in 'Braj Bhasha'. He wrote Sanskrit Sloks as 'Mangal' of this book.

Because 'Raam Charit Maanas' is a classical book of Braj language, so some scholars of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji and other old Sikh books read 'Raam Charit Maanas'. Many Sikh-saints and other writers often quote to this book.
