begumpura & sachkhand

Recommended Posts

very intresting question,

Begampura phrase is used by bhagat ravi das ji to describe his state of oneness with God, upon a premi asking him- where do you live?

baygam puraa sahar ko naa-o.

Baygumpura, 'the city without sorrow', is the name of the town.

dookh andohu nahee tihi thaa-o.

There is no suffering or anxiety there.

naaN tasvees khiraaj na maal.

There are no troubles or taxes on commodities there.

kha-uf na khataa na taras javaal. ||1||

There is no fear, blemish or downfall there.

it should not be "ONLY" taken literally as a physical realm but also state of mind just like sachkhand and baihkunt.

Sachkhand, Baikhunt, Begampura are all same realm of oneness with God they can be both realm inside and outside this body.

As gurbani says:

“jo brahmandai soey pindai jo khojai so pavai - whatever is in the universe, the same is in our body and whoever seeks Him through meditation, finds Him there.” - Guru Granth Sahib Ji ang.695.15.

Perhaps amrit veer ji or tsingh can enlighten more on this topic. :D

Gurfateh ji..

The word Begumpur can be divided into 3 parts

Be - without

Gum - sorrow

Pur - city of

So this is the city of no sorrows. There can only be one place without sorrow, and that is with Akaal Purakh - Sachkhand.. And so this can be a state of mind rather than a physical place.
