  1. who gives a crap..id rather marry a "gori" who will be a good mother and raise my ikkle singhz propally than a valeti punjaban who cares more about going out with her mates "init"! my point is this..i dnt care about age..or ethnicity (looks do matter lol)..its all about having babies!
  2. Wish i could go!! Big up the sanatan crew!! Wahooooooooo Amardeep singh, is there any event like this happening in the midlands??
  3. Gabbar youve raised alot of points there, and im glad you posted this. Its quite worrying when people on a spiritual path use their social power to feed their ego i.e. in the case of sikh society talkers, camp talkers, etc it seems most of them arent there to inspire people, but instead, it is their deisre to control people. Im not being biased; or indeed humorous, but the chigwell camp was by far the best camp ive been to in my life. I was always apprehensive about going to camp; i felt i would feel out of place, etc. But the truth is, is that the camp was full of wonderful people..really kind, open minded, gurmukh people who were there with the right intentions. And the beauty of it, was that they were willing to discuss; and give their opinions as well as hear them (and if applicable, take them on board.) God bless chigwell! and all the sewadars/gursikhs who made it what it was. I didnt fully absorb the camp experience (i wasnt there for the whole week) however, it was extremely inspirational for me, to see so many beautiful souls in one building. And the few days i was there, it was definitely something i would do again! Gabbar come next year, im sure youll love it!!
  4. Veera, what do u think this story signifies/means?
  5. I want to move to canada!! God bless the maple leaf!!
  6. Or you could learn gurmat sangeet and how to perform traditionl rag kirtan!
  7. Haris right, one day we will ALL be absorbed into the ultimate reality, so does this topic really matter?
  8. ^ wow!! I heard bhai balbir singh ragi (ex hazoori ragi) also has bhang before he performs kirtan.
  9. Neo we arent scholars. Most of us pick up knowledge from this website/individuals from this website (which then, hopefully, we research ourselves for clarification/confirmation.) Rather than calling jassa senseless, i think we should point him in the direction of what sampardas are, what they mean, etc etc. We were "senseless" once too!
  10. Mehtab, nothing there tells us to grow our hair. P.S i think u should post each shabad in its entirety, along with sakhi behind it.
  11. WOW! Sent a chill down my spine..
  12. Singh47, theres no such thing as "ramgharia" sikhs (in the context of caste.)
  13. Beautiful!!! But veera, where does ardaas fit into all of this??
  14. Narsingha, could you please help me out with this one??
  15. Sangat?? LOL Some people ive met in clubs are far more concious than people ive met in the gurudwara. The dharamsala USED to be a place for like minded souls to meet..for seekers of truth. Now its just a restaurant/business. We need to stop taking things at face value. Life ISNT black and white. Guru ji said, conquer your mind, thus conquer the world. Few people actually try and conquer their mind..instead they focus on singular actions. Abstaining from clubs doesnt make you a better person, or indeed a better sikh.
  16. tsingh, in other relegious traditions, are "sampardas" set up by the prophet him/herself, or is the diversity a product of time?
  17. Before this discussion continues, wasnt one of the main contributors to gurbani baba sheikh farid? Baba sheikh farid, from my understanding, was a well known saint way before guru nanak dev ji (1300's i think, or mabye im crazy.) So whether the other bhagats were sikh or not is irrelevant. One of the main contributors was a muslim (hence TRUTH is universal, and not confined to sikhs.)
  18. I beleive each prophet or messenger of god, has his/her own realm. If they have been good muslims, for e.g, then they shall reap the rewards in the realms of their prophet. I guess im using logic, because theres references to lord krishnas abode, which, in gurbani, is said to temporary (again true devotees of lord krisha will dwell in his paradise/heaven with him.) For gursikhs, there is no temporal heaven or hell. Its complete salvation i.e. free from births and deaths. But being a gursikh is easier said than done.
  19. Anyone know when the buddha dal was actually set up?? Do the authors of shastarvidiya.org have specific dates, sources, etc i can turn to?? Apologies if i sound sceptical..this thread was initially just the result of confusion, and now im really interested to know!!
  20. no. every time i think im catching up with u, ur ras claat jets off. kach dha galaas
  21. Im not a scholar, but just as a general viewpoint..why in the frogs are people so hell bent on manufactering relegious disciples? For the love of god, we're all unique. The fact the gurus encouraged individualism, to me is beautiful. The diversity of our sikh panth is unseen in other faiths. All these insitutes and people (sampardas) are beautiful examples of how unique our gurus were. They recognised, that we all have SKILLS. We have people like bahader veera to help educate the likes of me, and we have certain brothers in the panth, who like cutting poo (i guess its seva if the singh wants it done) Va-hai guru!
  22. Good for you mr singh (ok so i shouldnt assume lol), nice to see sikhs taking the initiative!! (although i dont live in leicester i know a few people there who'll be interested to know this.) Respect and love to the penjis who are taking this initiative. Waheguru Ji ka khalsa Whaeguru Ji ki fateh
