Halloween Day And Sikh Genocide 1984

Halloween and All Saints day are poignant reminders to Sikhs of the 1984 Delhi Massacre. Many thousands of Sikhs lost their lives in the Delhi riots following the assassination of Indira Ghandi in retaliation for her 1984 June attack on the Sikhs in the Golden Temple.

On October 31, 1984, marauding mobs bent on mayhem and murder caroused through the streets carrying clubs, knives, and kerosene randomly killing Sikhs. On November 1, 1984, the rioting spread like flames being fanned by a hot wind. The carnage lasted four days before efforts were made to bring the bloodshed under control. Police looked the other way or stood by watching innocent families butchered. No one has ever been held accountable.

On this day, Indira Gandhi was executed by Shaheed Beant Singh and Shaheed Satwant Singh. Since Indira Gandhi died on Halloween Day, 1984, as a punishment for all the terrible things she did, we believe she was turned by the gods and goddesses of India into Indiro, the Wicked Witch of the East. She now forever roams around in the dark of the night, riding her broom, looking for Sikhs to apologize to.

But on Halloween night, she specially comes up to the surface from the hell below, and she can be seen and heard hiding and cackling in the trees, if you look very close.

We now commemorate the victory of good over evil in celebrating Indiro’s annual journey from hell and back to hell every Halloween by making Indro masks and dressing up like her – the Wicked Witch of the East – and haunting the neighbourhood.

On this day, we should remember the sacrifice of our Shaheeds for the Sikh nation and perhaps celebrate the fact that such people have existed (and We believe still exist) among those in Guru Khalsa Panth.

Happy Halloween Day to all Sikhs

Revered Bollywood Actor Accused of Inciting 1984 Genocide of Sikhs
By MATT REYNOLDS

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan incited the 1984 genocide of thousands of Sikhs to avenge the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a human rights group claims in a federal class action.
Sikhs for Justice on Monday sued Bachchan, 72, alleging crimes against humanity; cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment; extrajudicial killing; wrongful death; negligence and other counts.
Sikhs for Justice says it chose Los Angeles as the forum because Bachchan appeared almost three decades after the genocide in Baz Luhrmann's 2013 film "The Great Gatsby."
Bachchan denied the allegations in a 2011 letter to a Sikh religious leader, The Times of India reported in a Dec. 2, 2011 article.
Human Rights Watch says that several independent reports have confirmed that police and leaders of Gandhi's Congress Party were complicit in the murder of thousands of Sikhs in the riots.
On Oct. 31, 1984, after Indira Gandhi was declared dead at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bachchan "raised the slogans ... 'Sikhs have killed Indira' ... 'Kill these bastards, they are traitors'... 'the blood stains should reach the households of Sikhs" and "'blood for blood," according to the 35-page lawsuit.
Sikhs for Justice claims that the actor's statements spread like the "'Ebola virus'" after a state-owned television broadcast them, leading to four days of attacks on Sikhs in 1984, from Nov. 1 to Nov. 4.
Human Rights Watch says at least 2,733 were killed in Delhi during the massacre. Sikhs for Justice says the nationwide death toll was 30,000.
The group says that thousands of others were "maimed, wounded, raped and burnt" and that more than 300,000 Sikhs were forced to flee from their homes after days of looting and vandalism.
"Defendant's words and anti-Sikh propaganda were like venom being spit out of a cobra, poisoning the minds and hearts of all they touched," the complaint states.
The group says Bachchan used his "super star status" to incite the genocide, and was nominated to a seat for the Parliament of India to "reward his role in avenging the death of Ms. Gandhi."
Bachchan won the election by a wide margin.
In a report released Wednesday, Human Rights Watch said the Indian government to this day refuses to acknowledge its role in the massacre, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
Only 30 people, "mostly low-ranking Congress Party supporters," have been convicted, and not one police officer was jailed, Human Rights Watch says.
"India's failure to prosecute those most responsible for the anti-Sikh violence in 1984 has not only denied justice to Sikhs, but has made all Indians more vulnerable to communal violence," said Meenakshi Ganguly, South Asia director at Human Rights Watch.
"The authorities repeatedly blocked investigations to protect the perpetrators of atrocities against Sikhs, deepening public distrust in India's justice system."
According to Human Rights Watch, Sikh bodyguards assassinated Indira Gandhi after a military operation to remove Sikh militants from the Golden Temple in the northwestern city of Amritsar left hundreds dead and damaged the holy shrine.
After he succeeded his mother as Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi said of the 1984 massacre: "When a big tree falls, the earth shakes."
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh apologized for the atrocities in 2005 but stopped short of acknowledging government complicity.
"I have no hesitation in apologizing not only to the Sikh community but the whole Indian nation, because what took place in 1984 is the negation of the concept of nationhood and what is enshrined in our Constitution," Singh said. "So, I am not standing on any false prestige. On behalf of our government, on behalf of the entire people of this country, I bow my head in shame that such a thing took place."
But Singh added a disclaimer while speaking in Parliament about a probe into the violence.
"The report is before us, and one thing it conclusively states is that there is no evidence, whatsoever, against the top leadership of the Congress Party," Singh said. Sikhs for Justice seeks compensatory and punitive damages, a declaration that Bachchan violated the law of nations, and declaratory judgment that the violence against Sikhs was genocide under U.S. and International law.
The group is represented by Babak Pourtavoosi of Jackson Heights, N.Y.

SFJ is friggin pain in the ass. everyone knows Amitabh (whose mother was from a top sikh clergy family) had absolutely nothing to do with the carnage. all the non-sensical allegations against him comes from one single 'witness' who apparently was the ONLY person who saw and heard Amitabh shouting khoon ka badla khoon slogans on national TV. Not one single video or audio clip has been presented as evidence against amitabh. i wish he sues these publicity seeking SOBs.

Sure sure....people seeking justice are a pain. ...how dare they. .....The nerve of some people!

SFJ is designed to help Mr. Pannu in his legal business. Otherwise, lawyers by regulation are not supposed to start frivolous litigation that has no merit. He should be suspended from law practice for starting something against Modi especially since he knew it would be over-uled by immunity. The American court has no jurisdiction over Amitabh Bachchan as well.

But its all good. Modi's visit was a success, got his man (arvind subramanian) as Chief Economic Advisor.

Because of Pannus actions, the Americans just lost out on a multi-billion dollar deal. An emergency delegation is arriving from the States as we speak.

Not many people had videos in India in 1984 and the ones that had how many would be taping these events? The truth lies in the vaults of the archives of Doordarshan and these are unlikely to be revealed by any government. There is probably some truth to the accusations either he personally did shout the slogans or these were dubbed from one of his movies on to TV coverage by the government as part of the conspiracy to start the genocide of Sikhs.

The US court have jurisdiction over Bachchan as he enjoys no immunity as the head of a sovereign state. Since you have such an incisive legal brain maybe you should advise your hero Big B to ignore the summons and not respond. Let's see what happens then.

Can you get the summons to him in the first place? Give it to him personally? Nope.

If by chance Big B does get the summons personally I say play it out. There is no video and neither can anybody produce it. Counter sue and ask for the dismissal of the case. Sue these gurudwaras, groups and individuals for millions and go after them in America and India.

Ban the Dal Khalsa and Sikh Siyasat, Sell their homes, properties and offices to pay the bill.

There are international conventions which allow for the service of summons from one country to the resident of another. Bachchan doesn't have the guts to sue as he is not 100% sure that there is no video tape somewhere which could show up and totally ruin his career as well as lay him open to criminal charges.

Sure, why not go one step further and ban anyone and everyone who has been trying to get justice for the Sikhs since 1984!

And "sue the Gurdwaras"? Very.....open minded. You don't sound like an extremist at all.

How would you like us to hold the various gurudwaras and groups responsible for the rise of bhindranwale and his people? We have more than enough proof.

He openly lived in the harmandir from where he assassinated people. Many of those groups are still active.

We should be holding this religious place and it's management responsible.

No Gurdwara or group were responsible for bhindranwalas rise. His own conviction, strength and faith were the reason for his rise. Nothing else.

He openly lived in the harmandir from where he assassinated people.

Yet your leaders were given cabinet positions after killing thousands of sikhs. you whinge about any action being considered against them.

We should be holding this religious place and it's management responsible.

Excellent, now we have moved onto "responsibility". Although i fear you don't know the meaning of the word. The Sikhs hold the indian govt and it's apparatus responsible for situation in Panjab (not to mention the other states, where they are murdering their own citizens).

You want people responsible to accountable for their actions. Well, that will include the indian central and state ministers, and all the people who voted them into power, so they could create carnage in Panjab. bhindranwala and his followers are dead, so the account is settled from our side. let's see yours get what they have deserved from over 60 years ago.

33,000 killed by terrorists in Punjab, Sikhs for Jhooth have no sympathy for them.

twice, maybe 3 times as many innocent Sikhs killed by your security forces, in a crime against humanity. have you ever thought of condemning your people?

How about you, do you have the guts to even condemn the massacres (including bombing of Air India planes 1985 ) carried out by Sikh terrorists?

you talk about guts, but are gutless yourself. you want us to condemn something we believe that the indian govt masterminded and blamed on sikhs? we do condemn it, along with every other sick and twisted word and action that has come from the red fort.

do you have the guts to condemn what happened in Chando Kalam in 1981?

show some bloody shame - i am condemning 84 killing in almost every comment on this thread. i condemn the killing of every single innocent sikh by khali dogs. at least condemn the act of the killers (who killed tens of thousand civilians and also claimed responsibility for most of the senseless massacres) even if you are in an eternal mode of denial over the acts of Sikh terrorists.

but yet you dont condemn the killings of sikh youths which outweigh all the killings by sikh "terrorists" at least three-fold?

you talk about shame? you?

chando kalan - accidental fire burning some pothis by Punjab police

and that is why you will never have any credibility here.

I'm sorry, but what you've got is diddly squat.

If the GOI had even a shred of evidence (not the fabricated nonsense churned out by them to brainwash the masses) they would have done something about it when they had Sant Bhindranwale in custody.

The fact that you can even suggest that this religious place should be held responsible shows not only that you're (clearly) looking at this from a very biased view point, but also your very extremist/jihadi mentality when it comes to matters of basic human justice.
