  1. Bro, these cases are exceptional instances. We cannot use such cases to change the rules of Sikhism. Example: At times, when one goes for a surgery, hair removal is required. There is no option available. Some people have a medical problem with keeping long hair too. Daas personally knows of two such people. These instances cannot be used, by ordinary healthy humans, to justify killing hair (a cardinal sin in Sikhism). Btw, how common is allergy to milk among Punjabi Indians? Bhul chuk maaf
  2. Most likely, none. A person who expects to be worshiped (as God) by anyone is definitely going to hell and probably receive some severe punishments. The onus is on Sikh women to uphold this Sikh principle. Similarly, in a mother-child relationship, it is the duty of the child to respect his mother as a Guru and bow to her. A Sikh mother will never expect her child to worship her as a Guru or God. Bhul chuk maaf
  3. Sangat jee: Please listen to the audio clip below by Gyani Thakur Singh jee. After listening, one will realize how advanced Gurmat is, as compared to medical science. Please listen after 25:20 min: http://www.gurbaniupdesh.org/multimedia/04-Katha/13-Giani Thakur Singh Ji (Patiala Wale)/Katha Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji/CD02(Ang0019-0077)/0095-Ang-0032-Pankti-12.mp3 Bhul chuk maaf
  4. Good news brother. Dhan Guru Nanak......toon hee Nirankaar. Bhul chuk maaf
  5. Request to Sangat: Please do share similar stories as above. Thanks Bhul chuk maaf
  6. Paaji, this is a tough one. In this situation, one must consult Panj Pyaray or a Saint. Do they say to avoid all dairy products or only milk? Bhul chuk maaf
  7. Bro, please show me where Daas has mentioned that you said so. Code of conduct is needed to keep this wandering mind on track. The over tendency to look at many issues in the grey region can also be detrimental to the youth/new spiritual seekers. Quote (Das jee) Understand the realy point, as long as your mind is dancing but you're sitting (betraying yourself) in meditation, then what's the use? On the other had if someone is dancing by remembering HIM, then it is good. Unquote Music and singing, which reminds a person about God, are permitted in Gurmat. We cannot compare dancing in remembrance of God, to dancing with women on dirty songs. The content of the song is the key. Paaji, a Saint's point of view is mentioned (video clip) in the initial post. . Bhul chuk maaf
  8. Let's assume we stop consuming dairy products due to mistreatment of animals or due to the fact that we can still survive without it. What about plant food? Even procurement of plant food, involves killing of animals. Please have a look below: Quote 1 scientist in north america did calculation and said that if people of north america shift to beef and dairy products instead of grains then it will result in 80 milion less lost lives of animals as so many rats, rabbits pheasants a birds are killed for harvesting , so no food comes to human plate without killing Unquote (Kdsingh80) What should we do now? Starve to death? Start living in forests? Become unhealthy? Even during times of Satguru jee, most likely, rodents and pests were killed to obtain food. This is a necessity for survival. People, who don't consume meat/eggs, need dairy products for a healthy body, which in turn is required for spiritual progress. Vegan diet is deficient in many nutrients. Please have a look below. http://authoritynutrition.com/top-5-reasons-why-vegan-diets-are-a-terrible-idea/ Keep things simple - Consume food (dairy products and plant food), which are clearly permitted in Gurbani. Bhul chuk maaf
  9. Mistreatment of animals is not the only reason, Sikhs are prohibited from eating meat. In reality, to obtain vegetarian food too, one has to kill animals (rodents, pests, etc). Two primary reasons* for prohibition of meat eating: Meat/eggs have a negative effect on human mindTaking animal life causes more karmic debt than plant lifeThe shabad "Maas Maas Kar Moorakh Jagray" is speaking against Hypocrisy. It does not permit meat (animal) eating. In fact, in that shabad, a human body is also refereed to as Maas (flesh). Does that mean, we can consume human flesh too? - No, we cannot. * - There are more reasons too Bhul chuk maaf
  10. Can someone please explain the eight(8) Dhaats(Metals) mentioned in Gurbani? Thanks Bhul chuk maaf
  11. It is possible that "ਅੰਦ੍ਰਾਹੁਲ" might have multiple meanings. Bhul chuk maaf
  12. Das jee's point is spiritual and is completely true. There is no doubt that a person does dance to the tunes of Maya, but this cannot be used as a justification to indulge in physical dancing. Maya has been refereed to as an intoxicant, in Gurbani. Maya is the wall of doubt - Maya is the wall of doubt. It is such a powerful and destructive intoxicant; it corrupts and wastes away one's life. According to this, most people on this planet, including Sikhs, consume this intoxicant. But, can we justify consuming other worldly intoxicants (alcohol, tobacco, cocaine, etc), by using this example? - No, we cannot. Bhul chuk maaf
  13. Good point by Das jee. Another point we have to remember is that the Lekha for eating/killing animals is greater than that for, eating /killing plants, vegetables, fruits, micro-organisms, etc. Bhul chuk maaf
  14. Bro, what is the source of the above? Can you please tell us? Thanks Bhul chuk maaf
  15. Mistreatment of animals cannot be used as an excuse to consume meat/eggs. People buy milk from their hard earned income. They pay for it. They are not the ones, who are mistreating animals. If one claims that a person, who buys milk is partly responsible for the mistreatment of animals, then there are many other issues which can brought forward. Examples: We possibly use hundreds of products in our homes. Are we 100% sure that all these products have reached us, without any non-Gurmat practice in its chain (human slavery, corruption, etc)? What about those good honest people, who live under corrupt governments? Are they also partly responsible for corruption? Should we blame them? What about the good honest people, who live in a country, which exploits other countries? Should we blame them? What about the good honest people, who live in a country, which invades other countries? Should we blame them? What about the good honest people, who work in a company, which indulges in unethical practices? Should we blame them?If we start thinking about all such issues, our mind will potentially get more and more confused. Do we seriously have time to think about all such issues? Bhul chuk maaf
  16. Does anyone know the teachings that were imparted to Mata Amro jee by her father (Second Master)? One of the teachings was to never come back home, without permission of in-laws. Does anyone know the other teachings? Have they been documented in any historical source? Thanks Bhul chuk maaf
  17. Gupt jee, Satguru jee (fourth master) used to cry a lot, while praying. Please listen to the audio clip below by Gyani Thakur Singh jee. Please listen after 8.40 min. http://www.gurbaniupdesh.org/multimedia/04-Katha/13-Giani Thakur Singh Ji (Patiala Wale)/Katha Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji/CD02(Ang0019-0077)/0102-Ang-0036-Pankti-03.mp3 Srimaan 108 Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh jee Khalsa Bhindranwale also used to cry, when he used to visit the martyrdom place of Chotay Sahibjaday. Bhul chuk maaf
  18. Bro, please have a look below. Bhul chuk maaf
  19. Oct.17, 2015 - Sangrand (Katak)

  20. Relax........It was only a question. Bhul chuk maaf
  21. Bro, science is below Satguru jee's hukam. Waheguru's command is to protect cows (not sure about buffaloes), so Khalsa (when in power) will protect them. Consuming plant food is clearly permitted in Gurbani, even though scientifically speaking, plants are being killed and suffer pain too. Bottom line - Almighty God's commands have to be followed, Bhul chuk maaf
