Can Rehraas Sahib be done before 5:30 p.m?
Trimandeep Singh replied to Samarbir Singh's topic in General Discussion
I wanted to say what is the harm of reading the bani on a birthday because I thought that you were saying it will not benefit. (will the person die?) You cleared it after. And, when did I say read it to make someone alive? This response is irrelevant and illogical. Trimandeep Singh -

Thanks. So Baba Nand Singh Ji gave some power to Devotees to do Paath of Sri Guru Granth Sahib? Or did he gave this task to all devotees and told them that this is the 'Dargaahi Parshaad'? Also, The devotees had to do all these in one month? Or either any one of them in a month? Dhanvaad Jio Trimandeep Singh -
If I just talk about some real life experiences of Baba Nand Singh Ji or any Mahapurakh and claim that I have experienced this, would you give me the title of Brahmgyani? I am not saying that this Baba is lying. But one should not make an assumption unless you know about their jeevan and beliefs. Brahmgyanis always keep their avastha gupt. Don't forget, Brahmgyami is one who realizes the jot of Vaheguru in himself. If someone talks about this complex topics, it doesn't mean they have had darshan of Vaheguru. Please don't just call anyone a Brahmgyani. Trimandeep Singh

Havan (Fire Ritual) Maryada

If you can give any logic behind Havan that how does reading bani in front of fire benefit us, then it be helpful. Will it benefit more if one does a Havan? If your answer is fire is symbolizing Akaal Purakh, then I don't agree because symbolizism has no place in gurmat. Trimandeep Singh -

@paapiman Today. I just read this beautiful pankti and it has solved all my doubts regarding the topic of who is giver of naam and liberation. The True Guru is the Giver of the Lord's Name. There is no other giver at all. The self-willed manmukhs practice devotional rituals without the True Guru, but without the True Guru, there is no devotion. I think now you can believe that even Pooran Brahmgyanis can't give naam to anyone because pankti has cleared, only Satguru which is Guru Nanak Dev Ji can give you naam. And Satguru is only one There is One Bani; there is One Guru; there is one Shabad to contemplate. And without naam, no-one can get Mukti Without the Naam, I cannot live. Those who lack the Naam have their faces rubbed in the dirt of Maya. Without the Naam, cursed, cursed are their lives. O Nanak, without the Name, the Messenger of Death punishes them; in the end, they depart regretting and repenting. ||1|| I think now we can conclude that for liberation, you need naam which is only with the Satguru, not anyone else. Hence, anyone has to seek the sanctuary of Satguru Nanak Dev Ji to receive naam and do bhagti and finally reach eternal Sachkhand. -

So what if a baana waala nihang is doing this. Many people today wear gurmukhi baana but still don't refrain from doing qurehits. Today, so many nihangs with baana don't do kirt Kamaayi and most probably either they are dhille in rehat or fake nihangs. Currently, I am against Havan and these videos are not any evidence that Havan is gurmat. But if you provide some panktis from Guru Sahib Rachit Granths and writings of Bhai Gurdaas Ji and Bhai Nand Lal Ji, then Daas can consider that and do vichar. Trimandeep Singh -

What? Guru sahib has mentioned doing yags along with all types of prevalent practices that are considered FRUITLESS and KARAMKAAND by Gurbani. Just like in Japji Sahib, in 2nd 'Asankh' pauri, guru sahib has talked about sinners and their activities, so we consider all of those Paaps, Guru Gobind Singh Ji has mentioned jags along with practices like sacrifices, wandering in forests, doing fasting, doing charities, wearing garb of a saint etc which means jagya is one of these empty rituals and practices which bear no fruit. And please can you give me an example of any Taksaal Mahapurakh or Nanaksar Mahapurush who accepted Havan as Gurmat? I consider opinions of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji very important. And he is completely against doing aarti Pooja of guru sahib like hindus with a thaali, doing Havans and stuff. Him being a GURMUKH Brahmgyani, I trust him and believe him. Also, please do find panktis from Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Sri Dasam Granth Sahib, Sri Sarbloh Granth and Bhai Gurdaas Ji and Bhai Nand Lal Ji writings. If you find one, we can do vichar. I think Havan Hom are likes of Yagya only. If guru sahib says don't consume cannabis, then would you want him to mention hookah, cigarette, charas ganja everything? I think if he has mentioned something, then we should consider its likes also. Trimandeep Singh -

But these Granths are written by gursikhs so mistakes are bound to happen. We all know about some anti gurmat stuff written in these granths. I am not saying just discredit them. Only Satguru Ji is perfect. Even Brahmgyanis had made some mistakes in the past, though they were very very small, but still. W have to believe these stories in light of Gurmat. So, we Need to find panktis from Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Sri Dasam Granth Sahib, Sri Sarbloh Granth and Bhai Gurdaas Ji and Bhai Nand Lal Ji writings because they are perfect and contain no mistakes. We need to accept their teachings and interpret everything in light of teachings of these 5. If you find any pankti in support of Havan/ Sikh Havan in any of the 5, Pls post and we can do vichar. Your statements are absolutely absurd. "Why would He love people more who do naam jaap if He Is All." Are you saying he loves murderers and rapists and naam abhyaasis equally? He loves all, no doubt in that. But he always keeps laaj of his gursikhs and not a person who commits sins. He always punishes those who slander the Saints. He loves his saints more than anyone else. He loves all but also does justice by punishing us for our sins. He is painful, when He sees His saints in grief He is happy, when His saints are happy. "He doesn't judge and we are noone to judge" He has appointed Dharam Rai to JUDGE us on the basis of our Man Bach Karam (Thoughts, Sayings and Deeds). If he doesn't judge anyone, then how will he punish someone for sinning? However, if you mean his love isn't affected because of religion, caste etc then I am WITH you on this. And yes, WE are noone to judge. Seriously? We are in the Bandhan of Lakh Chaurasi and Maaya. Only those Bhagti waala Mahapurush are free of Maaya. The God-conscious being is free from entanglements. "The judgemental fools who fight each other in gurdwarras over petty egotistical matters are noone to listen to or follow." I don't think it is wrong to be judgemental as long as we are judging in the light of Gurbani. If we don't judge practices of others, then infiltration of Anti Gurmat practices in Khalsa Panth would be really easy. We should not judge on the basis of irrelevant things but also keep a check in light of Gurmat. Eg judging someone's avastha on the basis of physical/outer Rehat. And fights are obviously not a solution. Healthy Debates with quoting points from Gurbani is needed. Bhul chuk maaf Trimandeep Singh -

Do you even know who this person is? Do you know about his jeevan? He is Dr. Daljit Singh Ji. And AKJ is not any cult as you suppose. Talk to puratan taksaali gursikhs to know about the pyaar between AKJ and Taksaal Singhs. Do you even know the love between- Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji and Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji, Sant Kartar Singh Ji and Bhai Sahib Jeevan Singh Ji, Baba Harnaam Singh Ji and Bhai Sahib Jeevan Singh Ji and Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara, Sant Jarnail Singh Ji and Shaheed Bhai Sukhdev Singh Babbar, Sant Jarnail Singh and Shaheed Bhai Fauja Singh Ji? -

Not to offend anyone but I found these verses in Sri Gyan Parbodh by Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. Many with faces upside down light the fire Many ascetics roam forsaking their sleep. Many perform austerity of five fires Even they have not been able to know thy limits. (ਭਾਵੇਾਂ ਕੋਈ) ਅਨੰਤ ਯੱਗ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮ (ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ) The performance of innumerable acts of sacrifices ਗਜਾਦਿ ਆਦਿ ਧਰਮਣੰ ॥ The performance of the religious act of giving elephants etc. in charity Wandering in many countries All these acts do not equal the merit of the remembrance of the Name of One Lord. One may perform millions of types of charities (ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਰਹਾ ਦੇ ਯੱਗ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ) He may perform many types of sacrifices and actions. One may adopt the religious garb of mendicant He may perform many rituals of a hermit. One may perform the religious acts of the ancient ages He may perform the ascetic and monastic works. He may perform the works of mercy etc., and magic They are all wworks of great restraint, prevalent from times immemorial. I don't think any type of Sikh Havan or Hindu Havan has been mentioned. If guru sahib has rejected something, doesn't mean we produce a 'Sikh' version of it and justify it by reading certain banis. There's no need of doing Havan. If it would have been, it must be mentioned in Gurbani. Gurmukhs like Baba Harnaam Singh Ji, Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji, Sant Attar Singh Ji and probably Nanaksar waale Mahapurakhs also never engaged in these rituals. It's better to spend your time reading and understanding bani than to discover new ways to attain Mukti. As long as you follow Rehat and do abhyaas, no-one can stop you. And even if Havan was in line with Sikhi, we don't find any hukam for this anywhere. So if it's true, still it is not a Paap if you don't do it. This is MY logic for jhatka, sukha etc. We can't find any HUKAMS related to them. But we should just respect those people who do these and focus on ourselves. Bhul chuk maaf Trimandeep Singh -
Can Rehraas Sahib be done before 5:30 p.m?
Trimandeep Singh replied to Samarbir Singh's topic in General Discussion
First of all, Nitnem is to be done at Amrit Vela. If someone does it after sunset, then he will get less benefit but what is the harm? Which mahapurush says you can't do after sunset? If someone is feeling low or under the influence of 5 vikaars in the evening then one may read nitnem banis because they are an effective heavy dose. Second, even if you read Sri Ahalaniyaan on a birthday, will the person die? I think it would be good to read this bani on a birthday, reminding one that you are ageing and your death is near so better read more bani and do more Simran and Sewa. I wouldn't believe it if one says it will NOT benefit in any way. Blessed is that time and blessed is that person who sings bani. The thing bani is talking about doesn't matter much but if it talks about current situation then it is better. One more thing, bani can also be used to express emotions. I would not recommend singing this Shabad on a funeral "Lakh Khushiaan Patshaayian Je Satgur Nadar Karey" Because this is not a moment of happiness. Also, I am not contradicting the point of Ahalaniyaan. The bani talks about hukam of guru sahib, accepting it, the inevitable death and uselessness of grieving over a bound-to-happen thing. It is still relevant on a birthday. Bhul chuk maaf Trimandeep Singh -

Do you have an evidence that she started worshipping Vaheguru Ji? Even if Bhagat Ravidas ji was her guru, it doesn't mean she was a Brahmgyani. And probably when Bhagat Ravidas Ji was her GURU, he hadn't himself attained brahmgyan. When one becomes Brahmgyani, he/she doesn't become a guru or makes himself/herself a guru but encourages to worship Vaheguru and make his Shabad their guru. There are different loks. In Sikhism the highest heaven of all is the realm of truth, Sachkhand. Sachkhand and Karam Khand are intangible and are eternal. The other 3 khands are tangible and can be destroyed. According to Hindu scriptures, Swarg is their destination. For Quran, Jannat and for Christianity, Heaven. All of these mats have different concepts. Gurmat says that all of these destinations do exist but are present in Gian Khand. People who go there only enjoy worldly pleasures which are false. In Sachkhand, Gurmukh sees the actual/pargat saroop of Vaheguru. For liberation, mats have different concepts. Eg in Buddhism, liberation is when one reaches state of Nirvana. According to Sikhism, Mukti is when one realizes the jot of Vaheguru in himself/ gets darshan of Pargat saroop of Vaheguru. Bhul chuk maaf Trimandeep Singh -

I don't agree with this. Rehat is universal and not bound to time. One may not follow Rehat and cut his hair which is clearly a violation of Vaheguru's hukam. Veerji, I think we should end it here. I think we should stop discussions if others went to Sachkhand or not. We are following guru sahib and we are bound to follow his hukams. So let's focus on ourselves and end this debate. I don't think there's any end to this. Trimandeep Singh
