  1. Have you read this? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4219650/Children-s-band-decapitate-GOAT-ritual-slaughter.html
  2. I guess it is possible that as your mind turns inwards some of the desires it once had are slowly let go. I'm feeling similiar in other aspects, as if my mind is becoming numb. The mental chatter it once had seems to be drifting away and I can sit at times and just be brain dead so to speak. Even trying to force it to do mental simran feels like a strain. It's like my mind doesn't care about anything or anyone anymore.
  3. I came across this link a few days ago and thought it would be worthwhile sharing it here as I know it has come up a few times before in various discussions. http://blog.mindvalleyacademy.com/mind/ever-fallen-asleep-while-meditating
  4. I was just watching a live broadcast on the Shri Bhucho Sahib youtube channel and noticed that after the ardas at around 6:15pm local time they play instruments resembling the panch shabad in unison (anhad shabad). Go to time index 17:15 to listen
  5. You would need to go to Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara in Slough. (221 Bath Rd, Slough SL1 4BA). They generally hold weekly Sunday morning divans there. http://www.gmggurdwara.com/
  6. Spirituality of Navratri (9 nights) and Dassehra (10th Day) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The journey starts at night which represents the Agianta(ignorance) since the soul comes into this illusionary world of maya by obtaining a body and gets stuck in time and space due to the ignorance. Think of the Body as a cave. The nine nights represent the 9 holes/doors in the body thru which the soul experiences the world of Maya/Illusion. These nine doors are the 9 orifices or the doors that open to the outside world namely (2 eyes, 2 nostrils, 2 ears, 1mouth, and 2 below the belt= total of 9). The transaction/attachment thru these 9 holes keeps us bondage to the ignorance/agianta. Dassehra is celebrated during the day to represent the light, wisdom, victory over ignorance. The 10th door/hole (also known as the dassam dwaar, Guru-dwaar, Hari-dwaar, also mentioned by Jesus as-knock and the door will open, 3ed eye, the pineal gland) is located above the other nine holes and is closed to the outer world. During this journey of 10 days, the meditation is done to transcend/detach these 9 doors and celebrate the opening of the 10th door with the light of the Ultimate Creative Energy. This can only happen because of HIS grace, not because of the meditation alone. May this celebration be of your soul to transcend the 9 doors of ignorance and fruit of opening of the 10th door/wisdom.
  7. Not sure I would be confident to try the vacuum method on my own, but as an improvise maybe I can use the suction of a vacuum cleaner placed on the navel.
  8. I was doing the exact same thing last night as Lucky was stating. You can clearly hear your pulse and is an excellent way to work on rom rom simran. If I lay my ear down on my hand the pulse was even more easier and louder to listen to.
  9. Not sure what is wrong with the bottom picture. That photo is of someone who had surgery. I can feel no protrusions.
  10. Sometimes when you read gurbani you will also find the sweet amrit appears.
  11. Yes my mid section is chubby. My Dharan seems to shift to the right. Got my mother to massage it a couple of times and the aches in the legs and feet have subsided. Mine happens when I lift heavy objects.
  12. Whether the saliva is sweet or not doesn't really matter, the senses are perceiving that a sweet nector is in the mouth. Just accept the parshad from the divine and drink it in.
  13. Anyone know any self help techniques to centralise the Dharan? Mine feels very uncomfortable and aches and pains are running down my entire legs and feet.
  14. Try it. I don't see anything wrong with using a bit of help to stop the mind from escaping through the nine gates.

  16. Have you been pulling the stomach/navel in when doing japna or forceful fast jap of gurmantar? I have heard a throbing/pulsating navel can lead to a lot Brahm agan being generated which is not good. Take it easy if your doing the above.
  17. Good short video. Interesting remarks made about how real Love/Prem develops when the mind is still.
  18. Watched this film on Netflix yesterday. Can say I know nothing about Osho but was interested to see what this movie described about his journey to realization. Movie was bit of a let down and can't say it did anything for me to encourage me on the path... However I did note a few remarks that were made by some of the sadhus he comes into contact with. Osho always had questions in his mind which were never answered to his satisfaction by the sadhus. He then meets a "paagal baba" who says to him "Jaa Marja, and all your questions will be answered". Reminded me of the following pangti when I heard this. kabeer jis marnay tay jag darai mayray man aanand. Kabeer, the world is afraid of death - that death fills my mind with bliss. marnay hee tay paa-ee-ai pooran parmaanand. It is only by death that perfect, supreme bliss is obtained. From that point on he begins to meet other sadhus who will begin to guide him. When he meets the 3rd sadhu he wonders how he is being blessed with their darshan and guidance. The sadhu replies, when the student is ready the right sadhu will appear to take them forward...
