I tell you watching the news channels is proper depressing. Especially sky news.
They were discussing the papers and the lady said the NHS will be prioritising healthy young people rather than people over 70 or those with cancer or other underlying health conditions.
This was in relation to the proposed self isolation of over 70s that may come into effect in the coming weeks. She was Blantant that everyone is scared for their loved ones and her Co host said people will die.

Go daku style! Wrap a scarf around your mooh!
That may block 30% where a surgical mask may block 80%.

Now I know why all the Chinese people are wearing them on the trains.
I tried ordering a few on ebay today only for ebay to inform me that it maybe a fake trader who's listing they have pulled.
Even if I don't wear on route to work. Might come in useful if you need to self isolate at home and have children.

I've still got to go into the city for work. Some teams are being instructed to work on 2 week rotations in the office but others like ours all the time office.
Not thrilled to have to use tube at the moment. Hopefully most of the city is working from home.

Thanks veer ji for sharing as bhai ravinder singh ji is the best source and happy to see & hear his views on the current situation.
It needed to be said! I think a lot of people under estimate what could happen.

Earlier someone said to me (regarding the UK):
"If this is how people are going on, and nothing serious has even happened yet - imagine how people are going to behave if things do get desperate!"
Expect animal instincts to come up.
Agree Bro, things are bad. No one knows which household may be quarrentined. If you look at the Italy's situation you can tell they we are most likely to face the same.
I don't doubt there are a number serious factors that need to be taken into consideration when running a country and the impact can be huge on society at a whole. The government doesn't want to confess that NHS is in big trouble, they exited Europe and now they are on their own.
Take the oxygen ventilators situation. UK only has 5,000. Only few manufactures make them in US, New Zealand and Germany. So you immediately know where any new ones are going first. UK will be lucky if manages to secure many more when the whole world is trying to secure them.
Lalo brexit. Lol

I am definitely concerned about this pandemic. I worry about our child and elderly parents.
There is a serious lack of information coming out uk government.
They don't have the infrastructure to cope so have stopped testing most people. Everyone must assume they have it if they exhibit symptoms. This is a complete joke.

Someone asks Bhai Sahib what dhun should you focus on when you hear other sounds on the inside. He goes on to advise focus only on the sehaj dhun i.e the one which is a constant continuous tone.
let other sounds happen in the background but keep concentration on the sehaj dhun. -

Thought it would be useful to create a topic with links to Waheguru gurmantar jaap for us to jap along with when struggling to do it on our own. Useful posts like this probably getting buried in the other topics.
Please keep posts limited to straight (nirol) gurmantar jaap and not kirtan mix simran.

Hello, Sat 1176, I can continuously hear a sharp piercing sound similar to the 12 KZ sound in the YouTube video but it's not loud, it's very soft but sharp and it's just started recently since I started meditation so I'm sure it's not some ear problem but it's due to meditation and it's very strong right after meditation. I don't pay any attention to tis sound, am I supposed to focus my attention on this sound?
Yes, do gentle simran but move attention on the sound instead.

Maharaj Sunny ji,
Radhasoami teach that you should only listen to sound on the right side. Right to take surti up and left side to bring surti down.
There are references to chand and sooraj in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. Chand is left and sooraj is right. I think it recommends chand side which is left.
The Lord placed the two lamps, the sun and the moon; the sun merges in the house of the moon.
chand sooraj du-ay deepak raakhay sas ghar soor samaa-idaa.
Surti moves from right (sun side) to left (moon).
I have also heard Gurmukhs says that entrance to our true home is via the left of head.
Intuitively if you look straight with eyes closed you may feel that the right eye wants to turn to the left slightly.
I have been told to listen either side when sound come and more to the left if possible. You can make sound move from left to right, or right to left.
For example if can only hear left side then slowly move surti from left to right. You will see that dhun will move from left to right or both side dhun will happen.

Sat sri Akaal All,
I have a question. Please @Lucky @Sat1176 @HisServant guest Singh veerji clear my doubt. Normally during meditation/ simran my body feels light nd I feel like floating but today I felt opposite. The body became very very heavy. As if I was a stone. Rather every part was tooo heavy to feel. Did I do something wrong?? I didn't do anything different or unusual that I am aware of.
Please advice. Is it normal?
I had that experience. Body felt extremely heavy when I tried to come out of Dhyan. I struggled to lift my arms or move. Took 30-40 mins before I felt normal again. I discussed it with a gurmukh at the time and he told me it happens. Not to worry and just take it slow and easy when coming back.

I read that site years ago.

Another good explaination of the steps of simran. From jaap to sunn to listening to anhad sounds.

? Or did I see Big boss (lol)
Big Boss is a clear light not of any colour. Like looking through glass. If it's solid colours your seeing then it's elements.
Green - Air
White - water
Red - fire
Yellow - earth
navy/black - akash / ether
Colours to be ignored.
My rings were white so using my own logic it could have been water element.

I am so sorry for the late reply but I was trying to figure out the ans to ur question, all this while. These circles as I sit for meditation are like circles of light ( light waves) in my vision. In my mind.
As I sit for meditation I hear Sahej dhunn and see these waves - sometimes outwards other times inwards or like feel earth rotating ( I mean something is rotating- the circular motion). I don't know what it is, or if it means anything.
Thanks in advance
Funnily enough I saw these white rotating rings also. They were coming towards me as I listened to the dhun.
If I understand it correctly it is not rings coming towards us. Our surti is passing through riding on shabad as we listen.
However I do know I was using a slightly different technique today of raising my surti higher in my head then normal.
I was following along to this video. From 24 mins goes through Saas giras, Saas Saas, romrom, to raising surti to top of head.
Is that what you do?

also plz @Sat1176 dont like comments which have ninda for others!
this is my humble opinion as i look upto you guys!
If I agree with what someone has said I will like. Please don't lecture me on what I should and shouldn't like. I'm not aware of liking any post with nindaya and recall only liking one post today by Sukh_preet where I agree with her view about sharing. This whole topic is about sharing. I find it annoying when people come on here and say don't share and try and discourage others from talking further. As if they are the naam simran police. It's so demotivating and infusing paranoia into people's head to think negative and watering the seeds of doubt (bahm). No one is forcing anyone to share what they don't want to and those that do are happy to do so. We will never learn if we don't ask. I am personally grateful for the cyber sangat I have met on this forum. Some I've now become good friends with and have met personally.
If people got access to mahapursh by all means go have 1-to-1 conversations and keep your conversations gupt as you please. There is no need to be post in this topic. None of us here claim to be experts. Just simple Sikh brothers and sisters walking on the path and trying to help where we can like we wished we had when we were starting out. We don't have all the answers and sometimes keep quiet if we don't know. We may be able to direct you to someone who may know but there is no pressure on anyone to do anything.
Some people just have allergic reactions when anything spiritual is discussed as if some major sin is being committed. This forum broke the taboo topic of experiences. Those of us who shared aren't suffering or regret talking about it. Any shortcomings are our own or were supposed to be a passing phenomena, not because we talked about it and Waheguru took it away. Experiences come and go.
It is very disappointing to see newcomers coming onboard seeking advice, only to be discouraged about sharing something that maybe troubling. I think it is sad since it may have taken them courage to write and post in the first place. I've seen the same members do it again and again. If you don't believe in sharing keep out of the this topic. Stop enforcing your views on others.
We have all had some kind of experience whether big or small. When you first encounter something strange and out of the ordinary it does trouble you. If it happens again well and good. If it doesn't then no big deal either, just stop being negative about it. Just keep moving forward.
Where is the average Sikh supposed to go who are not associated with any Jathabandi or those who respect all Jathabandi but are not attached to any? We Sikhs are our own worst enemy at times, constantly trying to pull each other down from the legs trying to hinder progress through indirect negativity, rather than encouraging each other and saying keep climbing.
Where are we going to learn about naam, simran or bhagti? It certainly isn't discussed in 99% of Gurdwaras near me.
I'm pleased to say this forum is one great resource for those interested on the path of naam simran. No one is on a ego trip or judgemental of those who wish to do naam simran. Everyone helps where they can and encourages where possible. There is so much knowledge contained on this site with links that has taken years to accumulate. We didn't have a clue where to look years ago. It was like searching for a needle in a haystack of where one should begin. What technique should one adopt as a beginner? What was the sounds, tastes, smells in our heads? Why was our bodies shaking etc?
So many brothers and sisters came forward and said to hell with this hidden gupt view, stood up and said we are not afraid to talk about it and are having similar experiences and issues. We want to learn, share and make progress. As we found more information on the path we shared so other's don't waste time searching like we had to. Hopefully what is being shared is helping those start their journey quicker than if everyone was working at it alone. So much time is wasted looking for answers or direction.
Bravo friends, God bless you all....
Waheguru kirpa karan.
