  1. http://www.witness84.com/unesco/ The Sikhs face a big threat to their sovereignty - the jurisdiction of the Sri Harimandir Sahib and Akal Takht is to be formally conceded over to the jurisdiction of the Indian Government, if this 'behind the scenes stealth' move is allowed to go through. Without any consultation with the Panth, collusion between the Government of India and some misinformed Sikhs, has resulted in an application for 'heritage status' to UNESCO. In essence, the Harimandir Sahib should have no formal juridical control by any manmade political institution. Its physical protection and management is the responsibility of the Sikh Panth. The Akal Takht is the political seat of Sikhs, representing the sovereignty of Guru Panth in the balance of Guru Granth & Guru Panth - it is the 'living' decision making institution of the Sikh Panth. With a Heritage status, the independent sovereignty of Guru Panth will be formally taken away, making one of Sikhi's main institutions defunct. This is why the world's buildings representing seats of sovereignty institutions - like Buckingham Palace or Windsor Palace in UK, the White House, be as they be beautiful buildings, never apply for heritage status as they are 'living' sovereign institutions. We present the argument below in more detail- the pros and cons for this application in order for a consultation within the global Sikh community. In addition to this website, we are taking this argument into the community. Witness84 was able to get hands on this 'very secret' document - an event that in itself sent alarm signals. We have studied this document and had lawyers in the UK deliberate on the documents. Witness84 is taking a stand of opposing this application with the most forceful vigour. Our campaign is to make representations to UNESCO and SGPC - we make these letters available below for YOU to join in and make this a common Panthic campaign, which requires urgent action as the application is at an advanced stage. In addition, we are building a PETITION page by the end of this week.. please show us your support by signing this. Should sri harmandir Sahib have a heritage status ? In the the above site , also listed advantages / disadvantages ? If heritage status , how would it impact the Sikhs ? Should this be stopped ?
  2. Total disgrace , let the people starve , but hey we need weapons "just in case" we get attacked.
  3. To add to Dalsingh , if you believe in " pyhsical form" , when will this be ? ( days, months , years ....) I personally I believe if there are injustices in the world its a duty of a sikh to stand up and fight against atrocities/injustices. I was listening to Bhai Baljit Singh katha on Sri Guru Gobind Singhs ( battles) , and he stated Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji fought 14 battles , from age of 18 to 38 , most of his life . The Singhs and Singhni , the Khalsa where Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji resides can collectively in "Pyhsical Form" fight against injustices NOW, and some are doing this already today. If people believe Guru Ji will come in physical form like the past then all good but it shouldn't stop us today , all joining together, coming under one umbrella to fight the injustices.
  4. I think guru ji has never left and is with us 24x7 , we just need to know how to communicate with guru ji and agree with dalsingh We are too busy looking at others to take the next step(me included) , and I believe when one takes Amrit , he / she has chosen to follow a path where the guru ( sri guru granth sahib) will guide you , will give you strength , but we must believe and practice. Action speaks louder than words , if one singh/singhni stands up against injustice/ a cause then we must ALL stand up with them,( we have social media , TV channels to send out information) if one goes to rallies to make a point then we must all do the same. I believe the nagar kirtans for vasakhi should be used to wake up the kohm , get them actively involved in serving the Panth. Because so many people want to stand up and help but are either reluctant , scared or cant be bothered , so these type of people it may be necessary to give them actions , to allocate them tasks just to give them a push start rather than waiting for them to volunteer, you never know one could be the next leader , role model for all Sikhs. Total respect goes out to Basics of Sikhi , who are actively going out their in the sangat and educating them be they black/white . Now if we all did that , i think the result would be a) more would want to find out about how beautiful Sikhi is We as a kohm would get more recognition and support ... sadly its all about a numbers game , the bigger one is in terms of numbers the more of a say you have in society , now in Sikhi we say its a Universal religion , lets tell people about it , do what basics of sikhi are doing spreading the Gurus word , lets not be scared about a few knock backs , a few negative feedbacks ... But to start we need our Guru Ghar to follow the same Rehat , to all talk the same talk walk the same walk , again perfect oppurtunity at Nagar Kirtans to do this , and where Guru Ghar are already doing this , having no quibbles make them the "Mentors" , let them set the standards so we all can follow. If we are in rehat and disciplined , Guru Gobind SIngh ji will be there
  5. Just been looking and some of the videos on basics of sikhi and came across the following, Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj said to his sikhs Rehinee rehai soee sikh maeraa ouh sahib mai ous ka chaeraa The one who remains in discipline is a sikh of mine. He becomes the master and i'll be the servant. How beautiful is this .. see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9qmEqZqBVk
  6. Ramgarhia , you dont have to prove anything to your friends , if sikhism inspires you , makes you a better person , you want to learn more from within , then carry on learning when your time comes waherguru will do kirpa on you and make you a true gursikh of Guru Gobind Singh Ji , but dont stop seek guidance from someone who is on the path already, seek guidance from the Guru ( sri guru granth sahib ji ) .. If your mates say your a hindu , then so what , if your mates say your a sikh again then so what ....as jaikaarra mentions its inside you , if you know the truth , that what matters most , its from your actions people will realise the truth .
  7. Hi I think the definition of a true sikh is one 1. who keeps their rehat 2. leads a disciplined life according to the teachings of Sikhism and Sri Guru granth sahib ji 3. Who tries to do nitem at amrit vela 4. who tries to do seva 5. who tries to learn sikh stories 6. who tries to be an inspiration to all , a role model 7. who tries to practice the gurus teachings 8. who inspires his /her family to come closer to sikhi by his/her actions 9. who tries to see all as equals 10. who fights for just causes 11. who is honest 12. who does not judge anyone 13. who learns Gurmat sangeet 14. who learns Gurbani and much much more
  8. SIKH CHANNEL show solidarity against racism On Thursday 22nd January 2015, Sikh Channel will join along with hundreds of members of the Welsh community on the streets of Mold, North Wales in a “show of solidarity” against racism. The event has been organized in response to the attack on 24 year-old Sarandev Singh Bhambra in the town’s Tesco last week. The vicious attack has resulted in life changing injuries to the Leeds dentist who was working in Mold. There are approximately three thousand Sikhs living across Wales who form a small contingent of the overall Sikh population of the United Kingdom. Sikhs living in the United Kingdom are a peaceful and law-abiding community who are extremely proud of their ancestors who fought and died for Britain during the World Wars. Furthermore the Sikh community has contributed a staggering £7.63billion to the British economy. The British Sikh community are a well-integrated and productive element of British society however the overall silence over this attack is concerning to the community. “The Sikh community remain in shock over the incident. Sikh Channel has received hundreds of calls from Sikhs concerned about their safety. But the community feel emboldened by the support of the local community and particularly this event. We are a very strong and visible part of Britain’s fabric, so we appeal for calm and solidarity between all communities. We shouldn’t let the actions of a few ignorant individuals divide us. We encourage the Sikh community to attend this event in defiance to those who seek to divide us” states Kam Singh on behalf of Sikh Channel. Following an unprecedented response from the British Sikh community over this attack coupled with the concerning absence of mainstream media coverage, Sikh Channel are mobilizing the community to attend the event in order to demonstrate that “revenge terror” attacks will not be tolerated against any member of society. Sikh Channel is a United Kingdom based broadcaster and registered charity (No.1136163) providing education, entertainment, religious and cultural programming since 13th April 2009. Sikh Channel broadcasts on Sky channel 829, across Europe via satellite and in Canada on Bell Fibe TV Channel 667 and Rogers TV Channel 667. Sikh Channel is available internationally via http://www.sikhchannel.tv/live-tv. For further information contact Sikh Channel on: (0121) 380 1050 or email at:info@sikhchannel.tv.
  9. I think its still never too late to knock on their door and voice our concerns The only thing i dont seen is communication amongst our community , in the sense you have loads of Sikh bodies fighting for just causes , but I in particular dont see any regular updates/outcomes i.e. 1. The attack on Brar ( outcome ) 2. The issues faced by Sikhs , and protocols in place to highlight and resolve 3. The 1 million signatures signed and presented to the UN , what the outcome was /is 4. The recent stabbing 5. British involement in 1984 outcome 6. The outcome of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa hunger strike I think , since we have our own media we should highlight good and bad news that effects the Sikhs, like the recent France killings BBC/ITV/SKY were showing it constantly and all were kept up to date . Whether i'm watching too much cartoon network and miss the highlights where ever they are broadcasted. Then you have the net and social media sites , forums where you can pick up recent events .
  10. exactly my sentiments The minorities are not seen to be important
  11. Very bad indeed , the first i saw this was on the sikh channel scroll on Friday , Was this on the main BBC / ITV /SKY news at all ? Been on BBC's web site searched for tesco stabbing , couldnt find any hits ( unless i'm searching wrong)
  12. http://www.sikh24.com/2015/01/15/bhai-gurbaksh-singh-khalsas-second-hunger-strike-comes-to-an-end/#.VLjlSHC-2So Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa ends his hunger strike ( which is good ) But watching the regular updates on the Sikh Channels , something / power has had a great influence on this morcha . 1. Bhai Gurbaksh Singh taken to hospital , and no one allowed to see him 2. Sikh Channel presenter Gurpreet Singh Prince , hijacked for reporting and taken to a remote place 3. At luknaur where Bhai Gurbaksh Singh resided , some so called sikhs sitting and serving Gurbaksh Singh were taking note of everything and passing onto their superiors ( like spying , CID but , pretending to be the sangat supporting his cause ) 4. Seven Singhs were not allowed to sit anywhere in delhi for his support , not even in the Gurudawaras http://www.sikh24.com/2015/01/15/bhai-gurbaksh-singhs-supporters-forced-to-leave-delhi-leaving-the-future-of-morcha-in-question/#.VLjnVHC-2So Talk about freedom of speech / freedom of values , non existent in India. .

  15. As I understand where you are coming from , may i ask you what is a definition of a Sikh ?
  16. I agree with ragnarok , and just to add we must first realise and understand the definition of a Sikh. We may be born into a "sikh" family but does not make us a Sikh unless we follow the Guru's ( Dhan Dhan sir Guru Granth Sahib Ji ) hukam, live the Rehit of a Sikh and this anyone can follow.
  17. This is crazy, Guru ji wont care its the inner cleansing that needs to be focused on . I was watching Basics of Sikhi and Bhai Baljit Singh mentioned this about equality, during the lavan , who walks first , who walks second and he stated That whether mail / female walks first it doesnt matter but the fact that if one walks in front and the other behind , they are equally close to Guru Ji . For example the male walks first the distance from him and the guru will be equal as he walks around ... then the femaile walks behind , again the distance between her and the guru are equal .... where as if they walk side by side the person on the outter edge is further away from the Guru Again personally I think its a non issue . Guru is within us 24x7 its up to the individual how close one wants to get to the Guru.
  18. You still dont get it .. You cant even remember what you are writing now .. Please read your posts before posting Thats not waheguru , thats people ... each individual has a choice , the caste gurudawaras are peoples own doings , the Hindus caste system and their stance on lower castes are peoples own doings .. and nothing to do with religion and the purpose for holy places built . Read the truth in the scriptures you follow or believe in , if you keep going on about Sikh this, sikh that just to earn some points and feed your ego , you wont get anywhere ... now will it ?
  19. You dont get it at all do you ? Harmandir sahib is open to all , regardless of caste, colour ....period. No one will stop you going to harimandir Sahib except yourself , your own beliefs. Waheguru does not care which , Mandir, Gurudawara, mosque, church, synigog you go to or owned by x,y, or z , its your inner self that needs to make the connection and get blessed.
  20. Hindustani , you havent answered the questions ?
  21. Never heard this before , please explain. 1. Who were the Hindus that were machine gunned ? 2. Why were they machine gunned ? 3. During the arrest of Sant Ji , did the authorities not punish him ?
  22. Everything , i think it is one of those animations i would definitely watch over and over again , my little one and I came to the same same conclusion , and when watching we were glued and eagerly wanted to see the next scene. I think the characters of the chaar sahibzaade was captured very well ( Brave, loving, fearless )
  23. Wahe guru ji ka khalsa Wahe Guru Ji Ke fateh Piaree Sadh sangat Ji Any one see the Chaar SahibZaade animation movie ? I went to see it with the little on , absolutely fantastic , in my opinion i think it was a complete film which captured the bravery / chardi kala of the chaar sahibzaade. I think the movie had it all , i.e. happiness, emotional, bravery. If you havent seen it and if you get the opportunity to watch it please do .
  24. Hi Good point I think you will get especially on forums people from "all different backgrounds" , people who want to learn, debate, argue , score points etc.. We should be armed with knowledge and not shy away from answering such questions, with facts so that any questions be them good or bad can be backed up by "resources" especially when it comes to Sikhi. I still think there should be one central location where such documents can be obtained easily like a repository, we all then "sing" from the same sheet as they say regardless of which site/forum an individual is part of.
