  1. arent there any original historical sources saying that the institution of jhatka, came directly from the Gurus themselves? the rehat maryada does not mention anything about jhatka meat..
  2. well...the danish muslim league tried for 3 months to get a meeting with danish officials, and 11 ambasadors tried as well, but the officials did not want to meet with them.. so after rejection for 3 months, they went to the middle east, and then the crisis exploded...
  3. who are these kaala afghanas? what do they say , since people do not like them
  4. i live in denmark, and you have probably all heard about the Muhamamd cartoons that were published by a danish newspaper last year. well...things seems odd..they havent learnt from their lessons....the arab world boycotted danish products which resulted in the loss of 1. billion danish krones, and now the crisis is up again, after some politicians made a "who can draw Muhammad the funniest" competion..the winner was a camel with Muhammads face on it, drinking beer... yesterday a new article in a danish newspaper was added saying Muhammad was a phedophile..... the danish politicians call it "freedom of speach"....
  5. is there any historical referances to Guru Gobind Singh or Guru Har Gobind talking about how to perform jhatka meat? it says that its for people who do not eat meat at a regular basis.. how are sikhs supose to kill the animals if it is to be eaten at home? it seems to be a very spiritual "ceremony", so i was wondering; can it be done at home or does it hav to be done near a Gurdwara? and since we have no human Guru, how is Guru Granth Sahib suppose to touch the Langar with a sword to make it Guru Ka Langar.
  6. Waheguri ki ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh. i heard that a brother of ours have become a true akaali, and that he can only eat jhatka meat only, as he is very strickt on this. i dont really know much about jhatka, and i could not find anything in the Dasam Granth or any other sikh book i can get my hands on, so i wondered..when was this feature about jhatka started? was it with Guru Gobind Singh, or was it initiated by the later Panth of sikhism? can anyone give sources and texts that tells when it was initieated into sikhism, and also HOW Jhatka is performed.. i found a few things about it on the net, and it all says the animal has to be killed in one stroke.. is there a speciel reason for it has to be one stroke only? and what else is done... do we envoke the name of God while stroking the animal or performing an Ardass, and if so, what is being said? how is it performed, detail by detail... and does one have to kill the animal himself? or is it okay if others have killed the animal as long as it is in jhatka style...
  7. it is from Chaupai Sahib and it is the Sawaiyee or Dohra if i remember corrrectly..
  8. the debate says something about Guru Nanak came in the three earlier Yugas as well.. can someone tell me more about this?
  9. can someone translate and explain these verses to me: "Pahein gahay jabtay tumray, tab tay kou aankh taray nahi aanyo. Ram Rahim Puran Qoran anek kahay mut ek na maanyo. Simarat Shastra Bed sabai bahu bhed kahai hum ek na jaanyo. Sri Aspaan kripa tumri kar mai na kahyo Sabh toh bakhaanyo." does it mean that Quran is false or?
  10. lol..had'n seen that it was made by a sikh website i dont know the magazine, so i just figured it was real ;D
  11. can anyone confirm that this is true..i have only heard about the one in Iraq..

  13. The scriptures say that there are 18,000 worlds, but in reality, there is only One Universe. this is said in Japji sahib...it says Kateba, which must mean that the above "scriptures" is the Quran and bible. but these books does not say that there are 18.000 worls :S
  14. i find this interesting: Page 1290, Line maas puraanee maas kaytaabeeN chahu jug maas kamaanaa. Meat is allowed in the Puraanas, meat is allowed in the Bible and the Koran. Throughout the four ages, meat has been used. if we read what Guru Nanak Dev ji says about these yugas: Page 903, Line tihu jug kayraa rahi-aa tapaavas jay gun deh ta paa-ee-ai. ||1|| rahaa-o. The justice of the previous three ages is gone. One obtains virtue, only if the Lord bestows it. ||1||Pause|| Guru Nanak Dev if the humans in the three past Yugas were just and perfekt and not affected by the sins of KaalYug, then why did they eat meat if it is a sin? if they were perfect, and they ate meat, it must mean that eating meat is not a sin.right?
  15. what about the second and third verse? can you provide us with the verses from the Bhai Gurdass vaara? i have also heard there is a vaara from Bhai Gurdass inwhich he narrates a story about a tiger eating a goat, where as the goat says "if i have been killed in this brutal way for eating grass only, then what will happen to you??" or something similar...
  16. the verses are included in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj so i can not just ignore them, as they were specificly singled out by Guru Arjan Dev Maharaj himself.
  17. Waheguru ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh. how does a "meat eating sikh" interpret these lines(and Kabirs Jees bani in genral): jee-a baDhahu so Dharam kar thaapahu aDhram kahhu kat bhaa-ee. You kill living beings, and call it a righteous action. Tell me, brother, what would you call an unrighteous action? aapas ka-o munivar kar thaapahu kaa ka-o kahhu kasaa-ee. ||2|| You call yourself the most excellent sage; then who would you call a butcher? ||2|| man kay anDhay aap na boojhhu kaahi bujhaavahu bhaa-ee. You are blind in your mind, and do not understand your own self; how can you make others understand, O brother? page 1103 and Page 483, Line rojaa Dharai manaavai alhu su-aadat jee-a sanghaarai. You keep your fasts to please Allah, while you murder other beings for pleasure. Devotee Kabir and: Page 1374, Line kabeer joree kee-ay julam hai kahtaa naa-o halaal. Kabeer, to use force is tyranny, even if you call it legal. daftar laykhaa maaNgee-ai tab ho-igo ka-un havaal. ||187|| When your account is called for in the Court of the Lord, what will your condition be then? kabeer khoob khaanaa kheechree jaa meh amrit lon. Kabeer, the dinner of beans and rice is excellent, if it is flavored with salt. hayraa rotee kaarnay galaa kataavai ka-un. ||188|| Who would cut his throat, to have meat with his bread? kabeer gur laagaa tab jaanee-ai mitai moh tan taap. Kabeer, one is known to have been touched by the Guru, only when his emotional attachment and physical illnesses are eradicated. as i have read, kabir was a strict vegetarian. how could his verses be included in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj, if sikhi promotes meat-eating?
