  1. Panch shabad = drums, bells, string instruments, flutes etc = divine music (Ragas which is why Gurbani adopts Raga Vidiya)

  5. Vastu = an object/entity veechar = contemplate/gyaan of what it really is. So basically at the moment you see all the world as name and object. You see women as an object of sexual pleasure (kaam). You have to change this default phenomenon (Man Locheh Buriayia Patsahi 9) through vastu veechar. Through the correct thinking (gyaan) and contemplation (veechar) of kaam you change your outlook from Kanchan Naree Me Jeo Labit Hai "you are attracted to beautiful woman - GGS" to Baba Bikh Dekeya Sansar " Baba i know see the world full of poison - GGS" The word Bikh means poison and from this comes word like Bikaar. Vikaar, Vish etc. Satguru isn't referring to cyanide or some other poison in a bottle. They use this as a poetical metaphor for: maya, women, gold property, children, family, agyaanta of your true swaroop, panj chor, the body and its senses.
  6. food consumption equals kaam, therefore Ona Dunia Thoreh Bandana, An Paanee Thora Khaya (Asa Ki Var) kill kaam vashna with vastuu veechar - do you know what this is

  8. Seeing all the problems in Gurdwaras some of the reasons are because: Committee of elders see their priority as normal smooth day to day running of the temple. Booking weddings, Akhand Paath, Sukhmani Sahib, Langar, Birthdays etc. They often see the Gurdwara solely as a source of income which is then used towards Kabbadi tournaments or sponsorship of people like Sarbjeet Gunda aswell as on Nagar Keertan etc. However they do not consider the needs and problems arising form their community. Committees don't see themselves as sevadaars but as the authoritive management who have power, wheras a Gurdwara is maintained by the congregations wishes and suggestions. Any serious matter should require engagement with the sangat and not a sole decision by the Committee overnight. Akal Takhat Hukamnamas also have to be implemented. The youth see the Gurdwara as their true home; a place of spirituality and a place from where they can do parchaar, hold classes, do numerous activities such as sport event/social activities etc. Very often i see committee's very reluctant to help the youth because they are only interested in the day to day running of the Gurdwara and that the youth are seen as immature who make a lot of noise and fuss and abuse the facilities provided to them (which is true such as not cleaning a room after use). Now in this case and many other times when the Police are called - the result is only disgrace to the Sikh Community and disrespect of Guru Granth Sahib. In my opinion the committee should not have called the police but allowed a proper santhiya class to take place, but with the condition that their needs to be some leadership of this class and somebody accountable who can come and speak with the management committee to resolve any issues. Making cheap youtube videos and slandering each party is a deestructive way to go about a problem. The major problem with Gurdwaras today is what i call the 'old age kingship syndrome' - old age Sikhs do not wish to transfer management of the Gurdwara to young, educated, skillful and firm faithed Sikhs who can bring the Gurdwara into the 21st Century. They have this mentality of authority/possessiveness, politics and shame and fame game. Gurdwaras are predominantly managed by people in their 50' /60's and don't have any knowledge of Sikhism and don't live to the ideals of the Khalsa. for example many will have cut beards etc. Until the youth and their needs are not addressed problems will increase. Any management committee needs to see themselves as those who have been selected/elected to do the most seva for the Gurdwara and the sangat, and not behave like George Bush does. Gurdwara is a place of worship and is not the place for political rivaries and abuse of power/trust. Those that want to play politics should go and join a political party. Also the youth need to grow up and engage in dialogue through having a structure of leadership based on those persons who have a record of seva and simran. Simply resolving to complete igorance of the management committee is not the solution. The youth need to raise their voice and concerns in a more politically coherent way rather than ingnoring and slandering the management. There is not one Gurdwara managed in the UK by young British born Sikhs. I think they should be given a chance to prove themselves capable of not causing dramas and violence in a place of worship/ spirituality and solace. Though i very much doubt they are upto the challenge

  14. End of the day you only eat meat because you beleive it to be nutrional, but buffalo milk is far more nutrious and so are beans/pulses, almonds and maize flour. Gurmat siddhant is alap ahaar and alap nindra. (reduction in sleep and food) This does NOT mean that when you do eat that it should not be nutrious infact to the contrary. Thats why if you see the langar during Guru's times it used to be highly nutritious. Same applies to sleep - when you do go to sleep you make sure you sleep well. The Gurmat siddant is that the khalsa are not a bunch of lazy dozy day dreamers and when it comes to diet their food is nutritious but they are not food junkies (labh) interested in eating out/fine dining and yes all types of tasty non veg dishes. This is what Kabeer is saying in the shabad Koob khanee kicheree. Gurbani clearly is against meat but contradicts sikh history.
  15. Those behangams that stay at his kutiya are not allowed at all to leave the dera and have left their parents/family they are basically virakat sadhus. I remember one of em he was pure mast. To pass baba jee's kasvatee is very hard. I remember Sant Jee saying that even though these singh;s have high jeevan baba jee himslef had do to even harder seva of the mahapurks he stayed with such as going only one water for 3 months. When i stayed there was 2 singhs from canada they were learnng keertan and santhya. I guess its all about who hwe gives permission to. Harkovale have massive jeevan, antarjamta, see the future everything, they are like Baba Mohan Singh Bindranvale
  16. Sant Jagjeet Singh have a small cottage within some fields (perimeter boarded) very close to Gurdwara Ber Sahib. If you face the Gurdwara Ber Sahib from the car park entrance it is on your left about 100 yards away. Just ask anyone because mahapursh are highly known and respected in the area. They have followed a strict routine all there lives and rarely leave their dera. During the day they do allocate some time after noon for talking to sangat and helping people with their problems and arranging seva such as langars etc, but most of the time they remain in Guru Granth Sahib's seva or teaching a few behgams. In the evening they walk about the dera into the night whilst reciting simran and gurbani. They rise at 2.30 am. These are things i have seen all with my own eyes. They have a singh from the UK who is the caretaker of the dera...they also have a singh who baba jee has imparted huge vidiya to, he is from the vilage Sultanpur Lodhi popularly known as loyeeaa. His phone number is +918146306969 best to find out out sant jee are their may save you a visit...but a visit to that area is recommendeed anyway as it has massive pehra of Guru Nanak Dev Jee just as Hazur Sahib has of Dashmesh Pita. thyere are 14 Gurdwaras in the area worth seeing related to Guru Jee not to mention sadhus of the area like Baba Kahn Das
