  1. I do understand you point of being a 'girl' in a desi family. Surely things will not go smoothly, and parents will not understand or will have a difficult time understaing the reason for your failure as they expected you to pass school with flying color. Regardless what has happened has happened. Have you talked to a counsler about this, to see if you can be put on probation or something so you can continue to stay in the Uni. I'm sure you have by now but you should explore all of your option. There is always one relation that a one feels closer to or feels more comfortable with, be it your mother, father, brother, uncle or whomever. I suggest if you have someone as such then go to them and tell them first. That way you can atlest have someone to confide in. As many others have given you great advice on how to deal with it, it is not the end of the world. My brother went to Uni for 7-8 years and only came out with a BS, hes got a good job. Sure he wasted few extra years, but for him it was necessary. What year in Uni are you?
  2. All of us have felt failure at one point or another. Look at the bright side, it is a new start for you. Take this as a positive thing. What you went thru you had to go through to realize what you just realized about who you wanted to be. I do not see failure, i see simply a reason to make you realize what you needed to do. Nothing in this world happens without purpose or reason. If you are happy today that you have finallly found something you are passionate about studying then whatever event happened to make you realize this is not a bad thing rather it is a necessary event. See the brightness ahead of you, not the darkness that surrounds you. Take this as a stepping stone and move forward.

  6. All things in this worldly existence That are colored by attachment and aversion Are in reality devoid of any existence. When this is seen, everything is seen as golden. When we meditate upon the illusion-like nature Of all illusion-like phenomena, We attain illusion-like enlightenment. ~ Dakini Niguma, sung to Tibetan yogi Khyungpo Naljor in a charnal ground, 11th Century A.D., India (trans. Glenn Mullin)
  7. intersting ... so is Giras the same as when a muj/buffalo regurgitate its food and chews it again in its mouth?? isn't that called giras as well? sorry i might be totally off on this?
  8. First of all your whole approach to Salvation is wrong, NO religion can grant you salvation, Love alone IS and WILL BE the cause for your salvation. All Religion does is that it prepares you so that Love can sprout. Following rituals, rites, ceremonies does nothing until and unless Love has not premeated yoru being. You can follow whatever religion you want, without Love it is but an empty pitcher you are carrying. This Love is not the ordinary confined Love that streaches only as far as your relations or those who are in the same caste, religion, race as you might be, but it goes beyond all boundries. So bash whatever religion you want, if today your task is to present your biased view of sikhi then i feel sad for you because i am curious as to what have you gained out of all of this. It is rather pitiful that you being a hindu/christian or whatever lable you consider your ego to be failed to see the true intentions of your own religion. Following the teaching of your religion that haven't yet brought you to salvation you dare attack another religion for its delivery to salvation. FIRST Attain YOUR salvation. THEN come back and speak as if you have authority. Today you have NONE. You speak of France but you have not been there. You speak of Paris but you have only heard of it. You criticize the way people live and its history while reading from books, without living in their ways with your full heart. Standing aside you question the status of water, fearing to get your feet wet. How can you know anything? Light your own self first before you begin to attack anothers for not being lit. btw don't worry this isn't only for you, this is as much for you as it is for 'Sikhs' who share your views towards other religions.
  9. This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. Dalai Lama
  10. 1Cr 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [Greek: agape 'LOVE'], I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal 1Cr 13:2 And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity [Greek: agape 'LOVE'], I am nothing. 1Cr 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity [Greek: agape 'LOVE'], it profiteth me nothing.
  11. It is through not understanding, not penetrating four things that we have run so erratically, wandered on so long in this round of existence, both you and I. What are the four? Goodness, concentration, wisdom, and liberation. When these four things are understood and penetrated, craving for superficial existence is rooted out and that which leads to continued return to the same conditions is ended. ~ The Buddha, Digha Nikaya From Buddha Speaks, edited by Anne Bancroft, 2000
  12. i don't think it could've been said any better than that.

  15. 6. The sixth chakra, Ajna chakra, is located in the middle of the forehead, in between the brows. It also bears the names The Third Eye or Shiva's Eye and it represents the superior mental consciousness that favors the direct perception over the invisible worlds, and the direct perception of the subtle aspects of manifestation. In its harmonious aspect, Ajna chakra gives great mental insight, self-control, clairvoyance, superior intuition, and extrasensorial perception. On a physical level, it coordinates the activity of the pituitary gland and of the small brain. The hypophysis has a vital role in organism, in the sense that together with the hypothalamus they act as the command system of all other endocrine glands. Consequently, Ajna chakra has a vital role not only in the spiritual awakening of a person, but also in the chemistry of the body.
  16. ... Suddenly I realize, That if I stepped out of my body I would break Into blossom. ~ End of James Wright's famous poem A Blessing
  17. I have read this many times and personally i find the first part to be full of descrimination, guilt, hate and racism which has nothing to do with Kaam. Lust is not based on being white, mona, fat, meat eater etc. To compare those who are not the like ness of Gursikhs and deem them to be the cause of Kaam is just plain ignorant. To use their indifferences as a means to relieve yourself of kaam is not healty. You then along side of trying to help you elieviate yourself from this desire you begin to create a superiority complex which can also become a problem. They are Monays, they eat mean, they cut their hair, wax their legs, are full of Kaam, etc. Using what may seem as a weakness to one of another to control your desire as if it was a disease, yo usimply trade one problem for another. I am sure his intentions were great and the rest of it i can somewhat agree with but such example to me personally do not seem healthy.
  18. you can become sidetracked by getting attached to the experience (as a goal) and dropping your Sadhna. Perhaps one day you won't get a sensation, will you be dissappointed or continue your Sadhna? By no means am i trying to say you will go astray, what you are experiencing is beautiful and by all means you should enjoy it. Although your experience is very common among True Sadhiks. Just that many more experiences will come your way and each experience will bring about a new transformation. But the light you speak of which you could not see is what concerns me a bit. To expect something from an experience can be unhealthy for your progress. Your expectations alone will hinder your progress. Expect nothing when going into Dhyaan. Let whatever happen happen on its own accord and pace. Let your experiences come accordingly to what you are capable of experiencing. What you have experienced is your landmark in your journey, enjoy it, be greatful for it. Best advice i can give you is that you Pray for Guidence. here is the pic:
  19. dude my pind is like 5km from nanaksar. I've been there countless times.
  20. This is a cut from a discource given by Baba Ishar Singh Ji in 1961. Baba Waryam Singh Jee had had it translated into english and published in the book discourses of the beyond 2. 6. Aagiya Chakkar – (Medular Plexus) It is located at the root of the two eyes and the nose. Here is situated an inverted lotus with 2 petals, white like the moon. Its two letters are (khya and gya). It is called the Udiyang throne. Here the yogis meditate upon God himself, the giver of salvation. Phal (fruit or result). Whatever fruit (gain) is achieved by the meditation of the various above-mentioned chakkars, can be obtained by the meditation of this single Chakkar. Hence the great souls lay emphasis on concentrating one’s mind on this Chakkar, named Agya Chakkar. When living force and mind are stabilized at this place, it has the potentiality of being able to practise Samparigyat Samadhi (Transcendental Meditation). enjoy it while it lasts and be thankful for it. also understand that such experiences are not the end of all ends, rather they are simply passing manifestations in your journey, sorta like Landmarks, they are not to be taken as the destination instead enjoyed with gratitude. Sometimes they can also sidetrack you from your Sadhna, so be headstrong in your Jap/Simran.
