  1. They are names of Supreme God in different religions. Brahma in Vedant, Vishnu in Vaishavism and Shiv in Shaivism. But see when I name God in three different ways, now it sounds like three different Gods. Suppose I call God 'Trubba' one day, then 'Bubba' another day and then 'Jubba' on the third day. That person who cannot see who I am talking about, they think I am talking about three different people. Because they have no experience of God, they think it's three different people. To make it even more confusing, you have - for example - Vaishnav texts in which - 1. They call the Supreme God as Vishnu. 2. But then they also say Vishnu created Brahma-Vishnu-Shiv. 3. And that Brahma and Shiv bow down to Vishnu. 4. They might even say Brahma-Vishnu-Shiv are also effected by Ahankar. (Other texts may mirror this.) So you have this hierarchy - 1 Vishnu - topmost, absolute consciousness 2 Maya - the world 3 Brahma-Vishnu-Shiv - as existing within the world Other things etc, like Gurus, people, animals - as existing within the world So Vishnu creates Brahma-Vishnu-Shiv... But wait there's more! Then they will have some avtars as well. So in the Vaishnav example, we have - 1. Vaman 2. Narsingh 3. Ram 4. Krishna etc And these are same as Vishnu So you have this hierarchy - 1. Vishnu - also Vaman, Narsingh, Ram, Krishna because they are Vishnu 2. Maya 3. Brahma-Vishnu-Shiv 4. Other things etc, like Gurus, people, animals - as existing within the world - also Vaman, Narsingh, Ram, Krishna because they are in the created world Just wait. There's more! Then you have your Guru, who by meditative practice or by divine grace has merged into Vishnu so ... So you have this hierarchy - 1. Vishnu - also Vaman, Narsingh, Ram, Krishna because they are Vishnu and your Guru, because he has merged into Vishnu 2. Maya - the world 3. Brahma-Vishnu-Shiv 4. Other things etc, like Gurus, people, animals - as existing within the world - also Vaman, Narsingh, Ram, Krishna because they are in the created world Are you confused yet bro? Are you confused yet?!? Let me know if you are confused and whether or not you want to resolve this confusion.
  2. My answer is the same as it is for all things in life - Step 1 Set a Goal for yourself Step 2 Accomplish the Goal Many on the forum will tell you not to focus on the sound rather focus on Mantra. This is because they have set that goal for themselves that we are only going to focus on mantra and then they try to accomplish this goal and try to ignore the distractions that take them away from the goal. For me personally, I like to experiment and I like to set different goals. I sometimes set the goal of focusing on my mantra but at other times, I set other goals like focusing the sounds or other spiritual experiences. In Guru Granth Sahib the various poets describe the sounds differently and they tell us that there are 5 types, sometimes more. They say it sounds like several instruments. 1. So I set a goal that I will focus on the sounds and clarify them more. Try to separate the sound of silence into distinct sounds - tones, vibrating strings, atmospheric sounds, etc. One of my clients told me that they are able to listen to Anhad naad, he called it Om di dhwani, even when there is loud noise outside, and he said he can increase the Dhwani to be even louder than the loudest sounds. So I wanted to try this for myself. 2. So sometimes I try to make the sounds louder and louder by focusing my attention on them. 3. Sometimes I try to carry the sounds with me into noise. All this time, I am setting goals, and moving towards the goal while ignoring other distractions on the path. I train my concentration in whatever activity I do. It is not limited to sounds and stuff. If I am taking a dump, I'll practice my concentration on that and have a more satisfying dump. It's a good time to meditate and everybody wants a really satisfying dump lol
  3. Cool. This is part of the Anhad Naad. It is the sound of silence. It normally arises from an intense presence of silence. When you become silent in the mind and when it is silent outside, then you will hear this. But it will start to go away as your mind becomes noisy and as your outside environment becomes noisy. You will start hearing those sounds instead. It is not always necessarily connected to outside noises or mental noise but it often is. It is often related to silence. Sometimes you will randomly hear it, even when the mind is not silent or environment is not silent, when you do just become silent and listen to silence. This sound is a Sign to remain silent.
  4. That's it. I thought you would disagree that Guru Sahib is not God and so I came prepared to say "agree to disagree. bye" lol. But you have surprised me, I agree that this is what Guru Granth sahib teaches. You are knowledgeable on this topic. I can't see if you have experienced it, but I can see you have studied the worldview. So this understanding you have given in your post, apply it to the Poets in Guru Granth Sahib. This is how the Poets viewed Ram Chandra ji and Krishan ji.
  5. I don't think this is the case. It is possible India had early men-ape like creatures since India was a rich and diverse continent, species-wise. But I don't think the Vanars from Ramayan are those ape-men. I think they might have been tribal peoples living in forests. Vanar is Van - Nar is Forest - Man. Also the early ape-to-man transitional creatures did not have tails. Apes don't have tails. To be fair, there could be a connection. Since it is difficult to pin down the events of Ramayan on the timeline, it maybe so that the Ramayan happened when there were other human species still around, some of whom resembled apes. But then how would you explain characters like Jambwant? @amardeep , you had the theory about the tribal insignias. Where each tribe had a certain animal as their symbol. you wana pitch in? I think it makes sense that certain tribes would have the lemur symbol. Others had the sloth bear symbol - ie the tribe of Jambwant. So later as the story was retold over and over, those tribes were represented by the animals as it made for more a interesting story.
  6. How do we know it is from Nam Dev ji?... aside from the sakhi saying it's from Nam Dev ji. What's so amazing about that?
  7. It is probably a feeling of unrest. Anyways, the idea is of this exercise i was doing with you, was to bring more clarity into your experience. When you meditate you are training your concentration to the point where you can clearly see your experience, as you are experiencing it. As you watch your experience as clearly as possible, you will develop insights into your own nature.
  8. Gotta be clear about whether you are feeling a feeling of missing peace or missing the source of peace. It's a subtle difference. The source of peace can be felt even when there is no peace.
  9. I asked - What were you missing? You said - God What is God in your heart? A feeling? Don't give me a description of God you read or heard. Tell me what you thought was there in your mind.
  10. Think about the times when you were happy or sad. Why were you happy or sad?
  11. Yes it happens. This is because emotions come from within. People can choose to be happy. But they are too attached to negative emotions.
