  1. I think neo made an extremely important point here..people talk about khalistan on the internet and have marches in the streets..but what REAL action is being taken? Im not talking about going on killing sprees (it wouldnt acheive anything) im talking about getting jobs in politics/making contacts/working hard, etc. Instead these khalistanis are "gyanis" and "preachers" and all other kinds of powerless jobs (in politics.) I too was a khalistani..until i realised we have no khalsa to have khalistan..and we have no leaders to make this ideal feasible. Im totally against oppression, but asking for khalistan wont stop this. Its something we have to do politically..and 84 prooved that in india, we cant win fighting physically. We have to use the pen. Sadh sangat ji, in the words of jarnail singh bindrawale (note theres no shaheed there ) 'im not for khalistan, and neither am i against it..if they(india) handed to us, they we will accept it.'
  2. Fighting for faith and nation- cynthia mahmood. Quality book.
  3. lol..i think that was out the window agezzzzzz ago
  4. o ok. and singh, im getting kinda worried about these random spells of love and affection..especially towards guys pm me cough cough
  5. Maybe we should have an adults room? (sorry kids) hehe..we can be all naughty and use swear words too
  6. (in regards to discrimination)..everything else u say i agree with totally!
  7. Ive always been here and there..sometimes against..sometimes for. Much like neo singh Ive never been for khalistan..but then im not pro hindustan either..after all, its the same nation who stood there and watched us get oppressed by the government. Most khalistanis in punjab have left punjab (obvious reasons) so naturally those left in punjab dnt represent the real struggle..because most of them left are either scared or just not relegious (hence no discrimination.) As for it happening today..well i have a good friend of mine (new to sikhi) and shes just come back from india..and o, how wrong u are neo paji!
  8. This is the problem with sikhi hunah, well these days. Seems like the wrong people are the mouth of the panth (sgpc). Ive always heard nothing is fruitful if ur not amrit dhari. Thats absurd. I agree amrit is important, and maybe im wrong, but i think its not the physical amrit itself which is powerful, but the spiritual/mental effect as well as the grace of the guru which results when taking amrit; and this is because one is declaring to spend their life as a gursikh in the service of the guru, and as a slave of waheguru. There is always some kind of initiation into a fold (monks shave, etc) in the same way we declare our love and put our heads on our hands when we take amrit..and this can be charun pahul or khande ke pahul. I think the former should be more 'commercial' for people, and guaranteed there would be an influx of people following sikhis essence i.e kirt karna/naam japna/vand shakna. And ultimately, these basics are the root of sikhi, which most people DONT follow. I say lets focus on these qualities and learn to accept people at different levels of spirituality; if a persons not ready to be khalsa, so what? Everyone has to start somewhere, and with this elite attitude there would be no khalsa..there would be no sikhs. Even the biggest sinner has to naam jap to clear his debts..or even begin that journey of perfection. Ok, im going on one now..but in conclusion, ANYONE can naam jap. ANYONE can do sewa of any kind they choose (providing its for the right reasons.) Regardless of relegion..sex..race..etc. Lets not forget bhai mardhana, bhagat kabir, baba sheikh farid, bhai kaneya, etc were not 'amrit dhari' yet they were in union with waheguru..and to get there im sure there was some level of meditation/mantra.
  9. Ive emailed them (numerous occasions for different reasons but they never get back to me) so out of interest, whats the akhara like? Anyone go to it? Whats the group like- is it big? And most importantly, where the frogs is the church?? (i dnt know slough 'ends' well) GURFATEH
  10. There plenty of singh to go around! woooooooooooooooooo come join the par-taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
  11. There is a clear distinction between a gurus sikh/a disciple and a khalsa. Just because followers of the gurus were not amrit dhari before the khalsa was formed, doesnt mean they werent sikhs. You CAN be sikh and not have the panj kakkar, most definitely, but the only thing i would suggest (which doesnt mean squat but this is my opinion) is that u should keep ur dhari and take charan de pahul, to declare ur love for ur guru (and look distinct and manly) without having to become khalsa. Having bits of protein hang off ur head and chin does NOT make u a singh!! Without the sacred amrit and being a khalsa, no one has the right to call himself a singh!!
  12. hehe at inder singh. and thanx lalleshvari- i thought so!
  13. Sorry, i meant bana as in the dress (NOT the panj kakkar.) And i agree with what ur saying. We should make an effort for ur satguru; at least if not all the time, then when we go gurudwara. Well when i go india this year im gonna get loads made (banai.) Watch out uk gurudwarai here i come! wooooooooooooooooooooo
  14. veera lalleshvari, do u wear the bana, and do u think as sikhs, we should all wear them/be proud of wearing them? i would love to start wearing bana, because i think it looks beautiful, but then im scared of what people in my family are gonna think ('o no,hes turned into a terrorist' and so forth.)
  15. kenyan kala singh, excellent post! and lil princess stop asking silly q's!-we all know earins are not for khalsa peeps! lol nah joke ok ive decided im not going to get them done..how about tatoos??
