  1. I can't really comment on the accuracy of R.C.Zaehners translation of this Rig Ved verse, but I hope it's whet your apetite for Vedik scripture.
  2. The following is from Hindu Scriptures Translated by R.C.Zaehner. Rig Veda X, cxxix: 'In the Beginning...' 1. Then neither Being nor Not-being was, Nor atmosphere, nor firmament, nor what is beyond. What did it encompass? Where? In whose protection? What was the water, the deep, unfathomable? 2. Neither death nor immortality was there then, No sign of night or day. The One breathed windless, by its own energy (svadha): Nought else existed then. 3. In the beginning was darkness swathed in darkness; All this was but unmanifested water. Whatever was, that One, coming into being, Hidden by the Void, Was generated by the power of heat (tapas). 4. In the beginning this One evolved, Became desire, first seed of mind. Wise seers, searching within their hearts, Found the bond of Being in Not-being. 5. Their cord was extended athwart: Was there below? Was there an above? Casters of seed there were, and powers; Beneath was energy, above was impulse. 6. Who knows truly? Who can here declare it? Whence it was born, whence is this emanation. By the emanation of this the gods Only later [came to be]. Who then knows whence it has arisen? 7. Whence this emanation hath arisen, Wether [God} disposed it, or wether he did not, - Only he who is its overseer in highest heaven knows. [He only knows,] or perhaps he does not know.
  3. Everyone should read Srimad Bhagvad Gita.Go to your local libray, it should be there in English translation. And remember what Sri Krishan stands for, your real Self...
  4. I find this highly offensive.Whoever typed that is an anti-Semitic bigot.
  5. Khande ka Pahul is not obligatory for a Sikh of Satguru Nanak. Now if you talk about Amrit, then I say Amrit has always existed and always will. Sikhi = Truth = Sikhi Satguru Nanak Nirankar = Truth Gurbani = Truth Srimad Bhagvad Gita = Truth Sri Ishopanishad = Truth Sri Yoga Vasishta = Truth Veda = Truth Sri Gautam Buddha = Truth Christ = Truth And before these scriptures and Mahapurush ever existed, Sikhi existed. Hari Om Shanti Shanti Shanti...
  6. In reply to Bhai Sahib Ji, -Naam = Gurshabad, seva, simran, Amrit etc.All things come from Naam. This whole world comes form Naam. You know that. You are being too literalist, like a Muslim or Christian literalist. It is the literalists in any mystic tradition who bring about destruction of Truth. According to your keen observation I am a manmat.Fine, whatever makes you happy. You may accuse me of being anything.Aslong as you are happy my friend. I am sorry, but I will beg to differ.I do not accept your pause in this Gurbani tuk.It is: Nanak kai ghar keval Naam(In the House of Nanak, there in only Naam). You have not changed my belief in that. Ofcourse, the difference between my perception and your perception is clear to see. That still doesn’t mean I accept your opinion. We will have to agree to disagree. Stay happy.
  7. More diarrhoea, looks these pople have the sh**s: http://www.whyichosesikhism.com/?p=answers&ans=10 This site is full of evidence that they are misleading the vunerable and ignorant Sikh youth.
  8. This site is full of mis-translations and misleading interpretations. http://www.whyichosesikhism.com/?p=answers&ans=4 They have completely misinterpreted this too.It is: In the House of Nanak, there is only Naam. This is yet another deliberate misleading interpretation by them. These people are trying to mislead the ignorant Sikh youths. It is plain to see. The blind lead the blind. If the above quote were how they have interpreted it, it would be: Keval Nanak kai ghar Naam. But it isn't, it is: Nanak kai ghar keval Naam. Idiots.
  9. Gurbani Kirtan is the sublime musical rendition of Gurbani (Guru's Word). The way Gurbani is meant to be orated and listened to.
  10. Well, the website already has committed a sin against Sikhi of Satguru Nanak Nirankar. Here is the veidence: http://www.whyichosesikhism.com/?p=answers&ans=3 The sin of deliberate mistranslation. The above Gurbani should be properly translated as: Do not call Veda and Kateb false, false are they who do not contemplate [on them]. mat = stop, do not So it is do not call them false, not call them false. Whats all this about? Why does the website twist the meaning of this Gurbani by mis-translating Gurbani??Don't they know they will have to "enjoy" Narak because of this deliberate mis-translating? Idiots.
  11. Not just Jatt, but Tarkhan too.I know an elder in Panjab who married a Bihari woman. Seems so.

    Pantheism

All I could read in "Jass Singh's" post above was pseudo-intellectual conjectural opinion, coming from the dark school of anti-Sikh and anti-Eastern mysticism. Looks like we have a Muslim or Christian pretending to be a Singh and attacking Sikhi. None of his opinions on Sikhi or science holds any water.Strip away the layers and all you have is an idiot bouncing up and down saying: "I hate Sikhi, it's too accepting.I am an agent of division." There are numerous nindak like him, accumalating the weight of their sins on there head.
  14. Well if you mean by marrying Hindu partners, that is true.My own great-grandmother was a "Hindu".So really there was only one other community which Sikhs married into, that is "Hindu". I doubt that many marriages occurred in Muslim communities. Also people still married into their own caste, wether they were Hindu or Sikh. I would marry a "Hindu" if she had faith in Parbrahman and didn't worship stones.I wouldn't mind reading Shri Ishopanishad with her.
  15. Let's be honest here, and call a spade a spade. Khalistan = Jattistan Every single Khalistani I have ever come across has been Jatt.I have never come across anyone who was non-Jatt and was for "Khalistan". Jatt "Sikhs" have a pipe dream of power.A power and respect which is being eroded away in this modern day.You have so called low castes slowly getting into high positions in Panjabi society, and the Jatts are jealous.Hence the demand for a "Khalistan". I belive this to be one of the main reasons for this pipe dream of Jatt-i-stan. Have I offended someone?Well, I make no apology.
  16. Check out: http://www.avatara.org/ For full list of all 24 Vishnu avatar.
  17. I refer you to: There is no misinterpretation on my part. You have made a comparison by stating "Just like Guru Nanak...".Therefore you are equating what Nietzsche did with what Satguru Nanak did and said. Sikhi isn't in essence philosophy. You got it wrong about Sikhi. It wasn't "created".Something that was never born can never be "created". And Satguru Nanak did not bring a new way of thinking.Nor was it an old way of thinking.Time has no influence on the Truth. I do hope you haven't been trusting English translations of Gurbani.Because it looks like to me you are coming from the angle of someone who has been reading English translations of Gurbani.I may be wrong in my assumption. There are just too many people who call themsleves "sikh" or should I say "seekh" and try to dissect Sikhi according to their own whim. "I know what Sikhi is!It is a way of thinking!"."It is a philosophy"."It is a religion"."It is socialism". Oh dear me...When will these "seekhs" learn.
  18. Same here.I've always been very wary of these so called Sants/Brahmgyani's you get nowadays.Sants/Brahmgyani's are awfully common these days.I thought they were supposed to be as rare as precious jewels.
  19. St.Valentines day was originally a "pagan" festival of love and sex. Most "Christian" festivals are originally pagan festivals, including Christ-Mass... However theres nothing wrong in a Sikh wanting to buy chocolates and flowers on St.Valentines for his beloved.Or any other day infact. But I can't see a Sikh preaching about St.Valentine, though theres nothing wrong in that. But there is something wrong in what St.Valentines day and days like Christ-Mass have come to represent nowadays.Namely, the worship of materialism.
  20. According to Vaishnav tradition there are 24 avatar of Vishnu.I don't know how many avatar of Shiv or Brahma or any other mythical deity there have been according to the Puranik literature.
  21. Satguru Nanak Nirankar did not "create" any philosophy and He did not claim to be a prophet. Please get your facts straight before insulting Satguru by comparing Him to Nietzsche.I suggest you compare His Jap Ji Sahib with the phenomenon of the Near Death Experience, which science finds hard to explain. It is only a suggestion.
  22. The majority of people create "God" in the their own mold.Even athiests who do not believe in "God" are guilty of this. When people say they either believe or do not believe in "God," they are actually stating that they believe or don't believe in their "God". The English word God means different things to different people. To me it means Consciousness.Horse for courses. And anyway, what about the Goddess? God and Goddess are the two main emanations from That.Even to call It anything is futile. Yet "It" is something so simple and wonderful...
  23. Typical.Jumping the gun again Shasterkovich.I was talking about myself. That I went to google not you.I refer you to:
