  1. I'm searching for a pic of the various chakrs of the body as well as detailed info on them (hopefully more detailed than the amazing stuff posted about Baba Isher Singh Ji's katha re hatha yoga). I've searched all over and can't seem to find it. Could anybody help me out?
  2. http://finalevolution.blogspot.com/2005/02/kaam.
  3. one of the things that has helped me the most in controlling lust has been keeping the Guru Ang Sang. He sees what we do, hears what we say, and knows what we think. Pretty hard to then go and do bad things or to indulge in kaamic thoughts too much.
  4. simply recite mool mantr and ask for forgiveness. no biggie. if you take off your kachera for a long time, then go see hte Punj. don't worry about it ji. it's like going to meet the Guru to ask for advice.
  5. I asked Giani Takhur Singh ji. He said that steeks that are separate but all in the same room = Full Guru Granth Sahib Ji. If some of the steeks are in diff rooms then no, normal steeks. Steeks themselves do deserve quite a bit of respect (i think more than gutkas imo).
  6. I wish they would call it a kirpan and not a dagger. The word dagger implies images of thieves and murderers, or at the very least violence, to many people.
  7. there's several new posts on the finalevolution.blogspot.com blog: I would like to share some gems I gained from Gyani Takhur Singh ji's Japji Sahib Viakhya. I would like to share some gems I gained from Gyani Takhur Singh ji's Japji Sahib Viakhya. Unfortunately, at that time in my life my Punjabi skills were very limited so I could not extract as much information as I wished; ie, I missed a ton. Nevertheless, I'll share what I have and hopefully it will help. Note that I only wrote down points that are actionable. The actual katha itself is over 50 hours long in its totality. • Jatt ? Tiag ? viaraag • There is a big phall (reward) for reciting all of the Guru’s names in meditation. “Dhan Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji”…. All the way to “Dhan Dhan Mata Sahib Kaur Ji”. • Bani of the fourth and ninth Guru are filled with vairaag. • When reciting Bani, try your best to pronounce it correctly. Pronounciation mistakes are huge, like missing zeros in a cheque. • Recognize that we have no power to speak or be silent, sit or stand, laugh or cry etc. Waheguru is the True Doer. • Just sitting in sangat is beneficial because it helps to fix our bad karms • Before doing any big karm (deed), make karah prasaad. • Bhagti is difficult, it is like going against the flow of the current. • Try to see God’s will as easy and for our benefit. • Keep Fear of God in mind, it will make it easier to stay away from bad karms. • To stay in Agya (The Guru’s hukum) is a huge seva. • We learn sweet speech, rehni (to stay in rehit), behni (how to sit ), and dhiraj (forbearance) from the sadh sangat. • Imagine that Waheguru is in your hirda while you are doing simran • When you hear Bani and simran, think of it as the Guru singing to you. See it as Dhur ki Bani. • Remember that that the jeev atma (your soul) and Brahman are one and the same. The jeev’s saroop is the prakash that you see inside of you. Keep you dhian in this saroop as much as you can.
  8. I was once initiated by a radhasoami baba before i found out about sikhi. they lie. they claim they are descended from teh Gurus - a claim that is so absurd it can only be believed if a person thinks that the Guru faked his own death, abandoned the Khalsa during a time of war and great need, and secretly moved to another place living for over 130 years. I have read their books. they are quite insidious with these anti-Gurmat lies. I recognise that many of them have a lot of kamai. But just having kamai doesn't make a person holy, or a saint. conduct is important as well. Lies and misdirection, leading people away from Gurbani, calling Amrit an empty ritual and saying that people need to be joined to them to actually have a guru - they do all these things. So... no, mainstream Sikhi cannot accept people like these as true sikhs. And with good reason.
  9. if you are blessed with Amrit, then you are connected to the Guru. you then have a Guru, simple as that. If you cut your hair, you are reneging on your part of the contract (if you took Amrit), and therefore you are turning your back on teh Guru. you would no longer have a Guru. i understand that it is difficult with one group saying one thing and another group another thing. My suggestion is to follow the Guru's teachings, and where there is controversy research and decide for yourself. There is no controversy over the importance of Amrit (and by association - kesh) amond learned Sikhs with faith. Do not doubt the master, pray for answers, and keep searching. That is how it worked for me and I'm confidant that is how it could work for you. That doesn't mean that it will be easy-but ever notice how so many worthwhile things aren't easy?
  10. It's way less effective than Sikhi. My advice is to not bother with it. I tried it for a bit, it's much more complex and slower. Involving a lot of physical manipulations of the body. I've also read his autobiography, while it's an interesting read, he really seems to pursue ridh-sidh. I also believe that his teacher lied to him about a lot of stuff, and he niavely believed it. I don't know who the current leader of their group is. If you're going to do yoga, if you want to do it in accordance with Gurmat, then just bother with stuff that's good for your health like pranayam and stretching and strengthening exercises. Hope that helps.
  11. that guy is Yogananda's precursor. Yogananda is the one who wrote Autobiography of a Yogi. He was also an advocate of Kriya yoga.
  12. i appreciate the spirit behind your post. However, please be aware that that site is a radhasoami site. Although there is a lot of true things said on that site, there are also lies, cleverly mixed in. it takes a fair bit of knowledge to able to differentiate between the two. My advice to you is to avoid this site and others linked to it.
  13. true. i imagine that so many youth and so many converts to sikhi would benefit immensely from such a seva. even it is one bani (or parts of a bani) at a time. thanks
  14. It would be beautiful seva to translate all his kathas into english and distribute them in e-books. just think of the gian that would be spread to people.
  15. just so you guys know, that's a radhasoami website. lots of truth, mixed in with some big lies.
  16. Bhaji, this is a teaching from the Guru. Talk to her about Amrit. My opinion is that you should not perform such marital duties until after she is Amritdhari. This is not Brahmanism, it is simply following the Guru's teaching. Speaking with the Punj Pyare about this may help. Bring her along to the next Amrit Sanchar just to speak with them, she does not have to get Amrit Chuk right then and there.
  17. In Sikhi, both husband and wife are supposed to be Amritdhari. We are not even supposed to share jhoot with non-amritdharee, no matter who they are, and you are talking about a physical relationship.
  18. I'm searching for an online translation of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji by Manmohan Singh. I'm not interested in hard copy, just online. It's somewhat old, but is an excellent translation. I've heard that it's one of the most accurate. I have 2 of 8 hard copy vollumes at home and love the writing style. It's very absorbing to read. Could somebody please point me in the right direction?
  19. Do simran of Ik Onkar only IF it has something attached to it. whether it is Satnam, Satnam Karta purakh ... or the entire Mool Mantur. This will help control the shakti. It is advisable to NOT give up recitaiton of mool mantr. Giani Ji's katha should be on Gursikhijeevan.com or one of the other websites linked to it.
  20. he's a kathakar who has spent a LOT of time doing sangat with various mahapurkhs. i've heard that he himself is a mahapursh
  21. Just divide sava lakh by 40 and you'll know how many you have to do per day. If you don't have time you could do a chalisa with gurmanter. it takes way less time. I think it's 108malas / day for gurmantr. it's written in a previous post so maybe checking that would help.
  22. I've heard (from some other chardi kala gursikh) that the jot is lit to attract shaheed singhs who purify the atmosphere. One other note on the 40 day maryada. You should maintain a certain level of consistency with it. Always do it in the same room. Do it the same way throughout as you did when you began it. you can do it sitting, lying down etc. but say this in your ardass when you start it. "Guru ji, I'm going to do simran sitting in a chair, and sometimes sitting on the ground as well."etc. So basically, my understanding is that you're limited in your actions to what you did in the first day in terms of sitting standing etc. You can walk around as well (in your room). bhul chuk maaf.
