  2. Nahi Actually, Its a good discussion. Its like saying you want to be a sikh, but then you want to cut your hair too? Right??...You can' t do both, got to pick one. Its like same here ..show your stomach or be a sikh? ..Pick one, can't do both? .Anyways, let it keep going. Canadian Jatti Penji isn't you going to oppose anymore

  5. I personally don't like pets...-of all kind ...except fishes.. Per..On a serious note There has been research done, showing that people's immune systems work better if the person has a pet to love and touch. Don't you think pets deserve to be loved back, protected and treated well? Anyways, there is no "Sikhi" laws-*I Think* Anyways, You know what's right.

  9. Sikh has no dealings with caste distinctions, black magic, or superstitious practices. Explanation: The Sikh places his/her faith in God alone, and s/he is resigned to the Will of God. The Sikh performs all duties as prescribed by the Guru and leaves the results of his/her actions up to God. This instruction helped to pull the Sikh away from the prevailing practices which kept the people living in fear and insecurity in their relationship with God.
  10. What about Stock Markets??<They a bit of gambling?? What you folks have to say??
  11. We are not Symbols- This is a dialog between a father and a son on the question of the 5 Kakars
  12. Actually, to be quite honest. I am not a gurmukh ,yet. Don't have the 5ks    , But I am trying my hardest Wish me the best... 8) 8)
  13. This is in response to Sikhism and how it looks at gay/lesbian people. First and foremost, gay people have no control over their "gay" status, its like a disease that doesn't have a cure. We shouldn't judge or criticize them. Because, the only thing that we can say to that is that Guru Gobind Singh Ji proclaimed equality for all in his famous words "Manas ki Jat Sabhe Eke Pehchan Bo" (all human beings are equal and have one identity Ik Ongkar, Sat Nam - Everything stems from these two concepts. Ik Ongkar - There is but ONE Creation - even homosexuals, bisexuals and transexuals are part of that same One Creation set on this earth plane by the Infinite Paramatma. Sat Nam - Truth is Thy Name - the only way that we can actually say this every morning in our daily Japji Sahib Bani and for those of us that have any dealings or connections with the the 3HO Foundation or North American Sikhs; greet everyone in the communities around the world with this "Sat Nam" phrase, is if we are actually living up to OUR OWN TRUTH. By being Gay or Bi and being honest about this type of sexual orientation to the entire world around us, while living up to the spirituality of the Sikh faith and not the religious aspects, only then can we say to people Sat Nam and really mean it. Only then can we read our Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and repeatedly chant Sat Nam. Only then can we read our daily Banis as an "Amritdhari" and not be a hypocrite at the same time.
  14. LOL, R K ...Thats your 'point of view', but please I think thats just as bad as anything to say that, because you've got no sold evidence. Anyways, Sorry, But that did crack me up
  15. Lalleshavari, Personally please don't start having such conflicts. On this board, we all are brothers and sisters and so forth. So there don't fight why he asked you a personal question. Perhaps him knowing that could give you better advice. And personally, you answering that question..why is it so personal to you/ If you are a true sikh, why would you be embarrased to tell such a thing. Anyways, keep it safe.!
  16. No offence to anyone, but I'll have to agree with gurpreet penji here. She took the words out of my mouth...! Thought I do agree with Steel Bangle to a certain extent.
  17. Alright guys seems bit childish. If you can't do makeup don't wear chapstick. Thats like saying if you got a disease, don't get it cured for. Because waheguru ji wanted you to have that disease. Gloss is different thing its like a teenage lipstick. But, you can get clear chapstick..Those kind that you can't even tell when you put them on. It is like if waheguru ji made dry lips, then he made simple cure for it too. The most important thing to realize is.... Sikhism doesnot believe in artificiality[of behaviour, appearance, beliefs or any aspect of life]. It believes in equality of sexes and doen't consider females as an object of exhibition for entertainment of males.Everyone is beautiful as created by God and we should aspire for inner beauty of soul rather than focusing on outer artificiality. The aspect to focus on increasing physical beauty is to maintain natural beauty by exercising and proper nutrition. For makeup , Gurus have mentioned "Sat ka shingaar"[beautify yourself with truth] a number of times. Hope this answers your question.
  18. Who are they exactly..me heard its some baba ji ..whoes got like 300 TV Screens around him? It true?? No Offence, someone englighten me on this one..
  19. Obviously there is dancing that is erotic, and that's surely not what is being recommended, but even Guru Nanak had Mardana play music, and so it is the quality of the music for one thing, and the type of dancing for another that matters. Sikhs are not ascetics, and we ought to be able to enjoy rhythm and movement without being excessive or "over the line" with either. Obviously the highest music is Gurbani Kirtan, and we don't dance to that, but joyful, exhuberant dancing is good exercise if nothing else! If we prohibit the youth from dancing, they will be more eager to do it.It is OK to listen to other music than Gurbani. However, violent, angry and sexual music is not good for promoting goodness in yourself and not good for promoting peace in our world. hope this helps!
  20. Well, we can express our opinions even without cussing. Again, even if there was or wasn't pics of guru jis here, it be the same thing. Negative sound; cursing very negative effect on the body and the psyche. So, keep it clean guys  #$*& $#$ Jokes!
  21. Dont worry about what your parents or friends say. Gurbani says all emotional bonds are finite and only your relationship with Satguru is eternal! 8)
  22. The Guru gave us bana - a specific physical appearance and form so that we may present ourselves with grace and dignity. What is the goal and result of dressing up and applying cosmetics? Regardless of circumstances a Sikh should maintain the form and identity of a Sikh. Best to minimize drawing attention to your 'body.'-which happens with those 'belly' shirts. .. Again if people in Punjab dressed like that in earlier times, doesn't mean Sikhs did that( I am not sure though) Punjabi Culture and Sikhi are two different things here.
