There are many similar concepts in both these styles in terms of fighting and spirituality. The ninja of old known to recite mantras of the Vedas and other Indo/sanskrit granths as well as practice yoga, pranayama etc which they adapted to their own ways. Further info can be gained by reading the early books of Stephen Hayes.
