PCMSA hails decision on common entrance test

Tribune News Service

Jalandhar, January 18

A day after state Health Minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla advocated the scrapping of multiple tests for admission to various medical colleges in the country, the Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMSA) has hailed the state government’s decision.

Dr Hardeep Singh, state president of the association, said the proposed common medical entrance test for all 271 medical colleges was the only way out to produce top quality medical graduates.

“As the Centre and the state governments hardly hold sway over the managements of private medical colleges, hundreds of ineligible students manage to get admission in medical colleges,” he added.

KDS, do you think the medical sector examination scene is effected by the general corruption that seems to pervade Panjab's education system or do you think it has transcended this?

Basically, are we getting incompetent low ability students being passed, who are then training as doctors?

Well the above is a very good move as it will remove burden on Students to go and give tests of several medical college's.

As far corruption is concerned Everyone knows in India that state level college's produce very poor quality students particularly in North India .Centrally managed

college's are best

There are lot of dumbasses all over India who just admit in college of their parents choice and then they hardly make career in that field.Indian education system is

not so pro poor friendly as a result many Genuises end up doing menial jobs while many dumbasses end up in college and then some even in jobs.
