hmmm

i'm allergic to sarbloh...

Spoke with a scholar (or what i call a scholar..some one who knows a lot about Sikhism+ more) ..

and this guy was a headteacher in some collage

well

he said firstly

the word ALLERGY is limited to minitrals

as Sarbloh is a element/metal

u can say that it reacts with ur skin :)*that is IF IT DOES*

secondly

he said that IRON DOESN't react with ur skin

it simply DOESN't

what ju THINK IS SARBLOH isn't SARBLOH its a compound of some other elements i.e. nickel WHICH REACTS A LOT WITH SKIN

I used to wear a sarbloh kara nothinghappend

but when i wore another FAT kara

it reacted...it was a compoud of some element

but according to this Guy i spoke to

he said that its really hard to find REAL Sarbloh ..cause it doesn't get produced n e more as its simply TOO expensive

while the thing closest to Sarbloh u can find is

MOLD STEL i think he said :?

approx 1% Carbon 99% Iron

so u rearly find REAL SARBLOH

way to test it is

firstly if it reacts with ur skin its NOT SARBLOH

if it doesn't ..it can be either IRON or MOLD STEEL

and that u can see by putting it in water and see wether it oxidize or not :?

I KNEW I SHOULD've brought my science books

metal have ceratin properties, some react with human skin while others do not. But people with senstive skin will react more easily with oxidising metals. most metal oxidise, but the rate at which they do varies.

If you have a kara that causes skin irratation, then i suggest heat treatment or as nihal said "nail varnish", but never tried this.

An alternative to stop the kara reacting with the skin is to put it in your pocket until you get it heat treated.

If you want a sarbloh kara, you must maintain it, i.e clean it etc, otherwise it will rust and it will case reactions. to clean it, Wd40 to remove the rust and a bit of sand could do it. but nothing beats a polishing wheel with very little to nearly non wax. otherwise, you kara looks more like a candle.

Solution, get yourself a kara made of a non reactive metal. But if you are totally hung up about the sarbloh rehet and cant find no quote about if you can get your kara heat treated  then i suggest you get a piece of kapra and wrap it up.
