Dear Friends

Here comes one new site creating confusion so please do justice to it

Gobind Rai later Guru Gobind Singh - The murder of his father and grand father, oppression of the Hindus got GGS fired up to create a national awakening in Punjab similar to what had been done by Shivaji in Maharashtra.

While reading the Puranas, the Guru had been deeply impressed with the idea that Bhagwan had been sending a saviour at critical times to save and destroy evil-doers. He believed he had been sent for the purpose. In the Chandi Charitra the Guru says that in the past God had deputed Durga to destroy the evil doers and this duty had now been assigned to him.

Das got what balbeer Punj is harping since long due to lack of knowledge of Vedanta and Gurmat(see Var 1 of Bhai Gurdas)

GN emphasized the importance of Karma to escape from the transmigration of the soul. Right conduct is closely associated with GN's idea of right belief and worship. GN believed that true renunciation consisted in living a pure life amidst the impurities of attachment. Anyone who has read the Holy Geeta would be familiar with this philosophy. GN only reiterated some of the principles of Vedanta.

Here GN is used for First Master.

He spent the last two years of his life converting Muslims to Hinduism. While some people have criticized the Guru for engaging the Mughals in a battle that could not be won, he was trying to change the age old mentality of the Hindus of meekly submitting to the oppressor. GHG rendered a great service to the country by showing the true path of deliverance from spiritual bondage. After all, spirituality, must inspire a person to resist the wrong with courage and boldness. The Holy Geeta talks about it too.

here GHG is used for Sixth Nanak

Das can say that Karma ,deeds, are secondary for Sikhs but Arebic word of Karamu or mercy of Akal is of prime importance.

These hindutva people try there best to fit Gurmat in hindutva model for that they often try to twist the fact.

This hurts us.Our Sixth Guru left his son Ram Rai for attempt to twists the truth. There such attempts only helps the anti hindu elements among us that there point is correct and all hindus are like that.

Das hopes that all hindus must not interfere with our faith. That is must for Hindu Sikh unity. And all hindus are not foolish and childish like that.

Although there are strong philosophical precepts between sikh ideology and Vedanta that have enabled Sikh sadhus from the past and to this day to use extra texts like Saruktavali and Sri Vichaar Saagar (e.g. Sant Attar Singh ji), there are subtle modifications also that have root more in the Bhakta movement. There are also such affinities between Sikhi and Tasuwwuf mat. For some Sufi shaykhs, the only logical explanation for this is that Guru ji studied with the best sufis of the day while in Baghdad, an important centre of Tasuwwuf. I find all this interesting, but not threatening. Bickering over conceptual negation for boundaries bores me as a dialogue. In this post-modernist milleau, things are less objective. Truth is truth, and I should bloody well hope it arises everywhere in everything. That is gurmat-affirming, not the existential threat that others more sour percieve it as. Just some observations that might add mirch to the masala!

....bring on the backlash

well said ts! in this modern day, with the formation of diasporas... the 'estranged' communities have a huge self identity crisis... & each one will see commonalities as an infringement on their own identity. but as u said... truth is universal.
