Dress before the British

chola actually came as a dress much later as indeed did the Kurta (particularly the 'churida' variety, which is of another foreign influence, this time Moghul).

Traditional Sikh dress can we considered as a full sized Kachera, Dastaar/Patka (of course with kamarkasa for the kirpan) and in the colder climates a shawl or blanket to cover the upper body.
