Illogical but Logical..Pl. find the Catch.

:):(

One should be either a first class fool or super human being to thank HIM for creating me and then put me through the cycle of 8.40 million and then let me appear in human form with the instructions that I should thank HIM[ not literally , but even doing Paath is thanking HIM] and finally get merged with HIm . But all this is pre-conditioned with HIS grace and will.If everything is to happen as per HIS will , what is the big question of thanking HIM and for what , that He created me as human being. It does not require any thanks.

It may sound an egotistical but then one starts from a scratch and makes concept of the existence of the self. You may as well opine as to why He should be praised and thanked. I do not know as to who I was in my past life and will not know in my future life as there is no evidence that I shall remember the present life in future life. If I had the guarantee that I would know as to what happened to me in the previous life that I may be tempted to remembe HIM. It seems slightly confusing to me. I am happy with my Paath and nitnem that I am able to adhere to. I do want to know about the Naam if it helps. May be it is 'wahay Guru' or not. But I shall remember HIM by this name as it helps. One may chant any name to arrive at some peace Of mind or to obtain similar end results. Gurbani also states that He should be remembered with every breath. Why so?

' saas saas simro gobind'

The ultimate question that may also trouble you would be that He has created and why should we make efforts to get merged with HIM. Do we still know that by doing this we shall meet HIM.

Please find out the catch and state the same here.

Gurmantr is waheguru. You can do simran (remembrance of) any name. Waheguru is more effective though. in bhai Gurdass dian Vaaran, bhai sahib states that 1. Waheguru is gurmantr, and 2. that this mantr is composed of the mantr for each age from the past 4 ages, it's a combination of them.

doing simran with each breath is an exceptionally effective technique to remember him. it's very important to use this technique in the amritvela.

here's something you might use:

4. Method of Nam - Simran (Meditation)

Feel the presence of the Almighty within, with full faith and devotion, recite the Divine Name with the tongue in the beginning - the lips and the tongue continue gently moving up and down and slowly go on uttering 'Waheguru', 'Waheguru' at a stretch with love and attention; then by and by continue uttering 'Waheguru', 'Waheguru', gently with the tip of the tongue touching the palate and the lips remaining almost still; in the third stage with breathing - 'Wahe' should go along with the breath while inhaling and 'Guru' should emerge alongwith the breath while exhaling.

"Bahar Bhitter Eko Janaho Eh Gur giam Batai" (684)

By reciting the Divine Name in this way and after continuous intense meditation, the fourth stage is bestowed upon the searcher in which the Divine word and the devoted mind become one and merge.

"Kabir Too Too Karta To Hoohaa Mujh Meh Raha Na Hoohn.

Jab Aappa Par Ka Mit Gayaa Jat Dekhau tat Too" (1375)

But the essential requirement of all these steps of Nam-Simran is that one should do it realizing the presence of Akal Purakh within and every where.

"Gur Kee Murat Mun Meh Dhiaan.

Gur Kae Shabad Mantar Mun Maan.

Gur Kae Charan Ridae Lae Dharon.

Gur Parbrehm Sada Namaskaro" (864)

you must also accept Khande Batte di Pahul. It makes your simran much more effective, without it your pace will be waaaaaaaaaaaaay slower.

The Word of Shabad u are reffering to is a way of the translators to say the meaning of Shabad with the word shabad: the meaning of shabad in english is Word but if they wrote only word it isn't clarified so they add of Shabad.

Kindly explain the meaning Of the line esp. Shabad , the tru word Of God.'

the shabad is the true word of God

Question No.11.What exactly is the meaning of 'word of shabad' ?

?????? ???? ??? ? ???? ???? ???? ???? ??? ? Night and day, his doubts never stop; without the Word of the Shabad, he suffers in pain.[page 550-line 1]

-The Shabd is a form of God/Guru. It is Gurbani.

Question No.2

???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ??? ??? ???? ????? ??? O Nanak, one whose mind is filled with the Name of the Lord, Har, Har - his tongue savors the Word of the Shabad. ||1|| [page550]

What is 'word Of shabd' and what is the 'Name Of Lord' as per the above line.

-Same as above. God has numerous names, Raam, Rahim, Allah, Waheguru. The name emphasized most in Sikhi is Waheguru. This is the combination of the main mantras of the past four ages.

When the seeker reaches a certain level, they taste a sweet taste on their tongue when reciting God’s name. This taste is hard to define, as it has no equal in nature, it is sweeter than honey.

Question No.3

?????? ???? ??? ? ???? ???? ???? ???? ??? ?

Night and day, his doubts never stop; without the Word of the Shabad, he suffers in pain.

-Same as above. One must look at what’s written in Gurbani, take those meanings, do veechar (contemplation) on them, and put them in practice. With this, and with the Guru’s kirpa, our doubts stop. As we progress along the path many kautaks (spiritual happenings / miracles) are shown that remove doubt. Sharda develops.

estion No.4

????? ????? ???? ??? ??? ???? ???? ???? ? ??? ? [page 553]

I wandered over the whole world, crying out, "Love, O Love!", but my thirst was not quenched.

???? ??????? ????? ???? ???? ?? ???? ???? ??? ?? ???

O Nanak, meeting the True Guru, my desires are satisfied; I found my Beloved, when I returned to my own home. ||2||

Who is True Guru as per the context.?

Kindly also let me know the difference between the gurus that are used in SGSS ji. [eg. 1.guru, 2.true guru, 3.sat guru 4. AAd Guru 5. Jugaad Guru

6. Sri guru deve .]

For us Sri Guru granth sahib ji is the guru. Kindly clarify.

-They are all one and the same. The Guru, from Guru Nanak Dev ji to Guru Gobind Singh ji, to Guru Granth Sahib ji, are all one and the same. The same light exists in each of them. It is as if God donned different clothes (the body).

That which is true is never destroyed or killed. The Guru is true b/c the Guru can never die. Aad and Jugaad refer to time, the Guru is true before time began and in all the ages before now. Sat teaches that the Guru will forever be true. Remember, that the Shabd (Gurbani), is one of the Guru’s forms, and this existed right from the beginning. So all of these refer to the same Guru.

It seems to me that the line discusses wandering around searching for God outside, eg. in forests and caves. Than it states that when the seeker returned home (searched inside Himself), he found God.

Question No.5

??? ???? ????? ??????? ??? ?????? ???? ???? ??? ????

Those whom the Lord Himself instructs as Gurmukh - duality and doubt depart from within them. ||13||

Wat exactly is the meaning Of Duality ? Is it to mean that one believes in God sometime and some other time he is in doubt about the same. Kindly explain.

-Duality is the belief that we are separate from God. Duality is caused by Ego which creates a veil ‘thinner than a butterfly’s wing’ separating us from God. So even if one believes in God, duality could still be affecting that person. Doubting God is also a part of duality.

Quuestion no.6

???? ???? ?? ????? ??? ???? ?????? ????? ? ??? ?

From the very beginning, it has been the Will of the Lord Master, that He cannot be remembered without the True Guru.

??????? ????? ????? ??? ???? ??? ???? ??? ??? ?

Meeting the True Guru, he realizes that the Lord is permeating and pervading deep within him; he remains forever absorbed in the Lord's Love.

Question about Guru/Tru guru.

What is the meaning of these lines.Taken from pages 555 of SGGS ji. True Guru at many places seems to mean as Lord but the above line differentiates between tru Guru and Lord. What is the significance of the term tru Guru and guru as asked for in above questions.

-To meet God, one requires a Guru. To believe that Guru Granth Sahib ji is our Guru is not enough, we must actually be initiated as the Guru’s sikhs/servants/disciples via Khande Batte da Amrit.

So, although we may remember God and do good deeds, without a Guru we will not get so much value for all of these as we would with a Guru. It seems to be saying that with a Guru, the seeker sees God within.

Question-7

??? ?? ???? ?? ??? ???? ? [page 558]

O my mind, chant the One Name.

?????? ??? ?? ?? ??? ?????? ??? ???? ? [p558]

The True Guru has given me this treasure. ||1||Pause||

Which name is being referred to in the above lines?

Who is the Guru refd. to above.?

What should I do?

Just carry on With chanting 'Waheguru' all the time.

-yes.

You can chant any name of God. The name given most preference in Sikhe is Waheguru. This is the gurmantr given/activated at the Amrit sanchar. The proper method is taught to you at the Amrit Sanchar, by the punj pyare (who are another roop of the Guru’s). Try to remember God as much as you can. Remember that we have to balance this with our worldly responsibility and proper rest etc. So, it’s probably easiest to slowly increase the amount of time you spend in remembrance by a little everyday.

Question 8

???? ??? ?? ????? ???? ???? ??? ??? ?? ?

By His Grace, one dies while yet alive, and by His Grace, the Word of the Shabad is enshrined in the mind. [page 558]

-If we remember death it’s easier to focus on Naam, it’s easier to steer clear of maya, and it’s easier to have our priorities straight.

Normal people like me fear losing what we have gained in life. But when I die I’ll leave this world empty handed anyways. So if I die while still alive, I will no longer be afraid of loss, and it will be easier to remember the Shabd.

Questiion 9

??? ???? ???? ???? ?????? ? [page 560]

Lasting peace is obtained, contemplating the Shabad, the True Word of God.

-It is literally true. The mind feels peace, no worries or anxieties, obessions or passions. Again, contemplation must be followed by putting the teachings into practice. Over time, as you move along this path, you will gain this peace. Patience is required.

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

Harpreet Jee, sorry for such a long delay.

Here is a something you might be interested to look into. You'll agree with me that the contents of this website will finally come back to the Sikh principles of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Panj Pyare formation.

A poem comes to mind:
