  1. Fantastic video. The explanations given by the author in it, are inspiring and encouraging, as they are given from not an intelectual level, but from personal experiences. Sat Sree Akal.
  2. What pleases the Lord Wahiguru? According to Sree Guru Ram Das Maharaj, if there is anything by which we can please Him, it is only His Simran. Why? Be cause, He knows that is the only devotion, which will bring His jeeva(soul), back to Him. Anything or other devotion apart from it, is considered "manmat". Why so? Because it may please us, our community, our religious leaders, politicians, historians...and we may think, or have a strong feeling of doing something which may please Him....but in the end, it is all agyanta, as it does not at all please our beloved Wahiguru, as seen in the following words of Guru Jee, Fourth Patshahee: jan naanak, har hirdai sad Dhi-aavahu i-o, har parabh mayraa bheenay. O servant Nanak, meditate forever on the Lord in your heart; this is what pleases my Lord God. And as a consequence of pleasing Him, through His Simran/Dhyan, the chains which keep us binded in the cycles of births and deaths are broken, and we merge in Him, as seen in the words of Chauthvee Patshahee: Har dargeh bhaaveh, fir janam na aavahi, Har Har har jot samaa-ee. In the Court of the Lord, He shall be pleased with you, and you shall not have to enter the cycle of reincarnation again; you shall merge in the Divine Light of the Lord, Har, Har, Har. Sat Sree Akal.
  3. It means, even if He is in a particular body as the Conscious power in it, it does not becomes limited or diminished, His Shabd True form, is the same, if not satisfied, we can check it, by going within ourselves, and see it with our spiritual eyes, their Akhand Jot, the Jot of Wahiguru. Here is when the Bani says: "Nanak, Sadh, Prabh, bhed na paee" You see, the True Guru is not the body. That is why the Bani says:even if there were hundreds of thousands of Suns and moons together, even then, without a True Guru, the Shabad Guru, there would be utter darkness(ignorance, agyanta). Why do we love so much our Guru Sahibans or Bahgat Janas? Because we get the perfume of Wahiguru (Naam/Shabad)from them. Though we are spiritually blind yet. But we are attracted as bees to the Lotus flowers (them). Sat Sree Akal.
  4. Very good at least here we agree. Not only to you, but to neither of our sikh brothers makes sense either. And not because of anything else, but for us, Vishnu is not the Supreme Reality, call it God if you want. Neither he, nor any of the other avatars.... all these gods, godesses, angles...are much much below Wahiguru, there is no comparison. These avatars come to establish order and righteousness, while He comes for the sole purpose of giving freedom to whosoever comes under His shelter. Freedom from the clutches of mind and its allies, the vices... Only then the soul is totally free from absolutely everything. Saints, have said, God is an Consciouss Energy, of the highest order. So let me put you simple in this way. We as children, we have played with toys like battery operated soldiers or dolls for example... The power making them function is the energy in that battery, the energy in that battery as container, has no gender, color, size, or name ....but its presence in different bodies, such as a male toy soldier, or baby female doll, does not convert that energy like the inert nature of those bodies ... The energy is the same irrespective of where or in whom it is manifested. In a similar way, Wahiguru in a particular body, is that level of consciousness, never the body. The true home of ours as souls, is where Wahiguru is, and the fact is, we by ourselves can never ever reach there, not only because we are limted, but we are also weak...so unless, He, the most powerful, comes here and gives us His hand, we have absolutely no chances to get freed by our ownselves.... For example, some men as astronauts go to a planet out there in the space, and somehow they are trapped there ... the Spatial headquarteres are aware of this sitaution...so they send another technician astronaut to assit them, and gets them freed ....and when they all return to the earth, all of them discard the coverings on them, which were meant for the natural conditions out there ...so when they are back home, they remove those dresses and become normal here again...it would be absurd to keep dressing as astronauts here, isn´t it? In the same way, when the (Atma) soul and Parmatma(Supreme Soul) reach their natural true abode, they discard all the three bodies, like the physical, the astral, and the causal ...Pure spirit in that Pure realm. All the incarnations or avatars of the gods, godesses are in the boundaries of Illusion, at most, places like Swarg, or Baikunth...they too are subject to dissolution and grand dissolutions.... While on the other side, Guru Sahibans, Bhagat Janas, being the embodiment of Akal Purukh, the absolute Power. have no such restrictions, in them that Supreme Power works, and all other lesser beings, in the planes of Illusion, recognize the Light, the refulgence of that Supreme Being, no body can stop Him, as He is the Master of everything...and so, whosoever comes at their shelter, are carried across. This is what I meant above, when I said, the soul drop is at the shore, the sea as mighty as it is, can not take the astrayed drops on the shore, until it takes a limited form of a wave, comes to the seashore, collects those drops at that time there, and takes them back into the Ocean and makes them one with the Ocean.... The waves will continue coming to the shore as longs as there are still drops out there, beacsue ultimately, sooner or later, the drops are same in essence and nature as the sea... The Sea is more consciouss of taking the drops back, then the very drops are conscious of their true nature...as they are mixed with the sand, thinking to be very much part and parcel of the beach. So it is for this sole purpose, taht He comes here as Gurmukhs or Bhagat Janas or our very own Guru Sahibans. Christ also said, I and the Father are one, he who hath seeth me, has seen the Father. Nobody can go to the Father except unto me. So who is Christ? Was He the body? No, He was that Power of God, working in that particular body, for that particular time being. When His alloted task was finished, He merged back into Hs True form of Naam, of Shabad, of the Holy Ghost or Word, as named in the bible. After that, He has come at differnt places, in diffrent bodies, in different countries, in different communities...but always the message has been the same. Wahiguru is within your temple body, through a particular technique(meditation) vacate your physical body, hold on to that Unstruck Melody within each one of us, and reach home in his company. there is no other way, you may research the teachings of any such Gurmukh, be it may from east, west, nort our south... Because if God is one, the way to Him has to be one, it can be different for different religions, different nationalities, etc. Outwards, there may be differnt ways and methods to reach a particular place, but inwards, there where He is, it is only one way. The way of Naam. That is why Guuru Nanak said: Nanak: Naam jahaz hae, jin chareeya, seyee, utareeya paar. He did not say, that in order to meet Him and merge in Him, one had to belong a particular religion, or do so and so rituals, or pilgrimages, or fastings, etc ... The list of human nonsenses is quite a big one, and thus we are called manmukhs. cause we follow the dictates of our own minds, when, they have laid it all in a simple way for us in the Bani...but the fact is, we are donkeys, or even worst then them ... cause at least they have no sense to behave otherwise, while we having common sense, we prefer to behave as beasts ...shame on us! Sat Sree Akal
  5. Dear Truthseker, I am sorry to say, you are moving very fast....so you miss the explanations given to you, and thus are not to your satisfaction. And if is this is so, no matter howsoever explanations are given, you will never grasp the message in them ... Not that we do not have the answers, or the capability, or we are avoiding you, it is just you need more time and need to go slowly . And none of us are experts, we just give you what we have seen and done since our very birth, we may differ here or there, but in the end we all agree, that Wahiguru is one ... Do not get distracted with the different forms when He comes here, as those said above are not permanent, they come for a definete purpose, for a particular time, and one more thing: all the hindu gods or christian trinity, or any other multiplicity, has nothing to do with sikhee, nor with Wahiguru, they are all lesser conscious entities, which have a different role to play in the creation... But brother, Wahiguru Akal Purukh is above any such paraphernalia, and it is to Him, whom we as souls, give all our love and devotion...He is the creator, all the rest is His creation. All the brothers above: Bhagat Singh, N30singh, kuttabanda2, have given you quite a reasonable and preety fair answers. But as said, you want all in black/white or color answers .... true spirituality is not like that. We need a broader mind to grasp and digest, then only, you can understand it, fully or in a better way. So if you want to savour the deliciousness of sikhee, cool down, read the Bani with full attention...then if you have any questions or need some clarifications, ask us, we will gladly aid you. Nobody can discover the answers you want, in the way you want. Forget for a moment, what hindus, muslims, christians, sikhs or jewish can tell you ... And if you believe in God, He must be reachable somewhere. So try to find your own comfort level, and reach Him by treading that path leading to Him, and ask hIm all your whys... Surely, He can answer you. Wahiguru, Ikonkar. Sat Sree Akal. God bless you.
  6. Well brother, truly speaking, faith is not got by any explanations. To understand Him, is the work of mind...and we all know, mind though powerful, is limited. To know and realize Him, one has to go beyond the realms of the mind, with the aid of guided meditation. Otherwise, the Bani says: Sochay soch na hovaee .... Think you may hundreds of thousands of times, even then, it isan impossible task. The Bani oftenly repeats: only he can understand Him, unto He so wants, by His glance of Grace and mercy. So sometimes if you feel disheartned by getting confused, maybe He has something else in His mind for you...just submit yourself to His will. The world religion comes from the latin term religare, means, the path which unites one with the Origin. This is esence, the true meaning of religion. You may study, different religions, paths, philosophies, but if you belive in God, just see if you it does tell you how to unite yourself with Him in this very life .... not after death. Secondly and lastly, only that much I will definetely tell you, that He, whenever comes in this part of creation, no matter how many times He comes in different forms like Guru Sahibans or Gurmukhs, not any other, all of them come to ann end when they leave this creation. Why am I saying so? Because I have an intuition, that you may be thinking that all those 24, 3, or any number of forms, continue existing somewhere.... And if anybody tells you, that those continue existing, along with His primal form, then belive it, those forms are surely of lesser deities....which are definetely not Wahiguru Akal Purukh. The more we dig here and there, the more one gets confused. Mool mantra, is the summary of any True religion. He is one, He can assume any number of forms, if He so wishes, but all of them are limited, and cease to exist, when He again wishes to return in His original form of Naam, Shabad, Word or Holy Ghost ..... He works, or manifests in His Gurmukhs, Sant Janas. That is why, the Bani says: Har jee baseh Sadh ke hirdey. God, Wahiguru, is spirit, a level of consciousness...not the coverings, the bodies. When He comes here, He respects the laws of nature made by Him and works under them, though He is all powerful. He does not manipulate anything to His convenience. He is utterly humble, and looks like any other mortal. It is the avtars of deities, who display powers, have weapons, look similar more like Marvel superheros, with those supernatural powers...have children, spouses, etc ..even in those subtler realms .... but those forms are not Wahiguru. Wahiguru is Iko. And it is to this form, which all masters of spirituality, Gurmukhs, Sant Janas, tell us to reveal it within us, in order to get the most of it, and in the end merge in it and fulfill our purpose of human birth. The Ocean when, reaches the shore, takes the forms of waves, for a certain period of time; and then when it wants to return back, it just goes back, giving up its limited form ... to just resume its original form: the Ocean. Once those waves, merge and become one with the Ocean...who can differentiate and trace them, there in the Ocean ? Naturally nobody. May you succeed in your studies in these fields, and reach your goal !!! Sat Sree Akal, God bless you.
  7. Hi Truthseeker, let me try to answer as best as possible with your queries... o.k?
  8. Brother, since creation has come into existence, there have been many Parlays and Mahaparlays. In whatever form that Supreme Power, namely Wahiguru Akal purukh may have come, as per laws of Nature, they had to come, do their spiritual work, and go like any mortal here. And all of them, deserve our respects and homage. But yet, sikhee tells us, there is another form of Wahiguru which is timeless, changeless, birthless, deathless....in a few words, eternal, infinite, beyond our comprehension. And that form is Sat-Nam-Shabad. And it is this form, which, if by His Grace, wills to manifest in some body, that is known to us as Gurmukh, Sant, Brahm Gyani .... This is when the Bani says: Nanak, Sadh, Prabh, bhed na paee, or Har ka sewak so Har jeha, bhed na jaano manus deha, or Har jee baseh Sadh ke hirdey. These words are True, we can see, Bhagat Jan, our Guru Sahibans, are living examples before us. But inspite of this types of His manifestations, they are limited to an extent, though they are Omnipotent, because their real identity is not their body, which is a means to make us understand and know higher Truths( Wahiguru, Nam, Shabad), by singing His Glory. Gurbani is nothing, but Mahima sung by these highest Souls,a s they are one in mind and spirit with Wahiguru. Then the other point which the Bani tells us to take into consideration, is the Shabad Guru. It is this reality, this power, to which if we attach ourselves, will be the cause of our being free from all our bondages in this creation, and at the same time, enable us to merge in Him. That is why the Bani says: Nanak, Naam jahaz hae, jin chareeya seh outreh paar. Or as Fifth Patshahee says: Nanak Naam dhiaeeya, Aad Purakh Prabh paeeyaa. And this Shabad Guru is within us, irrespective of class, caste, gender, dharam, mazab ... it is the same within us. And it is with this reality within us, that all the True Bhagats, Sant Janas, tell us to manifest it within us, with the jugtee of His Simrran, and become one with it. That is why third Patshahee tells us in Raag Gauri Guaarayree : Jug Chaarae(Sat yuga, Treta yuga, Dwapur yuga, Kal yuga) Naam Outham Sabadh Beechaar. Throughout the four ages, the Naam is the ultimate; reflect upon the Word of the Shabad. And it is to this His Shabad swaroop, we have to find within us, so that our soul/sikh/chela, in the company of Shabad Guru, we may reach our destiny, His abode, in Sach Khand. Tenth Patshahee out of utter humilty says: Main hoon param purakh ko dasa dekhan aayo jagat tamasha. I am a devotee/servant of that Highest being, and I have come to watch His play of creation. But again, Tenth Patshahee, is not the body, it is that Power, that Level of consciousness of Akal Purukh, which manifests itself, through the body, for our human nature and understanding, for our spiritual uplift. Sat Sree Akal.
  9. Sister, whether khanda amrit was given to women during 1699 or recently ..... is something which creates confusion to some, or irritation to others. The thing is, society in general has done a lot of unjustices to women ...... when the Truth is women are bodily genders fashioned so by Nature, but there is another truth also, the jeevas, the atmas, in them are of the same Divine nature just as in men. And this is the last reality. Whether in men or women, the souls in them are trapped as prisoners, and the fact is there is another Amrit placed by Akal Purukh within us, and given to each one of us in equal measure. The thing is, each one of us has to drink of that Amrit, in order to free ourselves from Maya and merge in Him. For that purpose, following are some words of Dhan Guru Ram Das Maharaj in Raag Kalyan, which if followed we can fulfil the purpose of our lives: Har Har naam amrit ras meethaa gurmat sehjay peejai. The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is Ambrosial Nectar, the most Sweet and Sublime Essence; through the Guru's Teachings, drink it in with intuitive ease. na-o darvaaj navay dar feekay ras amrit dasvay chu-eejai. There are nine doors, but the taste of these nine doors is bland and insipid. The Essence of Ambrosial Nectar trickles down through the Tenth Door. He says, the Ambrosial nectar is already within you, just get above the nine portals through His Simran, where one is connected and surrounded by Maya, and enter the tenth door, there where that Nectar is available at all times. Whosoever wadbaghee jeeva reaches there, be it man or woman, can surely savour it and become pure paviter, free from all ego/mind/maya ....which are the cause of our bondages in the mayavee creation. Sat Sree Akal.
  10. Following are some beautiful words of beloved Fifth Patshahee in Raag Sorath, which throw some more light on the topic of this thread : Satgur pura bhaana when it so pleased the True Guru Ta japiya Nam ramana then I repeated the pervading God´s Name. Further on He clearly says, that one can merge in Him, if only He catches us by our hand. kar geh leenay sarbas deenay aapeh aap milaa-i-aa. Taking me by the hand, He has given me everything, and blended me with Himself. So the question is, if He does everything, what is there to be proud of ourselves? Nothing, but we can only baram baar sing His unlimited magnificent glory .... Sat Sree Akal.
  11. SOCRATES´QUOTES DISHONESTY : False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil. TEACHERS AND TEACHINGS: I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think. FRIENDS AND FRIENDSHIP: Be slow to fall into friendship; but when thou art in, continue firm and constant. HUMANKIND: I am not an Athenian, nor a Greek, but a citizen of the world. CONTENTMENT: Contentment is natural wealth, luxury is artificial poverty. LIFE AND GOD: The end of (human) life is to be like God, and the soul following God will be like Him. ENVY: The envious person grows lean with the fatness of their neighbor. MORALITY: A system of morality which is based on relative emotional values is a mere illusion, a thoroughly vulgar conception which has nothing sound in it and nothing true. RICHES: He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have. HAPPINESS: Happiness is unrepentant pleasure. FRIENDS: Think not those faithful who praise all thy words and actions, but those who kindly reprove thy faults. GLORY: The nearest way to glory is to strive to be what you wish to be thought to be. PRAYERS: Our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us.
  12. A PAUSE for PRAYER When in doubt, pause when tired, pause when angry, pause when stressed, pause And, whenever you pause Pray
  13. LOVE AND POWER You need power only when you want to do something harmful Otherwise you need only love to get everything done Charlie Chaplin
  14. Brother Lucky Jee, verily true your quotation above. But let us ask ourselves, who does His Simran? Because simran everyone does, of one type or the other. Big big rishis, munis, tapasvees of the heights of Ravan for example, did the simran of mantras related to the deities of higher planes. These higher planes, like devlok, Swarg, Baikunth, relams of Brahma, Shiva, etc .... can be achieved by one´s karmas or efforts, however hard they maybe.... But, to start with, even His Simran, can only be performed by us, with His grace alone, if He so wishes. That is His Mauj. Nobody can copy it, demand it, or negotiate it. That is why the Bani very clearly says: Se simreh, jisnoo Aap simrae. Then, as per this His grace, once He makes us meditate on Him, then everything falls at its own place.... then only the mind gets tuned into His Simran, and all the good qualities like: sense of discrimination, humility, forbearnce, gratefulness, contentment, truthfulness, come up like cream on the milk. When He wants you back, He just arranges everything for that jeeva, that soul. The pull from within for Him, is that, He is pulling our rope towards Him, and we may feel we are moving towards Him. But the fact is, without His pull we would not even think about Him. And this pull at all steps of the devotee, is nothing but His unbounded grace ..... Haven´t we ever heard: Deena bandhu deena Nath, meree doree Tere haath. Dhan Dhan Satguru Nanak Dev Maharaj, tells us in Japji Sahib something very beautiful on this topic: Karmee aavae kapra, nadree mokh duaar. He says; by your good actions, karmas, you may get health, wealth, possesions, you may become even the ruler of the three worlds. But, to get emancipation from the cycle of births and deaths, and acceptance at His court´s door, is only possible with His grace, which follows realization of His Omnipresence and Omnipotence. Dhan Dhan Guru Ram Das Maharaj tells us in Raag Kalyan, that, when Wahiguru gracefully writes on our forehead, to do His Bhakti, then only due to this His Hukum, our life walks on the path chalked already by Him. That humble servant of the Lord who has such good fortune written on his forehead meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har He has already supplied with all that we may need to walk in His direction, not only that, but He actually walks with us, holding our hand and make us walk with Him, otherwise we are so stupid, that we may get lost in the inmensity of His creation. So then, what is our role in this divine play? Our whole job is nothing as our own merits, but just being receptive to His grace, which is the driving force in all our interaction with Him. Sat Sree Akal.
  15. Brother, it is His Grace, His hukum which makes us put the effort; or say it the other round, it is His alone Grace which gives sense to our efforts. To summarize in few words the reality of existence, is possible in the following two points: 1) Sat : Wahiguru Akal Purukh and His Naam. There where He is, it is all harmony, permanent, and blissfull. 2) Asat:Maya and all the paraphernalia due to it, or let us say, everything apart from Him. Here nothing is permanent, everything is transient, full of faults, pain and sorrow, birth & death.... And our sole purpose is, to cross from darkness of agyanta, towards Him, the source and origin of True Light. But how to achieve this? Is it by chance? By our efforts? Well, the answer to these questions, is given to us by Sachay Patshah Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj in Raag Aasaa, in the following words: ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਈ Prabh Hoe Kirapaal Th Eihu Man Laaee प्रभु होइ क्रिपालु त इहु मनु लाई When God shows His Mercy, then this mind is focused on Him. I think, having these words of Guru Jee full of wisdom and Truth in front of us, we do not need any more debates nor elaborations .... You see, having eyes and keeping them open widely, even then, in utter darkness we shall see nothing ..... But with Light, we shall see everything around us. It is the presence or absence of Light, which makes the difference. In a similar way, it is because of His Grace alone, for which we can move(our efforts) towrads Him. It is by His Hukum, His pyar, His Daya Meher, that we can ever even think of Him, and long for His darshan. As First Patshahee has stated also: Sochay soch na hovaee, jeh sochay lakh vaar. All our efforts, our thinking, even a hundreds of thousands of times is in vain, if His Hukum is not menat for us....yugas upon yugas may pass away, but without His Glance of Daya Meher, we have absolutely nothing to do.... We are all blind, not only that, but heavily filthy(karmically) also .... So unless, He with sight, catches us by our arm, and pulls us along with Him, all our efforts are useless. Sat Sree Akal.
  16. Singh Jee, Bhakti Marg though however difficult it may appear, believe it, it is the easiest drawn for us by our guru sahibans and all true bhagats. It is a path of totall surrender to the Almighty Akal Purukh. What is ours? What are our efforts? If we at all feel something like being depressed or disheartned, it means, we still have haume, which by itself is a barrier between us and our beloved Wahiguru. Then if we see no apparent progress, it does not mean we are not progressing. Like for example, if you want to cut through a mountain and reach the other side, darkness is there until you cut and reach the end, when you will definetely see the Light. On the contrary, if you feel dismayed while doing bhakti, obviously you will only see the light when you have pierced the muontain throughly... so keep on with your love and devotion for him, like bravely a sikh warrior against all odds, and trust Him. Sat Sree Akal
  17. Singh Jee, We are all sinners, and imperfect beings, He alone is Perfect. You mention Santpad? Do we know what is Santpad? Santpad, is sikhee. And what does sikhee say in essence? It says: Awar kaaj tere kitte na kaam, mil Sadh Sangat, bhaj, kewal Naam. And this means that, the easiest way to swim and come out of the Mahabhavsagar, is to take refuge at His Holy Lotus Feet. And taking refuge at His Charan Kamal, is to get imbued with the Simran of His Naam, that also, as the Bani says: aath paher = 24 hours. At other place it also says: mein andhule kee tek, Tera Naam adhaar. This means, it is with the power and Jot of the Simran of His name, that we can walk, and as said above swim across, otherwise, the wrappings of maya and kaal are "apaar" for any jeeva, without the support of His name, there is utter darkness. It is only by His Name, that Light, wisdom, love, mercy, equanimity, balance, forgiveness become parghat within us. There is no fixed time to start doing His Bhakti, as you say, everbody has an indivdual approach/relation towards Him. So any time to start with bhakti, is good, auspicious time. It is good that you may want to hear from others about His mahima and bhakti or prem.... But, Veer jee, all of us are "kachaas". I would advise you not to depend on others sayings, or, do not give much importance.... Better go to the Bani of our Guru Sahibans, Bhagats, Sadh Janas, who are the masters themselves in ruhaniyat, and you will find unvaluable gems of spirituality. They are the Supreme authority. What else can anyone say? We can not inspire each other with our "imperfect experiments". You see, we are all more or less blind. And as we know, 1 blind + 1 blind = more darkness/agyantaa. Better we get hold of someone with eyes/sight, and slowly and slowly we shall get pulled out. And as said above, our only adhaar, is His Naam. Prabh ka simran, sabh teh oochaa. Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya Brother, do His Bhakti without any expectations, leave yourself completely at His will, and pray to Him earnestly, that, He may lead you to Him. Once you do this type of bhakti, the Bani says: not only the panj doots will not come near you, even the yam doots do not come who take refuge in His Naam. Apart from this, as per what I understand from Gurmat, there is no other way..... Sat Sree Akal.
  18. Weight loss home remedies... Here are some simple steps to help in weight loss. Just make sure that you are burning more calories than what you are taking in and it will lead to weight loss. However, crash diets are often seen to be of temporary benefit only. Instead, you can try these remedies: Take a spoonful of natural honey with lukewarm water in the morning on empty stomach. This helps to flush the fat from your system. Green tea is full of anti oxidants and also helps to flush the body. But for the best effects, it is necessary to have it without sugar. Take 3 tbsp of honey and mix with 2 tbsp of juice of ginger. If necessary, you can dilute it with a little lukewarm water. Drinking this mixture twice a day helps to get rid of fat fast. Include lots of carrots and cucumber in your diet. Have them early in the morning and incorporate them in salad. Cucumber is rich in anti oxidants and various vitamins which help to break down fats. Carrots also contain lots of vitamins as well as have lots of fibre. Start your day with a glassful of juice of bottle gourd. It has zero calories but is full of fibre. Apple cider vinegar has been found to be effective for weight loss. Drink 1 tsp every day for best results. Parsley juice is another effective weight loss remedy. It also detoxifies your body. Cranberry juice mixed with lemon or vinegar is also effective in burning fat. Dandelion tea is an age old effective remedy to get rid of excess fluid weight. Eating a mixture of cayenne pepper and ginger regularly also help to get rid of excess fats. Raw onions can break down stubborn fats. Eat some raw onions with your meals to reduce weight. Eating papaya regularly in the morning can also help to lose weight.
  19. Veer Jee, first of all, when we talk or deal with Wahiguru, time factor should not be there. He is our beloved, and we are His lovers, and if we are true lovers, we should not complain at all. Suppose we want to walk towards the east, but, by mistake we walk towards the west, what will happen? Well, we will be going away from our objective. Then the more we walk in the wrong direction, the farther we go from Him.... So, since we stepped into this creation(for countless yugas), we have definetely being going in the wrong direction, and the proof is, that we are not with Him.... In comparison to this, what to say if we do His meditation for 2 hours, but even if we did 24 hours of bhakti, that too for millions of years, then too, that would not be sufficient to come near ever to Him. So brother, we are condemmed right from birth; it does not sound nice at all to keep accounts with Him. The thing is, we have to be like and stay as "kookars" at His door. The Master whenever thinks fit, He will let us in. He is not deaf nor blind, He knows everything. Whenever He thinks fit, He will shower His Daya Meher, which will enable us to savour His Amarit Nam, and also allow us to merge in Him. And this merging, is not accomplished with our useless efforts, but with the Glance of His Daya Meher. So feel blessed that at least you stay at His door by doing His bhakti... there are millions upon millions out there, who are wandering aimlessly. So brother cheer up, do not get dismayed ever, as He has chosen you to stand at His door...keep on knocking(doing the Bhakti of His Naam Simran). Sat Sree Akal.
  20. In self defense it is ok, because it is necessary for one´s survival, otherwise one may get killed.... In the war, well, I have heard that, one is not responsible for one´s actions, as one is following some superior rank´s orders.... And he is responsible for those orders. Again the question arises, If I do not kill , I may get killed by the enemy... And usually it is for the defense of one´s nation in those moments. The thing is, not to kill for pleasure, nor for any other motive, except as you have said in the cases of self defense or in war. Anyhow, something tells me, that the equation of karma is very much beyond one´s imagination, so one should very much take care and be consciouss of one´s behaviour and karmas in the creation. Once I read, that if even one grain of rice , due to the wind is carried to our house from the neighbour´s one, even then one will have to account for it. So from this example we can see how accurate and unavoidable it is. Nothing in this creation goes away just as like that, though usually our consciousness warns us many a times, but the fact is we ignore it. Anyhow going back to your questions, I have learnt and herad from Gurmukhs, that if one lives by His will, He, Dayal Purukh, arranges the life of His sikh in such a way, that, one hardly incurrs in any karma, as, He is with us at all times. Haven´t we heard: "jisko raakhe Saeeya, mar na sakeh koee" . So you see as per sikhee, Wahiguru is already there, but if we want His hand over us, we have place our chit, our surtee, at His Lotus Feet. And do we know, how to do that? I think it is not difficult at all. Just as we lovingly call our near and beloved ones, in the same way, repeat His Name(Naam Simran) with full love, devotion and faith. As simple as that Singho. Sat Sree Akal.
  21. Bhagat Jee, first of all, where have I have ever given any hint even, that my mind has gone beyond itself? Secondly, mind can only go up to the skirts of Trikuti, or Causal Plane. The entity which has the power and capacity to go beyond the mind´s reach or call it Causal plane, is the the "jeeva", the soul, the atma .... That also, only by boarding the plane of Naam. Mind got associated with soul, or we can say knotted with the soul, when the soul in its way down from Sach Khand came into the creation at the stage of Causal region, it is there where the mind is originated.... and it is there where it is left behind by the soul, in its crossing that plane and soaring higher and higher towards the pure spiritual planes, up to the end so to say, in Sach Khand. Just as the soul, is a drop Of the Infinte Ocean of Love and bliss: Wahiguru Akal Purukh. In the returning journey of the soul back from the mayavee creation to Sach Khand, first of all, the soul sheds its physical covering or body, then while passing and crossing in the astral region, the soul sheds the astral body, still further, in its elevating within, while passing and crossing the causal plane it sheds its causal body, and the mind looses its grip on the soul, because the soul has taken refuge in the Shabad Guru, and due to this help, there all the karmic account of the soul is setteled down forever....then only is the soul truly free ... Up to this point, the journey of the soul is more or less slow, as there are many barriers ..... but once it is free from all the filthy karmas, mind and the three bodily coverings, the soul boarding the Jahaz of Nam or Shabad, gets transported with the speed of a bullet shot from a gun .... do not take the words literally, but it is a way of saying, that then the speed of the flight of the soul, is quite considerable ..... This is what I have learnt and understood from Gurmat. And this my personal view or understanding I do share with the sangat ... Knowing something does not imply, having gone through it ..... Worldy knowledge can be discussed, but the spiritual knowledge given in the Bani, by our Guru Sahibans, Bhagats, Sadh Janas, Gurmukhs .... as it is something imparted by these Perfect Beings, can be learnt and understood, untill the reaping time comes, when one is pure enough to experience it .... This can not be copied and pasted, this Truth(Gurbani) needs our purity, firstly to be understood to an extent, and then to be experienced, only when one is totally pure .... And purity can only come with the kamaee of Nam Simran.... But this das is so impure, that it is difficult even to recite His Name properly... so what to say about of going beyond the realms of mind ? But this does not matters much to me, because Guru Jee is so powerful, that whenever He thinks fit, He will do so (bahah pakad kar, Guru kadeeaa, lakh khusheeya patshaheeya jeh Satgur nazar kareh ...) It is by His power alone, that one reaches Him .... not by one´s efforts. Wah wah Sachay Patshah !!! Sat Sree Akal.
  22. Beautiful topic Neo Veer Jee, reading it now, I recall something related to it quite a few years back.... I do not remember, if I read it, or heard it from someone, but the thing is, I liked it a lot and it was graved on my mind and heart, and so I will surely share it with the sangat here.... It all started with the the tuk " Charan Kamal Tere doe doe peevaa ......" You see, if there are Charan Kamal, surely, Charnamrit is also bound to be there ..... So the explanation I saw or was given, was that, as Wahiguru is Nirankar, doing His Simran, was like washing(doe, doe) His Lotus Feet. And then, as a consequence of that His Simran bhakti, the Shabad is audible. So, listening that divine melody, that Akashi Bani, that Shabad Dhun, is like drinking the Charnamrit of Wahiguru.... I found it quite rational and logical also, cause we know through the Bani, that listening to that Shabad , that Naam within us, is the only way, to become free from the cycle of births and deaths, and also the means to merge in Wahiguru. Dhan dhan Satguru Sachay Patshah Arjan Dev Maharaj, regarding the topic of this thread, tells us something very very beautiful in His Bani, in Raag Maajh: Amrit Banee Har Har tayree. The Word of Your Bani, Lord, is Ambrosial Nectar sun sun hovai param gat mayree. Hearing it again and again, I am elevated to the supreme height. So after reading the lines above, we may ask ourselves, it is o.k that His Name/Naam is the Amrit, but then how do we get it? The natural answer is, by concentration, by meditation on His Nam Simran. Thrid Patshahee confirms this, when He says in Anand Sahib: Naam jinke man vaseeya, vajeh Shabad ganere. When the mind is stilled by Simran, the soul awakens from its deep sleep, and sees the Jot and the listens the Dhun, emanating from the Shabad. Of course, this is a very high and desirable state of purity, but neverthless, it is our very birth right, like a blessing upon us by Wahiguru, in this very human form. What else do we need? Absolutely nothing. We just need seriously to do His bhakti, as means of His Simran, and with His Grace, Daya Meher, achieve all this spiritual wealth, stored by Him within each one of us, in equal measure. Sat Sree Akal.
  23. Dear SinghMunda Jee, let me give a try to answer your queries as best as possible... o.k?
  24. Neo Veer Jee, in my humble opinion, Guru Maharj is telling the mind, that it is not a "mamulee cheez", it is the essence of the Universal mind, and thus it should stop wandering and jumping around. In short, it should change its behaiviour, from the lower tendencies, to become the higher mind. Because this its wandering and running blindly after the mayavee padaharaths, is the cause of its pains and sorrows. it is time, it should rest by returninfg to its origin, Brahm. Only then the soul is freed from its grip, and only then, this soul once freed from the mind, the cages of the3 bodies, the filth of all karma, can thus return to its origin, Satnam. So, our freedom starts by placing each part at is natural place. Body left here, as a handful of dust, the astral, the causal bodies, and mind in the Brahm region..... and the pure soul or atma, in Sach Khand, in the Home of its True Father. It is the reverse process of the soul when it came down into the creation. At each station downwards, it was given something, in order to function in those realms. In the same way, while going upwards towards Sach Khand, out of the mayavee creation, it disposes off, that which is natural of that place. Only the naked soul, free from all impurities and coverings, chains, bhandans...etc, can thus merge in Him. Sat Sree Akal.
  25. Cows are not sacred at all. Life is sacred, in all forms. The jeeva, the soul, is the reason for the liife in any form, and we have no right to take away any life.... Each form of life is due to its karmas, is a prisoner in the wheel of eighty four. Mankind is the highest form of life. Each specie on earth is made from the 5 tattwas, which are as we all know: air, water, earth, fire and ether. The lowest ladder of the creationis the vegeatble kingdom, which has only one element active in it, which is water. Then comes the insect kingdom, with 2 elements active, then the bird kingdom, or those which are born from eggs, which have three elements active in them. Then in the fourth place comes the mammals or four legged animals, which have the air, fire, water and earth elements active in them, the ether element is dormant, that is why they have no "budh". In the last step of the ladder of the creation,on top of all is the man, who has all the elemnts active in them, and who is called as Nar Naraeenee deh, means that form of life, where the Lord can be realized. We also know: jaisa dhiaeeyeh, waisa hoeeyeh. This means: as you dwell upon, there you shall go. So if we worship cows, parrots, bulls, serpents, etc .... what will happen? We shall fall from this human form, top of the creation, to the level of the objects of our devotion. Is that not moorakhta? Is that not agyanta? That is why the Bani tells us: bhai parapt manukh deh hooreeya, Gobind milan kee yeh teree bareeya. O soul, you have got this human form after so long time, and that also, to redeem yourself once and forever from the cycle of births and deaths, and this freedom, is only possible, by attaching your chit, with Gobind, the Lord. And attching one´s chit with the Lord, does not mean, to do karam kaands, or rituals, or pilgrimages.... no ... nothing of that sort. Wahiguru is Nirgun, it is only by His chintan, His Simran, that our chetanta, our soul consciousness arises in the inner realms, and with the Grace of Shabad Guru, it reaches its True Home: Sach Khand. So dear sangat jee, if ever there is anything sacred, it is His Naam, because it is the only fact, which allows us to reunite ourselves with Him, by merging in Him; apart from that, everything is maya, is koor, is fanah.... However the history, traditions or culture, may give us the picture of that our misconcepts being something sacred. The Bani clearly says: Saacha Prabh, Saacha Naao. Only one Wahiguru, and His Naam, is the only one Truth Sat Sree Akal.
