  1. Someone had requested Satguru jee to document the arths of Gurbani. Maharaaj had replied by saying: ਆਪੁ ਆਪੁਨੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਹੈ ਜੇਤੀ ॥ Reference: http://searchgurbani.com/baanis/chaupai_sahib Srimaan 108 Amar Shaheed Baba Mani Singh jee Maharaaj and Srimaan 108 Amar Shaheed Baba Deep Singh jee Maharaaj (founders of Taksals) heard the arths* and the oral tradition followed. The closest (or the same) teeka to the oral tradition should be the Amir Bhandar teeka, written by Gyani Kirpal Singh jee. There might be more. * - There were 48 Singhs in total, who heard the arths. 2. Daas has not been able to double confirm, if the Masands committed rape or not. Below is an account of the despicable activities of a descendant, of a Masand (Bhai Hundal). Please have a look: Bhul chul maaf
  3. God willing, all Naamdharis will come back to Khalsa Panth. Dhan Guru Nanak.........toon hee Nirankaar. Bhul chuk maaf
  4. A person, who claims to believe in gender equality (seeing divine light in all), why would that person have problem with the Charitars, being skewed towards females? That person must look upon both, males and females as souls. So, why would he/she care, which outer physical shell has played a Charitar? Acting like a Saint, when it comes to gender equality and then acting like a normal human, when it comes to Gurbani (Charitars). Is this hypocrisy or not? Bhul chuk maaf
  5. Has anyone noticed that when one is reciting Gurmantar, it triggers Mool Mantar in the mind (as some sort of background noise) or vice-versa? Thanks Bhul chuk maaf
  6. If anyone knows more arths of the below tuk, please do share. ਰਾਮੁ ਗਇਓ ਰਾਵਨੁ ਗਇਓ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ॥ FIRST ARTH: Raam Chand passed away, as did Raawan, even though he had lots of relatives. SECOND ARTH: Raam (the Almighty God) left Raawan's heart, due to that, Raawan passed away, even though he had lots of relatives. THIRD ARTH: Bhul chuk maaf
  7. Bro, Daas never said that. Most likely, people do dance on good ethical songs too. Bhul chuk maaf
  8. It is amazing that some Saints, even after reaching pinnacles of spirituality, stay firm on maryada. Dhan Dhan Srimaan Sant Baba Ishar Singh jee Maharaaj Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Rai Dev Bedi jee Maharaaj Bhul chuk maaf
  9. What was wrong with this thread? Can someone please explain? Was the video clip by Sant Bhindranwale already discussed on this forum before? Thanks Bhul chuk maaf
  10. Bro, who does the minority follow? Who is in control at Sri Bhaini Sahib? Thanks Bhul chuk maaf
  11. A Brahamgyani has many qualities in him. It is possible for a person to have one such quality in him too. For example, there could be a celibate who has conquered lust. Now, can we equate him to a Brahamgyani? No, we cannot, as a Brahamgyani is the one, who has conquered all the five demons (lust being one of them). They cannot be put in the same league. 12. Paaji, it is possible that a person can claim that the below two arths, are contradicting each other. ਧਨਿ ਧਨਿ ਤੂ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੇਵਕੀ ॥ Blessed, blessed are you, O mother Dayvakee; ਜਿਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਰਮਈਆ ਕਵਲਾਪਤੀ ॥੨॥ into your home the Lord was born. ||2|| Quote (N30 paaji) Blessed blessed mother devki (dwelling place -five elemental- body, mind) in its home- surat ( consciousness/awareness) has awaken to itself, came to being. Uthanka arth is dedicated to krishan maharaj sargun saroop. Unquote How come Gurbani is praising Lord Krishna (a demi-God), and praising the Almighty God using the same verses? The answer to this lies in the Uthanka of the Shabad. A devotee of Lord Krishna had requested Bhagat jee to praise him. Bhagat jee accepted his request. He recited the verses to make him happy, but also made sure that the verses reflect Gurmat Sidhant. Two different interpretations, depending on the spiritual level. Bhul chuk maaf
  13. Relax paaji.......some of your points are good, but they don't apply to me. What do you want me to do? Do you expect a Grade 3 student to understand Grade 12 subject matter? The Grade 3 student should try to focus on his own curriculum. Bhul chuk maaf
  14. Bro, Gurbani has no contradictions, but not all interpretations of Gurbani verses will apply to all people (who are at varying points in the spiritual ladder). It is so simple to understand. Gurbani can talk about the merits and demerits of an object. Does that mean, Gurbani is contradicting itself? - No. One can learn from both, the pros and cons of a single object/concept. "Sabh Gobind hai" - is a fact, but it does not apply to a person like me. Daas understands the concept a bit, but I cannot see God in all. What do you want me to do? What will you do, if a rat comes into your house? Will you see God in him and do his seva or try to kill/get rid of him? Daas will try to get rid of it, by any means. If a wife is told to look upon her husband as God. How is that contradicting with "Sabh Gobind hai"? The instruction to a wife is to an ordinary woman"Sabh Gobind hai" - applies to a BrahamgyaniWhen Baba Ghaniya jee was serving water to the enemies (while other Singhs were killing them), he was not just applying the Gurmat principle of "Sabh Gobind hai", but he was actually physically seeing Satguru jee in them. Bhul chuk maaf
  15. Bro, Gurbani is meant for all humans, but certain verses don't apply to everyone. The Brahamgyani Asatpadi in Sri Sukhmani Sahib jee does not apply to me for sure. Having said that we can recite those verses and learn from them. Are you sure that 24/7 saas saas simran starts before Brahamgyan? There are multiple stages (more than 7) in Brahamgyan, so we need to take that into account too. Anyways, saas saas simran is a very high spiritual stage. It does not apply to many spiritual people. Bhul chuk maaf
  16. Paaji, Rehat Maryada has to be followed. The Singhs (Baba Daya Singh jee, Baba Chaupa Singh jee, Baba Desa Singh, etc) who wrote Rehatnamay were either Brahamgyanis or of very high spiritual states, but they made codes of conduct (which probably have plenty of black and white stuff in them) for ordinary people like me to follow. Can one accuse them of duality? Utmost humility is the key to reach the pinnacle of spirituality. One cannot be talking/acting like Brahamgyanis, while he/she is still on the path. One must consider himself nothing or at least very low, as compared to Brahamgyanis. One should try to apply their teachings in his life, but one has no rights to change maryadas. Bhul chuk maaf
  17. Paaji, the above is the stage of a Brahamgyani. A Brahamgyani is not bound to any maryada - "Brahamgyani bandan tay mukta" For ordinary people, who have not reached that level, maryada is a must. Bhul chuk maaf
  18. Bro, it is possible for a non-Brahamgyani to conquer pain, but the fact is that a Brahamgyani can conquer pain too. Bhul chuk maaf
  19. Paaji, Islam does not have the concept of Pati Parmeshwar. Bhul chuk maaf
  20. Bro, Nrit (dance) is a form of Bhagti, but it has not been accepted in Gurmat. There are two occasions in history, where Satguru jee rejected Raasdharis's request to perform in sangat. One is mentioned in the "Dance" topic. Bhul chuk maaf

    Tarsem

Bro, it means "Got after long desire". http://www.babynology.com/meaning-tarsem-m30.html Bhul chuk maaf
  22. The perpetrators have no right to live now. Beating a person mercilessly, just for alleged robbery - how inhumane and cruel these people are. The above clearly illustrates the need for Capital punishment, for such people. Satguru jee also pronounced death sentences for heinous criminals. Bhul chuk maaf
