The vitamins and minerals in pineapple could help shorten viral and bacterial infections and strengthen your bones. There's also a little evidence that pineapple may help prevent cancer and even help fertility by improving the quality of sperm.

paapiman reacted to kirpa_karo in Two Sardars vs 40 Dacoits - a true story!
http://www.mumbaimirror.com/net/mmpaper.as...1924531215e4be2
Sarabjeet Singh Bhullar, 50, (left) and his son Baljeet, 25, fought off 40 dacoits for 25 minutes and forced them to flee. Bhullar Sr has got 11 stitches on his head as a result of the assault by the dacoits, and his son has bruises on his hands
You might think this is a scene straight out of a Hindi film. While 40 dacoits are trying to break a window grill that would lead them into a bungalow, the 50-year-old house owner and his 25-year-old son hold on to it with all the power at their command; 25 minutes later, the onslaught of the thieves still on, the owner pulls out his final weapon of resistance -- the kirpan -- and threatens to kill. The sight of the kirpan so frightens the dacoits that they beat a quick retreat.
Belapur resident Sarabjeet Singh Bhullar and his son Baljeet fought off 40 dacoits for 25 minutes in this fashion on Tuesday morning and finally forced them to flee, Amar Jadhav, deputy commissioner of police (zone I), Navi Mumbai, said.
Police said the dacoits belonged to the same gang that has carried out a series of dacoities in Thane and Navi Mumbai in the last one month.
According to police, at around 3.30 am, Bhullar Sr and Jr, who live with six other family members — their wives and four children of Baljeet — in their 1,800 sq ft bungalow in Sector 8B, heard loud thuds from near the window close to their main door.
When they opened the window and looked out, they saw 40 men had entered their compound and were hurling huge stones at the window grill in an attempt to break it. Fearing the grill would give way, the father-son duo held on to it with all their might, while their wives began making frantic calls to the cops and their relatives.
“In order to stop this resistance, the dacoits began to target us. They hit us with bamboo sticks and stones,†Bhullar Sr said. While he was hit behind his left ear by a big stone, the son was struck on the head several times and on the knees. They still refused to budge.
The one thing that kept them going, Bhullar Jr said, was the thought of family. “We were sure that if the dacoits entered the home, they would kill us all. They seemed capable of doing anything,†he said.
The struggle continued for 25 minutes, police said, but the neighbours, woken by the sounds, did not help. Sensing that the thugs would not retreat, Bhullar Sr, bleeding and in considerable pain, drew out his kirpan and threatened to kill the dacoits if they did not go away. “I recited our holy prayer and drew out my kirpan. I was serious about going after them. I did not have an option, really,†he noted.
Almost unbelievably, the kirpan did the trick: the dacoits, looking scared, decided to retreat. Bhullar Sr now has nine stitches behind his ears and his son has bruises on his hands and knees.
Ramrao Wagh, commissioner of Navi Mumbai police said: “The Bhullars were very brave throughout the ordeal. But I wish the neighbours had also come out to help.â€
The cops arrived soon after, but by that time the dacoits were out of sight.
The gang then went to Sector 8A, barged into the ground-floor homes of two families, and walked away with jewellery and cash. However, a police team, on the chase, managed to arrested two of the gang members: Ambadas Pawar, 40, and Deepak Pawar, 25.
One of the two houses robbed by the gang belonged to Kamlaben Mehta, 73. Mehta, who was at home with her daughter Manjula, 44, said more than 20 dacoits broke open the door of their home with a huge boulder and took away valuables.
Soon after, they broke open the neighbouring house, which belongs to her other daughter, Anita Bhatkar. The dacoits took away cash and valuables worth Rs 2 lakh from the two houses, police said.

I ran into that exact thing when on a maintenance deployment to the south. Was talking to some locals. The longer we speak I realize they're gay. And we're getting on well enough. So I transition from You know I used to work security in the gay clubs where I'm from. No, not gay, just like being around gay people and I don't like they've been targetted for hate crimes. And I figure, I'm ten toes down, why not work the clubs where hate crime might be a reality. They thought that was great. Willing to take a stand for opressed people you have no stake with. Then I hit them with the next transition. Well how can you hate black people then? Don't you have any empathy for them? And they said oh that's totally different. Gay is a lifestyle, those ******* are a different race. And get this. I know you've heard it from me before, and often from the Dasam Granth, native american, irish and black perspective right?
They tell me. No, it's not the same. Because we're not from here. We're not related to these people and it's our birthright to take everything they have. Well shoot. Where have we heard that before?

Sikhs stuck out visibly. These lot hated the visual change, as well as 'olfactory' changes happening in their midst. They would go mental at the mere smell of a 'ruby murray" being cooked in a neighbourhood! lol Turbans and 'sarees' were also objects of hate. Seriously. Muslim women rarely had any hijabs on back then, whilst most Sikh girls were taught to always cover your head with a chunni and many, if not most, wore salwaar kameez even to school (funny how things change). The version of sullahism that is common today (with the visual clothing thing for men and women) didn't start emerging until the late 80s.
Even when they were the NF, there was serious ground level support for these guys. The police protected them from prosecution and arrest. Tories largely turned a blind eye to them, many secretly liking what they were attempting to do. Even today, their ideas have much greater support than anyone growing up post mid 90s would believe. These people didn't go away. They worked themselves in positions of power and raised their own children. They will crawl out of the crack work if they feel it is safe enough, otherwise they work from protected positions in organisations - that's why you get so many accusations of racism in workplaces. That's why it needs to be relentlessly challenged and pursued like BLM do.
I think I'm talking about ratios of of keshdharis and monay, there were a higher relative amount of keshdharis then - ratio wise if you get what I'm saying. Most fathers had paghs (not all though). The African crew were heavily paghed and proud of their pointy style as more stylish than the perceived pendu Patiala one. Some younger people from nonAfrican backgrounds started to wear the african style too. There were mainly desi's here and many had dastars, the older African lot did as well, and they were more strict about their kids having paghs - but they weren't a big number compared to the amount of desis here.

@dalsingh101 a lot of the younger whites now have grown up around/with coloured people and have friends who might be half white/half ethnic or their partner is .
Especially those in urban/suburban areas.
I know that there are some places like Dagenham that are 'volatile' and maybe especially some places up North.
How do you generally see the generation who are in their 30's now who are in the generation below you compared to the older generation who grew up with you ?
And do you see any general differences in society compared to 10 years ago regarding race relations and racism ? I personally don't see much difference but I'm not really a 'street person' lol

From working in construction I'd say that many aren't overtly racist (some are though) but what they do do, is turn a consistent blind eye to subtle racism taking place under their nose.
They still have that sense of privilege where subtle undermining of ethnics is a norm. They just aren't as overtly racist as the older lot, but they fall in line to those older lot though. And it doesn't matter if they have ethnic partners or half-ethnic relatives most of the time.

I was talking to an old friend I was on a psychology course with well over a decade ago recently, and we were talking about a unit we did on sexual abuse, and how, when the lecturer ( a renown expert on the field) told us how common bisexuality is in the indigenous population - couldn't believe it! I believe it now.

Officer, 47, from Met Police's Parliamentary and diplomatic unit appears in court charged with nine further sex offences against four new victims - bringing total to 29 allegations from eight women
PC David Carrick, of Stevenage, has been charged with another nine offences In total he is accused of 29 crimes against eight women between 2009 and 2020 Until his arrest the defendant had been based within the Met Police's Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command Carrick is next due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on January 28
A police officer accused of multiple rapes appeared in court today charged with nine new charges against four women.
PC David Carrick, 47, has been charged with another nine offences, meaning in total he is accused of 29 crimes against eight women between 2009 and 2020.
Carrick, of Stevenage, Hertfordshire, had appeared in court in December accused of crimes relating to four alleged victims, but he has now been charged with additional offences linked to another four women.
The latest charges are six counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, one count of assault by penetration and one count of coercive and controlling behaviour between 2009 and 2018.
Until his arrest the defendant had been based within the Met Police's Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, but Carrick has now been suspended from duty.
Carrick, wearing a grey suit, tie and black face mask, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court today via a video-link from HMP Belmarsh, speaking only to confirm his name and date of birth.
He was represented by Patrick Hill, while Natalie Carter appeared on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service.
Senior District judge Paul Goldspring remanded Carrick in custody ahead of a mention hearing at St Albans Crown Court on January 28.
Due to their severity, the charges were sent by Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring to St Albans Crown Court, where Carrick will next appear on January 28.
A provisional trial date has been set for April.
Carrick has already appeared at St Alban's Crown Court last month on different charges, where it was claimed he had raped one woman he met on dating app Tinder, falsely imprisoned another in a cupboard under the stairs, and sexually assaulted three of the complainants by urinating on them.
The 29 counts that he is now facing are: 13 counts of rape, five counts of sexual assault, three counts of assault by penetration, three counts of coercive and controlling behaviour, two counts of false imprisonment, one count of attempted rape, one count of attempted sexual assault by penetration and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
Peter Burt, Senior District Crown Prosecutor for CPS Thames and Chiltern, said earlier this week: 'Following an ongoing investigation by Hertfordshire Constabulary, with continued support from the CPS, we have now charged David Carrick with a total of 29 alleged offences against eight women.
'We remind all concerned that criminal proceedings against the defendant are active and that he has a right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.'
