diferance between haumai and ahankar?
cybersingh replied to Gangster's topic in Sikhi | Questions and Answers
fateh sangat jio.......... I believe that haumai is the first step and ahankar is the pinnacle of haumai. It starts with haumai ( I need a big car, I need a big house)...and goes all the way to I have a big car/house..... -

Sikh Wedding has to be perform before 12 noon?
cybersingh replied to a topic in Formal Debates & Discussions
Fateh Ji to all sangat.............. just a bit of notice but the laavan are not read by 7 singhs but by one paathi/granthi singh and usually there are 3 or more people sitting around as by namdhari maryada, gurbani should be read shudh and so there are always others there to assist. As for the fire issue, the meaning behind is two - fold, one being that during the time of its inception into the namdhari fold, brahmans were always taking advantage of poor people eg...making them pay big bucks to marry their children. At that that time, Guru Ram Singh ji went against and rebelled against the brahmins and did the laavan in that fashion (with the vedi and fire) and did mass marriages so that the poor people could marry. The total cost at that time, for a marriage, was 1.25 rupees which were tied into the nuptial knot and at the end of the phere, the money was donated to gurughar. The second portion to this is that, according to elder namdharis, the fire god is a witness to the marriage and that the marriage will not break until either one of the spouse's is absorbed by fire (ie..death of either one of the spouse)..... Hope this helps. -
It's quite true veer.........Naamdhari's don't drink chaa because it contains caffeine (which was created by the british and naamdhari's were against the british therefore they forsake everything british. The purple stuff that you drank is known as "chaata" which is a hot chaa like drink but contains no caffeine but herbal mixture.....some nihangs drink this as well...........

Singh sahib Ji........... First off.....a warm waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh.......... the term ram appears in gurbani many a myriad times but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is the sargun saroop of akal purkh ji but just a reference to him as waheguru is or Allah is, or khuda, rahim........... let's look at rehiras sahib............. Ram Rahim Puran Kuran anek kahieaa mat ek na maneyo......... Ramkali, mehalla 5......panna 885........ KoÂī bolai rām rām koÂī khudāÂė. Some call Him, 'Raam, Raam', and some call Him, 'Khudaa-i'. KoÂī sėvai gusÂīÂā koÂī alāhi. ||1|| Some serve Him as 'Gusain', others as 'Allaah'. ||1|| Kāran karan karīm. He is the Cause of causes, the Generous Lord. Kirpā kaār rahīm. ||1|| rahāÂo. He showers His Grace and Mercy upon us. ||1||Pause|| KoÂī nāvai tirath koÂī haj jāÂė. Some bathe at sacred shrines of pilgrimage, and some make the pilgrimage to Mecca.| KoÂī karai pūjā koÂī sir nivāÂė. ||2|| Some perform devotional worship services, and some bow their heads in prayer. ||2|| KoÂī parai bėd koÂī katėb. Some read the Vedas, and some the Koran. KoÂī odhai nīl koÂī supėd. ||3|| Some wear blue robes, and some wear white. ||3|| KoÂī kahai turak koÂī kahai hindū. Some call themselves Muslim, and some call themselves Hindu. KoÂī bāchhai bhisat koÂī surgindū. ||4|| Some yearn for paradise, and others long for heaven. ||4|| Kaho Nānak jin hukam pachhātā. Says Nanak, one who realizes the Hukam of God's Will, Parabh sāhib kā tin bhėd jātā. ||5||9|| knows the secrets of his Lord and Master. ||5||9|| now understainding this tuk shall give you what you are searching for......... -
Vahiguru ji ka Khalsa Vahiguru ji ki Fateh.......... I received this in an email and thought I may share with the sangat........... Satkar Yog Sadh Sangat Ji Vaheguru Ji Ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh. It is difficult to count the blessings vaheguru has showered upon all of us.We can never repay to Guru Saheb but by leading our lives in a way shown by the Gurus we can show our humble gratitude. One significant contribution is giving our Dasvand or ten percentile of our earnings in service of Guru Ghar and panth sewa. This is about a 150 years old gurudwara in Batwara village rural area of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab,India, which my family and our neighbourhood families have been supporting for all these years by the very few means we have. The gurudwara is made out of mud and is in a dilapidated condition which is heartening to see. The Sangat there is not as blessed as most of us in terms of money they make. They are mostly daily wage earners but are true devotees and they maintain the activities of gurudwara with all their resources.I have been going to this gurudwara since childhood and always wanted to do my share. Unfortunately we had to struggle for a long time before we saw the dawn of financial fortune. Now that vaheguru has given me such a great opportunity I would like to invite all my brothers and sisters to help me in this Noble cause. I am a software engineer, working for Wipro Technologies, a software company in India. Currently posted in Coca Cola, Atlanta, GA, USA. The revered Sangat of Gurudwara of Gulf coast, in Houston,Texas, helped me raise lot of money for the construction work but it is still a long way to go. The estimated cost for the construction is 10,000 dollar. I would like to request all my fellow gursikhs and sikhnis to contribute their daswand to the construction of this rural gurudwara. Tribune India Book released on Dasam Granth Tribune News Service Chandigarh, September 28 The Dasam Granth was not even authored by Guru Gobind Singh and it has nothing to do with Sikh religion. This was stated here today by Jasbinder Singh, a Dubai-based Punjabi writer, whose book entitled "Dasam Granth Da Likhari Kaun was released here today by Dr Harjinder Singh Dilgir, an eminent Sikh scholar. In his book Jasbinder Singh had tried to prove that this granth was written some local poets and it was not authored by Guru Gobind Singh. Dr Dilgir while releasing the book said this was not even a religious book. It could be called at best a piece of literature, he added. "The has such objectionable text that it cannot be read in the presence of women," he added. Rajinder Singh, convener of the Khalsa Panchayat, said the Dasam Granth could not be equated with Guru Granth Sahib. "A conspiracy was hatched to equate this granth with Guru Granth Sahib by certain organisations," he added. He said Dasam Granth's original title was Bachittar Natak and it had nothing to do with spiritualism. He said the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had failed to do its duty to protect Sikh religion from the attacks of vested interests on it.
