    Here is my 2nd cents as someone living in canada for quite some time.

    Regular white joe blow really ignorant on various different non white cultures, traditions- don't be surprised they just dont comprehend or refuse too too much work- they just dont see various different ethnic traditions  they just see non white  as  brown/black for their simplistic brain. True story, Once there were so called brown journalist here in canada- i m not going name names but once they showed up in anti immigration rallies set up by whites- in support of anti immigration- these two brown probably thought they go along with them as they feel superiority look down on apne/ their own- mother of ironies- white regular joe blow launched full on verbal assault racist against them- ..this tells us few things:

    - regular joe blow white who wants do drink budd light beer/ monday-friday job -dont see any difference in different cultures- they see non white as threat- doesnt matter - they just dont see difference ideology, traditons so on and so forth- those things dont occur or matter for village white pendu idiot here.

    - apne who think they can play this game of ideologies- bring stupid geo political issues and differences among them from back home here and think they shorten their name to fit in-  fail to realize its all about color for average joe blow white- they dont understand - they are super ignorant- they only see different colors. From their perspective, you are non white- brown or black. Rest doesnt matter so its better to forget about geo political differences back and stick together as one.

    - I personally like this term BIPOC coined recently in media- Black and indigenous and people of color- shows united strength amongst visible minority to address social, racial and disparity issues- gotta stick around, even apne canadian born journalist - they all waking up - making subtle passive aggressive proud statements of their identity.

    Happy Sikh New year

    Today is Cheyt. This is the Indian new year and makes sense to me...because the weather is now changing. I look to the 'woke' poetry in AGGS and translate the hymns as my way to reflect on this change. This year, I looked at Barah Mah (the 12 months) and interpreted Guru Nanak's hymn which discusses the first month of the new year as follows:
    AGGS p.1017-1018. Guru Nanak
    ਚੇਤੁ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਭਲਾ ਭਵਰ ਸੁਹਾਵੜੇ ॥
    My understanding: Chet, the first month of the Indian calendar is analogous to the mind that is in constant remembrance. That mind is in a state of bloom, the state of the mind is one that is absolutely amazing, it is akin to the beauty of youth.
    ਬਨ ਫੂਲੇ ਮੰਝ ਬਾਰਿ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਬਾਹੁੜੈ ॥
    My understanding: The mind, in this state, is like a forest that is blooming with lush fawn and flowers in it. Life or the primal essence (what some would call god) also referred to as 'the intimate other' has returned to the lush forest.
    ਪਿਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ਧਨ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਰੋਧ ਤਨੁ ਛੀਜੈ ॥
    My understanding: If the 'intimate other' doesn’t enter its home, how can the spouse (the mind) attain ‘real’ bliss/peace. Because the mind will be longing deeply within, but contrarily, the mind cannot remain beautiful because it will wither (in separation).. 
    ਕੋਕਿਲ ਅੰਬਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਬੋਲੈ ਕਿਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਹੀਜੈ ॥
    My understanding: (how can that actually happen when..) The cuckoo bird is sitting in the mango tree, in the forest of my mind, and is singing beautifully..which usually precedes heavy rains making the forest more lush…this is a reference to Amrit (the state of deathlessness...usually signified as an elixir or in this case, sweet drops of rain) How can my mind possibly endure any pain (the mind saying 'when I'm in so much bliss, how can I 'Possibly' be in pain)?
    ਭਵਰੁ ਭਵੰਤਾ ਫੂਲੀ ਡਾਲੀ ਕਿਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਮਰੁ ਮਾਏ ॥
    My understanding: The bumble bee (one's divine essence/the intimate other) is buzzing around the flowering branches (meaning that the one observes that it is their divine essence that is completely enjoying this experience); this is a reference to one’s divine essence happily buzzing in the blossoming lush mind. How can life (the atma/divine or real essence) die in ignorance <ignorance being a state of not knowing>? (Obviously the mind being in a state of life that will not wither).

    ਨਾਨਕ ਚੇਤਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਧਨ ਪਾਏ ॥੫॥
    Nanak, in the non-dual state reflects, that in ‘cheyt’ one obtains happiness within, intuitively and with ease. This intuitive happiness occurs, if within that limitless blossoming forest of the mind, one is resolved in obtaining all their wealth and blessings…meaning one looks deep within for their primal source/intimate other (aka. God).
