  1. www.urday.com ( hindu site ) Some of the material u may find offending and inappropriate for below 18 . So be careful . i just found these interesting facts : These r hindu point of view : Why Should One Take Bath Daily ? Bath is taken for the cleansing of body. From religious as well as scientific points of view, bath has an important place in daily routine of a person. Bath is a customary activity in all the religious and social functions of Hindus. Daily life of a Hindu usually begins with bath. Some people conclude their day with bath also. A child is first of all given a bath soon after his birth. On the other hand, a dead body is also given a ritual bath. Importance associated with holy places of pilgrimage like Haridwar, Kashi, Prayag, Kurukshetra, Ujjain, Nasik, Pushkar and many others is mainly due to the bath if not entirely. In the first Mahakumbh of the millenium, which is currently on in Allahabad, crores of people have taken a dip at the confluence of the Ganges and Yamuna rivers so far. It is said that taking a bath at holy place of pilgrimage helps a person attain various religious objectives including salvation. Scientifically too, bath has profound benefits. Our skill contains crores of minute pores through which toxic substances pass out in the form of sweat and wax. This activity is highly important to maintain the thermal balance of a human body. Sweat keeps on evaporating there by taking a lot of heat with it. But the various other substances like grime keep on accumulating right on the skin. It is necessary to constantly remove that grime otherwise, it would lead to clogging of the sweat pores. Once, the pores are closed, internal toxic substances cannot come out and would go on accumulating in the body causing serious disturbances in bodily activities. Stenching body is the first indication that something is wrong with a person. With daily bath, this grime can be washed away and good health be maintained. It is also a well known fact that our body is composed of five basic elements- earth, water, air, fire and ether. Proper balance of all these elements within the body is extremely necessary for life. Each of these elements keeps on decaying in our body. Hence, their constant replenishment is also necessary. The food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe are the means to replenish these five basic elements in our body. When the level of water decreases within the body, it begins to feel uneasy. Burning sensation in and around the stomach indicates that the body immediately needs replenishment of water. Drinking of water quenches this feeling. But out skin also keeps on losing water and bath is the only way to replenish it. Thus with bath, body receives extreme satisfaction and becomes active. Mind also feels pleasant and lethargy is destroyed. Need Of Rosary With 108 Beads ? Our ancient sages and hermits have regarded a rosary with 108 beads as highly beneficial. They have also shed ample light on their reasoning behind this belief. In a year, the Sun has 216000 phases in all. It remains southward and northwards for a period of six months alternatively. Thus, it has two kinds of movements in a year. To find out the number of phases, the Sun can have total number of its phases i.e. 216000 is divided by 2. 216000/2= 108000 Thus in one kind of motion, the Sun has 108000 phases. Removing all the trailing zeroes from this number, we find 108. This number has great religious as well as astrological significance. Hence use of rosary with 108 beads is mandatory. Entire path of the constellations is spread in all the four directions. There are 27 different constellations that according to astrology mostly influence human life. Our sages multiplied this number of constellations (27) by four and fixed the resultant number (108) as the required number of beads in a rosary. Thus with 108 beads, a rosary depicts the entire path of 27 constellations and all the four directions. Apart from it, each constellation has four segments. Thus, all the 27 constellations have 108 segments in all. This combination is also reflected in 108 beads of a rosary. According to another hypothesis, a human being breathes 21600 times in an Ahoratra (day and night taken together). Rising Up Early In The Morning ? We teach our children to get up early in the morning. As children, we have ourselves learnt from our parents to get up early in the morning. Indeed, getting up early in the morning has benefits beyond imagination. Mother nature is specially bountiful at dawn. Every aspect of nature is favourable for sound health in the morning. The wind is full of life-giving oxygen and comparatively free from scores of pollutants. All through the night, the atmosphere carries out self-cleansing process. Different pollutants, suspended particles, smoke, smog, poisonous gases and other harmful agents that accumulate in the air throughout the day as a result of different human and natural activities settle during the quietness of the night. Hence in the morning, air is particularly fresh and clean. It is also said that all through the night, the moonlight keeps on impregnating the air with ambrosia. Its full benefit can be had in the early morning only because as the day rises, ambrosial quality of air decreases. Those who expose themselves to the morning air remain healthy, wealthy and sound all through their lives. Atmosphere contains 73 percent nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen and other gases like carbon dioxide, make up the remaining percentage. Unfortunately, for the past 200 years, percentage of carbon dioxide and other pollutants have been increasing in the atmosphere at an alarming rate. Their implications have already begun to manifest causing grave concern for all the governments and wise people all over the globe. Since the day break, as the human activities begin, these polluting gases and other particles keep on accumulating in the atmosphere whereas concentration of oxygen decreases. Towards the evening, these pollutants reach their peak. Their effect also begin to appear on human beings in the evening. You also might have experienced tiredness in the evening and inability to distinguish the smell. Thanks to the cleansing power of the night that the living beings including humans regain their lost energy and receive benefit of the fresh and pure air in the morning. Human body is a marvellous creation of nature. It incorporates entire nature in it. As the night cleanses up the external atmosphere, similarly it also cleanses human body. A good night sleep revigorates the entire nervous system of the body and replenishes the energy it had lost during the day. Thus in the morning, the body experiences new lease of life. Mind is fully alert and receptive. Hence the body is fully capable of carrying out even the most complex task. Why Not Have Siesta ? Scriptures say - DIVAASWAAPAM CHA VARJAYET || Except during the summer season, a healthy person must not sleep in the day in any other season. This condition does not apply to the children, old people, patients and those who work in night shifts. According to Ayurveda, sleeping during the day leads to establishment of catarrh in the body. If the habit of sleeping in day time is not given up earlier, this condition takes firm root and produces cough related disorders in the body. Most of the people who habitually sleep during the day suffer from respiratory disorders like asthma, bronchitis and even tuberculosis. Hence as far as possible, one must desist from taking a slumber during day.
  2. NANAKSAR The True MARYADA : 1) Seva of Guru Granth Sahib ji is done by sampooran maryada as taught by Baba Nand Singh Ji . Guru Sahib is treated like The King Of All Universes (GOD) not like other gurudwaras where there is not even a palang of proper size for guru ji . 2) Vade Baba Ji ( Nand Singh Ji) did n't allow maya in any form to come in or near nanaksar . Matha tek of paise or money is not allowed in Nanaksar Gurudwara ( Jagraon) its a shame today this maryada is violated in some nanaksar gurudwaras 3) Langar or food was never prepared in the dera . although preparing tea is allowed . but food for guru ji is prepared by the behangams themselves in the gurudwara . The sangat used to bring the langar and rashan paani doing seva. 4) everything was made of mud and brick . and baba ji never made a permanent place for himself . 5) behangams were not allowed to keep money with them , nor do they were allowed to have doors on their rooms . 6) there is no nishan sahib becus baba ji used to say that where there is a nishan sahib it means that dera has the proper provision for langar for the sangat , but here the langar is not guarnteed . it only depends on Nirankar if he sends the food . if he sends it be happy if not then again be happy . 7) there is no custom of gaddi in nanaksar . everybody is sevadar of Guru ji . every seva is done in the name of Guru Granth Sahib not in the name of any person . this ws mainly during baba ji's time . now there have been changes and its shame to say that current sevadars of nanaksar are drifting away from the true purpose and bringing a bad name to nanaksar . i think this is enough for today . I will see ur response to see if i should spend more time on telling about sampat paths and the maryada of other paths etc.. wjkk wjkf
  3. i think rakhri is a custom in hindus , but i have seen almost all of my relatives who have i ever met ( sikhs ,sehajdharis) practising this custom of rakhri . i do n't think there is anything wrong with it . i have evn heard once Sant Ishar singh Ji rare sahib wale got a rakhi tied from a little girl . what has nanaksar to do with it ? its not a different sect that its custom will be different from sikhism . The sole purpose of Nanaksar when Baba Ji started it was to do bhakti of Guru Nanak (nirankar ) and not to talk about any other worldy matter and doing beant akhand and sampat paths for the bhala of sarbat (whole world ) there is never an ardas done for anybody in the bhogs of paths . its done for chardikala of the whole worl d. wjkk wjkf

  7. The Saints of Lord came to this world to uplift the fallen souls.Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj appeared in this material world in the year 1916 , 26 march(13 cheter sampat 1973) in village Jhoraran,Tehsil Jagraon,Dist.Ludhiana.His holiness father was Sardar Bagha Singh and mother was Sardarni Partap kaur.Baba ji had four brothers and two sisters. Baba jis name was Inder Singh which later was changed to Isher Singh by Baba Nand Singh ji maharaj. At the age of 13 Baba Isher Singh came to take the shelter of the lotus feets of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj .Baba Ishar Singh Ji never slept while on duty in the service of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj. He was ever ready to do immediately what Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj wanted. The places selected by Baba Nand Singh Ji were mostly in the thick jungles where it was difficult for an ordinary person to go. Place such as Nagrota, Karol Bagh and Dehradun forests are few such places. Baba Ishar Singh did not care for his clothes. He was mostly barefooted in the service of his master. These are only a few bare details of his unusual long service. One day Baba Nand Singh called Isher and told him to go to Sant Vadawa Singh to study the scriptures.Obeying the divine orders, the future saint of Nanaksar left to study the scriptures. After studing the scriptures his holliness came back to stay under the cool shade of the lotes feets of Baba Nand Singh Ji.For eleven years Baba Isher Singh ji did such a great service that Baba Nand Singh became so pleased and made him the Hazuri Sevadar. In the year 1943 29 august (15 badron sampat 2000)Baba Nand Singh Ji left for the heavenly abode. This was crucial time for Baba Isher Singh as his dear one had left for the heavenly abode without his servent. On the Dusherah day the Sadsangat gave Baba Isher Singh the Dastar of Baba Nand Singh Ji meaning that Baba Isher Singh is now the head of the Nanaksar Sampardah.Baba Ishar Singh Ji could not at all bear the loss. First he went to Dehradun and then to village Jhoraran where he spent about seven years in greatest possible grief. He would seldom meet anybody and tears used to drop continuously. Nanaksar became a deserted place. He had no desire to occupy it as. He always thought himself as most humble servant of The Satguru and the Sangat. He always remained in meditation and never slept. Nanaksar Sampardah is a a branch of Nirmalla Sampardah, which was founded by Bhai Daya Singh Ji on orders of the King of kings Sant Sipahe Sahebeh Kamaal Guru Gobind Singh Ji.Guru Gobind Singh Ordered the Panj Piaras to go to Kashi and learn the Scriptures so that the secrets of the earlier ages can be used by the man in this age. After completly studing the scriptures the Panj Piaras returned to Lord and asked for the next command. The Lord asked the Panj Piaras to start teaching to the mankind what ever they have possased. Thus the Nirmalla Sampardah cama into being.Nirmalla Sampardah is known for its beautifull Tikas of the sanskrit scriptures the Tikas of Satguru Granth Sahib Ji and the missionary work. After Guru Gobind Singh Ji disappeared the two main branches of sikh faith were Udahsi Sampardah followed by Nirmalla Sampardah.Their parchar was so great that they had their deras in every great Hindu tirath. The entire Hindu reign in North India was under their influence. Due to their inluence the first son in every Hindu family was given the Amrit of Guru Gobind Singh and grown up as a khalsa. This is still practised in some hindu houses in remote punjab villages In the year 1945 Baba ji went to Hazur Sahib. Baba ji spend one month in Hazur sahib, after which Baba ji came back to the blessed soil of Nanaksar.Bhai(Baba) Sadhu Singh ji who have taken the shelter of Baba Nand Singh threee years before Baba ji left for the heavenly abode ,came to pay visit to Baba Isher Singh ji.He stayed there for one and half month. After the separation of Pakistan Bhai Sadhu Singh ji came permanetly and decided to dedicate rest of his life to the Nanaksar Samparda. The Sadh sangat fully recognized Baba ji the very form of Baba Nand Singh ji.On 13 Haar (the last week of June ) after the divine vision of Baba Nand Singh ji Baba ji started the construction of the Nanaksar Sarovar (pool). The Sadh Sangat came in great number and the construction started .It is said that once one of the devote woke up at night and saw that in the middle of the night some devotes were still doing sewa .Once they saw this devote they all disappeared .Surprised by this The devotee inquired from Baba ji. Baba ji replied that the house of Satguru Nanak Dev Ji is being Constructed, this is a very rare seva even the devtas don’t want to miss this opportunity. Miraculously the Sarovar was completed within 28 days. There was underground kacha rooms where Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj used to sit in meditation. Nature acted in a strange way. Due to extraordinary heavy rains, all the kacha constructions were razed to the ground. In fact the entire place was flooded with water which could be seen for miles around. When the water subsided, Baba Ji directed that malba (debris) should be removed as the foundation for the sacred Gurdwara was to be laid at this place. The building was to be seven storeyed. It was sambat 2008 on the Sangrand i.e. 1st day of Chet month that the foundation of the present unique building was laid by Baba Ji. Cement and iron was very abundantly used in the structure. Countless people came to do sewa(free service). Carpenters, masons, blacksmiths etc. also were employed in the construction. Experts for this purpose reached the place. Golden Kalas (umbrella at the top) was constructed and specially trained persons had come to do this job. This kalas is 39 feet round and is 13 feet high. The entire system of worship as prescribed by Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj, was fully followed since Baba Ishar Singh Ji came to Nanaksar from Jhoraran. Baba Ishar Singh had started adminstration of Amrit (sacred Nectar as prescribed by the tenth satguru) on large scale since he came to Nanaksar. The Gurbani and Shabads were sung by different Ragis who permanently lived at Nanaksar. Some other ragis from other places also visited the sacred place on many occasions. On the full moon, mighty large Diwans were held. There were other occasions also on which all this was done. Baba Ji started carrying these programmes from village to village and city to city. All important cities in India were visited by Baba Ji, who used to be accompanied by selected Ragis and other religious persons. At all places the administration of Amrit was a must. Lacs and lacs of persons took Amrit. The miraculous ways in which Baba Ji accomplished these tasks, cannot be described in writing. These were programmes arranged by Almighty Lord Satguru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Baba Ji stressed that by teaching of the Gurbani, as explained by Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj and by himself shall have to be followed in order to gain liberation from the clutches of death and to avoid transmigration of soul. It was stressed with all force that Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the only true Guru and none else is to be worshipped as a Satguru. mashi was celebrated on a very large scale. This was on the 3rd October 1963.Many observations of Baba ji which could not be clearly understood by the sangat were indications that he would leave this world for God’s Home very soon.It was on the evening of the 6th October 1963 after the Paath of Rehras Sahib that baba ji went back to the house of the Supreme Lord Satguru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj in a twinkling of an eye . It was on 9th of October 1963 that baba ji’s body was placed on a beautiful palanquin(beaban). Then it was taken to Hari Ka Pattan on a beautiful bedecked motor vehicle.Thousands of cars trollies, trucks, buses followed. The palanquin was taken in another bigger boat in the middle of the stream and his body was placed in the flowing water after all religious ceremonies and prayers. The huge crowd present on the occasion were more then about five lacs.“DHAN DHAN JAN AEAH†“JIS PARSAD SABH JAGAT TERAEHâ€
