The thing about AKJ parchar is that no one stands up on stage and proclaims Ragmala is not Gurbani - they do that either on the internet or at their own programs once someone begins participating in their cultish activities. People who do anti gurmat parchar rarely do out in the open. People not believing in raagmala, not believing in dasam bani etc etc have all been offered to discuss their views with scholars of the Nihang Dals - time and time again the fail to show their faces.

I dont think tensions with Mughals too greatly affected what the Gurus wanted to do - i.e. it didnt prevent dasam patshah from retaining friendship with Muslims such as Pir Budh Shah. The wrongs of Mughal authorities towards the Guru doesnt appear to have affected the Gurus relationship with Muslims. It appears like the passage concerning Mahadin is brought into every topic to make everything in Sikhi appear a conradiction. Things arent always black and white bahadur.

Shaheediyan could you tell us a little more about Budha Jorh taksal. I know theresa nihang singh chanui in or around Budha Jorh where Sukha Singh and Mehtab Singh did a shaheedi ragrhra, didnt know they also set up a taksal.

Bijai Mukht Dharam Shastar is a granth believed to have been written by an attendee of Sri Guru Gobind Singh. The Sikh writing it would spend the whole day with Maharaj and not down what members of sangat came to see maharaj, what they asked maharaj and the answer given by maharaj -thats the format of a lot of the sakhis in the granth. Its very interesting and easy to understand. Not sure about Bhoop Nama

The Nihangs are still preserving their martial heritage and keeping alive their warrior traditions. Nirmale in all their forms are still learning the great lanuages and philosophy of India and actively teaching amongst and the masses as are udasis and sevapanthi.

Tony bhai thats some pretty strong words for a guy who has made it his life mission to place a negative spin on every thread about nihang singhs on all sikh forums. Did you ever confront Baba Santa Singh about the various accusation and comments you have been making about him for years? With regards to Niddar Singh, last time I checked killing innocent people, extortion, rape, and forcefully overtaking religious property where not amongst the various wrong doings he is accused of - Balbir Singh is.

I dunno how people can get away with stuff like this. Falsehood seems to be the order of contemporary India.

If I remember correctly in Gurblias Patshahi 10 the word fakir is used in place mureed. So the issue is clearly a long standing one and there are historical references for both term. A discussion of sources and validity would certain be interestinig and beneficial to all, particuarly if the discussion was void of attacks and insults against the faith of others.

Not surprisingly Balbir has changed his story: Nihang chief’s cavalcade ambushed Rajay Deep Tribune News Service Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda), January 13 Baba Balbir Singh, chief of the Shiromani Panth Akali Budha Dal, had a providential escape when his convoy, that was proceeding towards Muktsar this morning to attend the Maghi Mela celebrations, was fired at. While the Baba escaped unhurt, one of his followers was injured in the firing that took place at village Bhagi Vandar, near Talwandi Sabo, in this district. The Baba, who was sitting in his bulletproof black Scorpio, was going to attend the mela celebrations, at around 9.15 am in a convoy of seven cars. When the convoy reached Bhagi Vandar village, a white Zen (HR 51G 1296) abruptly came in front of the cavalcade. As the road is under construction, the pilot vehicle and all cars in the convoy had to slow down. All of a sudden, miscreants opened fire at the convoy from the right side. Police sources said more than 25 rounds were shot of which five-six hit the bulletproof Scorpio. The driver of Baba’s vehicle managed to drove away as the rest of his Nihang followers retaliated. A sewadar of Baba, Paranjeet, alias Kala, suffered a bullet injury in his left hand. A buffalo was killed in the firing. According to the police investigation, the suspects had stopped over at a liquor shop near the bus stand of Bhagi Vandar village, from where used cartridges and empty liquor bottles were found. The police has booked Dyal Singh, Joginder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Kulwant Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Maahan Singh, Inderjeet Sing, his sister Chhinder Kaur, Gurbax Singh, Daya Singh and his brother Sham Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Satnam Singh, Sukhbir Singh and Kulwant Singh along with five-six unidentified persons. They are trying to frame Baba Joginder Singh for the shooting, despite the fact that thousands of members of the sangat attended the Gurdwara yesterday as it was sangrand and can testify that Baba Joginder Singh never left Raqba. Pretty pathetic.

Rubbish. He staged the shooting himself to try and get more police security - a tactic used by dodgy babay in the past. Sounds just as dramatic as when he stated 70 nihangs attacked him with firearms in April 2007, which he also managed to amazingly espcape.
