  1. VAHIGUROO JI KA KHALSA VAHIGUROO JI KI FATEH!! khandaydhaar penji... i dont know ur intentions behind it but i would jus like to remind you of one thing.... when you took amrit from the akhand kirtani jatha and had naam dhridh, then no doubt you would also have been told that the gurmantar and its method should not be taught...i was told by the same jatha that if i did reveal it i would have to reappear before the punj and ask for forgiveness, as we can only encourage a veer or bhen ji to take khandey-di-pahul and we cannot tell of what goes on inside... if you knew this and disagree with it let me remind you that the punj pyaareh are your guru and disobeying them is not the way of a gursikh...if you feel that someone would benefot from your explanation then i would say that the greatest benefit you can give would be 2 encourage them to take amrit...not give the secret of gurmantar away especially since the punj pyaareh have commanded not to reveal it... a humble bentee to the moderators...could you pllease remove that from this post as it is something various jathebandee believe should be kept gupt...we are constantly reminded that what goes on in the amrit sanchaar is personal and shouldnt be discussed and i think that the maryada of a highly respected jathebandi should be respected... Chardi Kala! VAHIGUROO JI KA KHALSA VAHIGUROO JI KI FATEH!!
  2. with all due respect 'lil princess' penjee you dont know what you are talking about... i dont know about the situation in canada but the U.K had been hit with MANY cases and since i know of a girl who it has personally happened to I feel that you undermining what is being said is very wrong... noone is controlling what others believe...and irts not anti-islam or anti-anyone.... its about protecting our kuriyaa from anyone who is a threat... and where dos this enforcing views come into it?? i dont see that anywhere... if you dont know what teh situation is then i dont think its fair for you to comment on what is and what isnt happening. when some muslims and by no means all or even most go about systematically using various methods to convert kuriyaa i think it is a matter which needs to be addressed very heavily. i can assure you thats not true, like i said your from canada no U>K so you dont know the whats going on here.
  3. sori 2 burst ur bubble mate but a little line of gurbani may have trouble with you asking for mukti.... raaj n chaaho mukath n chaaho man preeth charan kamalaarae we should not ask for mukti...lol sori!
  4. look its all about intentions....im sure everyone realises that if you go out with shorts on with the intention of looking more appealing to some guy or girl then i dont think thats good... but if you generally dont care..then thats fine....but at the same time if you know what you are wearing will cause you to get the wrong sort of attention then why do you wear it?? i always find it so stupid when a girl who goes out to a nightclub is wearing the bare minimum of clothes to cover herself up....and then gets raped or harassed by someone and she complains?? the whole intent of wearing such revealing clothes is to get that attention... its all about intentions ppl...many ppl have said this before and many ppl will say it again but its your intentions that count and only Vahiguru can judge you..
  5. the latter sai baba which laleshwari talks about is constantly caught up in controversy.... there have been numerous claims of him sexually molesting women and men... either way wether he is a divine man or not should not bother us... we have our true Guru with us today...no need for anything else!
  6. does it matter wat bikramjit singh said?? all he said was how sikhs froms outside wanted 2 disassociate themselves form india... but you said how singhs from outsiude did nothing.... you started the discussion on overseas sikhs and their contribution, and now youve given us your opinion...therefore from my part there is no need for me to continue.... incase anyone missed out "ideal singhs" view on the contribution of outside sikhs ill repost it... IDEAL SINGH SAID: k ideal ive seen your views no need for any more hurtful remarks so ill end my bit on this thread... vahiguru ji ka khalsa vahiguru ji ki fateh
  7. lol ummmm no mate!! if you go to an akj amrit sanchaar they DO NOT say to you you cannot read raagmala.... agreed their are members of AKJ sangat who do not believe it...but there are those that do believe it equally... so unless all akj members were making a big hoo haa about it like you i dont think you could say that, and even if they did i would still think you were wrong... AKJ arnt there to be panthic dushts or anything like that.... they dont claim any false bani or twist bani.....they dont believe in something....and although i dont believe it its not as if their views on the subject are completely bogus and they have some good points... Akj dont care for politics...they are a kirtani jatha and nothing more, not a political group, nt a business but just a kirtani jatha... and khalsa soulja is right....people like me and him(i dont know if im able to speak fir you so sorryif i go agianst your beliefs KS) havnt seen an amazing belief chandging proof on either side...so how can you blame them...once again im sorry KS if i used ur example wrongly, dats wat i thort ur views were... vahiguroo ji ka khalsa vahiguroo ji ki fateh!!
  8. on one hand u say I have absolutely no doubtz that everybody sincere is/has doing his/her bit for the cause of Sikhism but the only this that irks me is the BS of 'Punjabi' Sikhz or 'Western' Sikhz or 'Whatever' Sikhz... Cant we just call ourselves Sikhz... A single united identity... We Sikhz... den d next minute u label us again...u dont make up your mind When all the atrocities were being committed on Sikhz in Punjab, what were all overseaz Sikhz doing. No one could gather the courage to call an International Human Rights Org to intervene... like Amnesty International etc... Where were these "so called" overseaz Punjabi Sikhz then read dat again..... and den the next thing u sed was I have absolutely no doubtz that everybody sincere is/has doing his/her bit for the cause of Sikhism but the only this that irks me is the BS of 'Punjabi' Sikhz or 'Western' Sikhz or 'Whatever' Sikhz... now is that not hypocritical??? dont avoid d question like u did last time...cz you say something...then when confronted about it you go on the defensive and say what is this bullshit about western sikhs or wateva wen it was YOU who started it.. so instead of avoiding it again tell me why on one hand you say that you hate this bullshit of western sikhs or indian sikhs wateva, but then you also accuse western sikhs of not doing anything???
  9. i agree but correct me if im wrong but i believe it was you who 1st labelled us as NRI sikhs.... and it was you who wrote out these lines and NOW you say that we shouldnt label each other...after you complained about us not doing enough and after you started the thread about "western" sikhs... if you gonna tell us to be united you show it too...coz from where im standing it lks as tho your being a bit hypocritical.
  10. wat didnt western sikhs do?? sikhs pressured those groups but at the end of the day its up to those groups wether they choose 2 act.... the problem lies deeper than wat meets the eye...The GOI tactics are cleverer than we think...n i think "western" sikhs are the only ones campaigning for anything at the moment, at least they are the only ones maing their presence felt... so before you say what did we do....tell us what we didnt do!
  11. praavah i dont care about NRI indians...im def. nt a proud indian but i wont go into that(and i find it hard to believe any sikh is after the way they treat us)...wat i was shocked to read was this... sardu i dont know if its a matter of we not on the same wavelength and you say sometihng and me understanding another thing....but small things you say like Khalistan is pointless really hurts some ppl...i mean i didnt realy pay atention...but think of al the singhs that died for khalsitan...and inadvertently you've described it as pointless...
  12. exactly steel.... but srdu..lol y is tehre no point??
  13. its obviously not wrong to jap satnam...but i always understood that wen u do saasgiraas u do waheguru...i could very easily be wrong so sorry if i am... wat about the shabad "vahiguroo gurmantar hai" oh and hari...i dont agree that a sikh cnt b a ghost.... if a sikh does bad things involves himself in kala mantar etcc etcc den he is nt protected from being that joon... but then again you could argue "rehitbinaa nahi sikh kehaavai" and that would make such a person not a sikh???i dno...
  14. 2 put it simply yes they do exist.... they are a joon within themselves.... rupz wat u must understand is that the WHOLE world is God's play...even teh stuff which seems bad to you...its all Waheguru's creation...there is no challenge to him like christinanity believes devil...there is just God as the all powerful... dont make this into a ghost story arena...its a waste of time...concentrate on something in sikhi which will be benefit.... by doing your naam simran ALL your answers will come to you...and im not just saying that it really is true so just do something that will actually benefit you...instead of thinking about negative thoughts which will bring you negativatity, concentrate more on positive thoughts like sewa, naam, paath...that will be the only use for you... do benthee to the sangat...we've all had phases where these things fascinate us, but go to a learned elder Gursikh and ask this question...most of them wont touch the topic with a bargepole...because once you know it exists, you dont want to think about these things... you say sikh means 'learner'...and this isnt dorected at you but what i always find funny is that people only want to 'learn' about things which wont really help sikhi like scary stories....but when it comes to learning paath everyone says forget it!!
  15. your using examples of sants to justify you choosing the easy way out for your amritvela....its harder to do it the correct way so ppl will find reasons for alternatives... we can only help/show our opinion and im sure that mine wont convince you so ill leave you to it....
  16. yeh good article...bt laleshwari is rite in that wen u see "simply the holy book of the sikhs" it makes you cringe almost.... and its nt basically the holy book of the sikhs...its our Guru! and that cant be simplified in any way....
  17. to be blunt....sardu ur talkin out <admin-cut> how does sikhi belong to india!! wat kind of stupid logic is that!!! sikhi belongs to noone but Guru Ji's and Akal Purakh... 1st of all im glad that im nt a singh in india....at the moment its a disgrace to sikhi...my brother went 2 india just now and at the local gurdwareh there was never anyone there...and the lack of singhs was upsetting... how can sikhi belong to such a place?? it doesnt and never did....and ne1 who says it does is just talking crap... sorry to be so harsh but all this indians are best coz sikhi started here attitiude pissed me off
  18. a key word in sikhi.........PROGRESSION we're not at Baba Harnam Singh's level....in time that may come with Guru Ji's Bakshish...but at the moment, our bodies cannot handle that, or mine neway?? jjj i agree that IDEALLY it would be great to replace sleep with simran....but you are planning on staying awake till after you have done your amrit vela and THEN sleeping...wich to me is taking the easy way out?? go 2 sleep den wake up and do it.....the whole point is that your paath should be the 1st action of the day..... your day will begin once you get up from sleep so i PERSONALLY wouldnt classify what you are doing as proper amritvela rather it is the easy wayout.
  19. i agree wid steel bangle.... this caste argument will only work if you are both within sikhi...because otherwise he'll just turn around and accuse you of picking and choosing... i hope the caste system does go....but while its still here...be honest with your parenst.... if you go through lives with your parents being happy for you you cant go far wrong...(unless they bit mash up themselves? :x ) but be honest....no guy/girl in the world can replace your family...
  20. i dont knwo about others personal beliefs.... but what i have always understoof from katha and vichaar given to me by elder GurSikhs is that staying up all night and then goin sleep after you have done nitnem is like cheating the system.... instead of stayin up watchin tv at night or wateva you do go to sleep earler...1st of all your mind is kept away from all the trash you see on tv at that time... so my advice would be go to sleep at an early time and then wake up at 3am/4am have your ishnaan...then do naam simran (how much is dependant on your jeevan) everyone is able to do 10 min tho...then do your Nitnem banis...then i find it better to do some simran after aswell... if you have work in the morning then you may go to sleep later....as you continue to do this you may find you dont need the extra sleep as your body gets used to it and in which case you can add more banis to your nitnem... but jjj, from my opinion half of the thing of amritvela for me is showing your discipline for getting up to rollow your Guru Ji's rehat.... Anyone can stay up all night and then sleep later...but its the discipline behind getting out of bed...even if it means go sleep for an hour or 2, then get up...its better than choosing the easy way out by staying up??? notice in the below shabad Guru Ji says shall RISE in the morning... i dunno that just the way i understood it to be.... This Shabad is by Guru Raam Daas Ji in Raag Gauree on Pannaa 305 gur sathgur kaa jo sikh akhaaeae s bhalakae outh har naam dhhiaavai || One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name. oudham karae bhalakae parabhaathee eisanaan karae a(n)mrith sar naavai || Upon arising early in the morning, he is to bathe, and cleanse himself in the pool of nectar. oupadhaes guroo har har jap jaapai sabh kilavikh paap dhokh lehi jaavai || Following the Instructions of the Guru, he is to chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. All sins, misdeeds and negativity shall be erased. fir charrai dhivas gurabaanee gaavai behadhiaa out(h)adhiaa har naam dhhiaavai || Then, at the rising of the sun, he is to sing Gurbani; whether sitting down or standing up, he is to meditate on the Lord's Name. jo saas giraas dhhiaaeae maera har har so gurasikh guroo man bhaavai || One who meditates on my Lord, Har, Har, with every breath and every morsel of food - that GurSikh becomes pleasing to the Guru's Mind. jis no dhaeiaal hovai maeraa suaamee this gurasikh guroo oupadhaes sunaavai || That person, unto whom my Lord and Master is kind and compassionate - upon that GurSikh, the Guru's Teachings are bestowed. jan naanak dhhoorr ma(n)gai this gurasikh kee jo aap japai avareh naam japaavai ||2|| Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of that GurSikh, who himself chants the Naam, and inspires others to chant it. ||2||
  21. VahiGurooo Ji ka khalsa Vahigurooo Ji Ki Fateh!!! basically gina....everything in this world that happens to you is through your actions in this life and your previous lives... ill give a few lines of a shabad to give you more of an understanding... Guru Arjun Dev Ji Maharaaj wrote the shabad tera keea meetha laageh.... which means your actions seem so sweet to me...its submitting yourself to the will of God.... Guru Arjun Dev Ji Maharaj could have changed the whole world in an instant if he wanted...but he didnt...he accepted the will of god. When Guru Ji attained Shaheedi and went back to sachkhand, he could have chosen not to go...but he lived according to what he preached...as did all our Guru Sahibans.. So when something bad happens(i know this is easier said than God), remember it as being the Waheguru's Hukum...it was our fault in our previous lives...and we now suffer for it... but you can change this! The power of Naam is so great that it can wash all your pichley paap. Guru Ji blessed you by giving you the chance to be a sikh and shakk his amrit....dont hesitate and become his daughter/son!! sori this is dragging on, but one last thing.... you dont do your paath and treat it like a chore....thats useless...we should love to our gurus ustat and to sing his praises.... if you sit down and think "oh i have to do my paath now" and read through quickly...then it is of no use to us..."Raaj na chaao Mukt na Chaoo"....sewa and paath is not to be done in order for us to gain something or for us to think i want to be liberated....it should be done for the love of the sewa, paath, reciting the name of our beloved Waheguru!! we need love not empty words for our Guru!(and practice what the GurBani tells you) ill leave you with one shabad which i feel is ideal for your question...my or anyone elses vichaar is useless unless it come from Guru Ji, so heres teh direct source.. Dassan Dass VahiGurooo Ji ka khalsa Vahigurooo Ji Ki Fateh!!!
  22. r u talkin bout "nihung niddar singh"? i think it does need 2 b said??
  23. ok where wud u go to do darshan of your guru....where would you find the sadh sangat?? instead of sayin this happens at my gurdwara or that happens, why dont you be a true singh and try and change it....make a voice...do something for the youth...look ath when the harmandir sahib was filled with mughal rulers and dancing girls... do u think the singhs said "oh this is messed up...im gonna stop going gurdwara now" NO! they done something about it! do u think when our gurdwareh were filled with all teh corruption and pointless rituals before the singh sabha movement that singhs thought "too mcuh pointless rituals happen there im gonna stop goin!" you can make a difference!! educate them...and if need be if someone is trying to get a marriage like that done go there n stop by education and if thatd doesnt work you do it physically! a singh does not stand on the sidelines and complain!!
  24. 1st of all when you get a tattooo they remove your hair over that area....(yes even if you cnt see it!) to stop any chance of infection.... and secondly.... someone mentioned the ik onkar tattoos on the back of hands... i cant think of a greater beyadhbi of bani.... just think of what ppl do with that same hand!! i.e cleanin ur ass... is that how much respect some peopl have?
