  1. Sat Sri Akal: Nihung = Sikh. That's about it.
  2. Sat Sri Akal: N30 S!NGH Ji, I am too stupid to tell anyone what words to use. Just be careful when labeling someone a Brahm Gyani...too often I go to Gurudwaras and see those words thrown around. Every kathakari is called a Brahm Gyani nowadays. I even attended a close family friend's rememberance ceremony after his funeral and someone called him a Brahm Gyani!!! People have gotten in the habit of using that word as freely as Raagi or Granthi. So comments were addressed to them, not you. Sorry for confusion.
  3. Sat Sri Akal: Shouldn't throw around the word Brahmgyani too easily cause only a Brahmgyani knows the depth of a Brahmgyani: barahm gi-aanee kee gat barahm gi-aanee jaanai. Only the God-conscious being can know the state of the God-conscious being. Sukhmani Sahib.
  4. Sat Sri Akal: Consult Bhai Gurdas Sahib's Vaaran, Pauri 1. Guru Nanak Sahib indeed went to Mecca in the disguise of a Muslim of the times, but to teach a lesson. He did similar voyages to Hindu pilgrimage sites as well to teach. (Source: http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?Sour...o=01&Line_No=32 ) In it is written: baabaa fir maakae gayaa neel basathr dhhaarae banavaaree|| Donning blue attire then Baba Nanak went to Mecca. aasaa haathh kithaab kaashh koojaa baa(n)g musaalaa dhhaaree|| He held staff in his hand, pressed a book under his armpit, caught hold of a metal pot and mattress. bait(h)aa jaae maseeth vich jithhae haajee haaj gujaaree|| Now he sat in a mosque where the pilgrms (hajis) had gathered. jaa(n) baabaa suthaa raath noo(n) vaal mehiraabae paa(n)e pasaaree|| When Baba (Nanak) slept in the night spreading his legs towards the alcove of mosque at Kaba, jeevan maaree lath dhee kaerrhaa suthaa kur kuaaree|| the qazi named Jivan kicked him and asked who was this infidel enacting blasphemy. lathaa(n) val khhudhaae dhae kiou(n)akar paeiaa hoe bajagaaree|| Why this sinner is sleeping his legs spread towards God, Khuda. tta(n)go(n) pakarr ghaseettiaa firiaa maakaa kalaa dhikhaaree|| Catching hold of the legs he lynched (Baba Nanak) and lo and behold the miracle, the whole of Mecca seemed to be revolving. hoe hairaan karaen juhaaree ||aa|| All got surprised and they all bowed.
  5. Sat Sri Akal: The Muslims say that Sikhism is a branch of Islam, the Jews state that the entirity of humanity is from the Middle East, Gandhi stated that all of the world religions are from Hinduism.
  6. Sat Sri Akal: This guy is whacko. He thinks that Sikhism and Khalsa are two separate entities and that certain castes have screwed Sikhism. He's lost. Too much metallurgy will do that to you.
  7. Sat Sri Akal: Sikh_Soulja Sahib, tight underwear also has a problem...like making men sterile. It moves the testes closer to the body, raising the temprature in the testes - a situation that decreases sperm count. Also, free clothing lets air circulate, keeping the area free of excess moisture, which can cause a large amount of diseases. If women wear tight underwear, this excessive moisture can cause bacterial growth and lead to urinary tract/vaginal infections (men can also get urinary tract infections...but a little bit more difficult) or other unpleasant conditions. So that is why looser underwear is better off. And about making "obvious things less obvious" - yeah, that could also lead to anatomic discomfort and abnormalities (one word - bending). Get me?
  8. Sat Sri Akal: First, Nihung Santa Singh recognized the supremacy of the Akal Thakat. Wanna know how? He apologized and served his punishment given by the Akal Thakat for his little Indira-supported post-1984 transgression. He recognized the Akal Thakat as the authority of Sikhism. Talk is indeed cheap. Go observe that action. The Akal Thakat is the supreme organization of the Sikh Panth. Even your Baba recognized that. The ONLY thing that SGPC was instructed to do was to PUBLISH the Rehat Maryada, AFTER it was approved by a meeting where many Sikh opinions met and discussed (Nirmalas and Nihungs were also contributors to that Rehat Maryada) to get the opinions of the Khalsa Panth before making a draft. And please, Guru Panth is NOT Nihungs only. Guru Panth is the Khalsa, which was the only organization the Guru Sahib himself was a part of. The Khalsa is comprised of the Amritdhari Sikhs, not just Nihungs. The Khalsa Panth was consulted while making the Rehat Maryada and the final draft was passed. Lastly, a lot is made about Nihung this and Nihung that. As stated before, a Nihung is a Sikh who will fight to the death for Sikhism. It is the ACTIONS that make a Nihung, not talk. You hate SGPC and their anti-Sikh actions: Do something about it rather than speaking whispers on the internet. If you truly want the Nihungs to be the vanguard of the Sikh Panth, then do something worthy of your heritage instead of talking about pot and hate about other Sikhs.
  9. Sat Sri Akal: So both of you are smarter than Guru Sahib eh?
  10. Sat Sri Akal: Narsinga, did I not tell you to take care of Bhaniarawala? What type of Nihung are you that lets a person who insults Guru Sahiban live? Go do some real work.
  11. Sat Sri Akal: Well, until those two years are up, the writings of Bhai Daljit Singh stand. Remind us again in two years.
  12. Sat Sri Akal: Bibi Ji, your question is backwards. The question is: wat exactly is the point of us being here with him? ramana(n) kaevala(n) keerathana(n) sudhharama(n) dhaeh dhhaaraneh || To sing the Kirtan of God's Praises is the righteous duty incurred by taking birth in this human body. (Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Salok Sehshritee, 1356).
  13. Sat Sri Akal: Nihung Baba Nihal Singh being one of the good ones...
  14. Sat Sri Akal: Oh Jathedar Sahib, is a Sikh not supposed to be a Saint first and a Soldier next? NEVER is the Soldier component to ever override the Saint. Even in combat, the Sikh's Shastar is driven by Gurbani. Therefore, stating that the Kshytria component is to be predominant is not in line with the concept of Sant-Siphai. And following this logic, a Sikh would have to be called a Brahmin...which does not go over too well with anyone!!!
  15. Sat Sri Akal: Lalleshvari Sahib, another thing University students are told in evaluation of statements is that when one is made, proper quotation of the reference material should be given, especially when it is not considered common knowledge.
  16. Sat Sri Akal: Some Nihungs are good people...the embodiment of Sikhism. But what about those who do commit crimes? Perhaps, instead of taking general offence to the whole of Nihungs, the Nihungs should be "dealing" with these people who spoil the title of Nihungs.
  17. Sat Sri Akal: What about the Brahmin aspect...they one in which the Sikhs mind is continuously engaged in Gurbani? What about the Vaishvyas...who had to carry on a hard day's work to earn money? What about the humility of the Shudra? A ideal Sikh is the embodiment of ALL FOUR castes...the perfect human, not just one.
  18. Sat Sri Akal: I ask for more...quote it.
  19. Sat Sri Akal: Take the Rehat of the Panj Pyare as the absolute command of the Almighty. Read the Guru Granth Sahib and treat it as the absolute command of the Almighty. Rinse and repeat.
  20. Sat Sri Akal: Well, there is this sakhi. Once, Sant Attar Singh Sahib was sitting staring at the clouds. He sat and stared for hours on end. His sangat was puzzled and finally, after a few hours, approached him and asked what he was looking at. He stated that just as the clouds were moving west, so Sikhism will one too. Sikhism is a creation of the Almighty. Don't worry too much about it going downhill or uphill. The Almighty will do what it will do. Just know that no human force can conquer it.
  21. Sat Sri Akal: So, Dasam Granth was present in 1699? Nope. Guru Gobind Singh Sahib himself composed many small pothis with each Bani separate. So Jaap Sahib was separate from Chandi Charitar, which was separate from Tria Charitar etc. AFTER the death of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, Bhai Mani Singh Sahib compiled all of the Banis of the Tenth Master into one granth, the Dasam Guru Da Granth. This is why there was such an uproar during Massa Rangar's time. The Sikhs wanted to separate the Banis of Guru Gobind Singh from the Dasam Granth back to separate pothis. Upon going for their mission, Baba Mehtab Singh and Baba Sukha Singh made a deal: If they returned alive, the Dasam Granth would stay one; if they did not return, the Dasam Granth could be kept as one Granth. Since they were successful, the Granth stayed as one: The Dasam Granth. This was researched by one Bhai Daljit Singh, who committed his life to Sikh literature study, indicating that the Dasam Granth did not exist then. There are such things as Gutkas and Panj Pyare that have memorized Gurbani needed for Amrit Sanchar... And where does this leave the Sarbloh Granth???
  22. Sat Sri Akal: Sorry: "Even if Guru Gobind SIngh did not give Guruship to the two Granths you still have Guru Panth represented by Budha Dal who has done it. so it is pointless to argue. The modern SGPC are not the Panth and they can't change this.!!!" Read this: The code of conduct and conventions recorded in the pages thatfollow was received by the S.G.P.C. from its Code of Conduct and Conventions Sub-Committee with its report reproduced herein below: (source: http://www.sikh.net/sikhism/rehat_maryada.htm ) Report of S.G.P.C.'s Code of Conduct and Conventions Sub-Committee To The Secretary, S.G.P. 23. Sat Sri Akal: Khalsas are Kshytrias? Yeah...? The same Kshytrias who refused to take Amrit because the "lower castes" had drank from it? The same Kshytrias that married off their own daughters to the Mughals to prevent their little kingdoms from being trampled? Or maybe the Kshytrias who were do craven that they attacked Guru Gobind Singh? Which Kshytria are you?
  24. Sat Sri Akal: Yep, think it weighed in at 37 pounds. That's like fighting with two Atta sacks (although, the Khanda probably cut better).
  25. Sat Sri Akal: Sorry, Guru Granth Sahib (NOT Adi Granth Sahib) is the complete Guru and should occupy the throne solely. Should there be a copy of the Dasam Granth and Sarbloh Granth in the Gurudwara kept with respect...sure...but not at the level of the Guru Granth Sahib. (Here it comes...   )...
