You think us "NRI's" have never been to India to see the "real" Nihang Singhs.Well I can tell you for a fact, I remember 24 years ago jhatka and shaheedi deg were practiced openly in Harian Vela (Tarna Dal).I have seen for my self.Why has it been stopped there now?Or at least I have heard jhatka and sukha are not openly practiced at Harian Vela anymore.Why??? This is the same Nihang Dal that is presented as the "real" Nihang's by Singh Sabhia types.And Budha Dal as the "bad" Dal. Jhatka and sukha was practiced at Harian Vela, until quite recently.Were they "bad" Nihangs when they practiced Jhatka Gatka?Now they are good? :roll:

Dhan Satguru Nanak Nirankar Shastar Vidiya as taught by Nihang Niddar Singh Ji is a legitamate martial art.The Sva Raksha (platha) taught by him is easy to learn and highly practical.I was amazed by the self defence taught by him. Yes you are right.I've said this before, but it's a shame that the Gobind Sadan Dasam Guru Granth rendition is full of Gurbani spelling/printing mistakes. I recommend the 8 volume Steek of Dasam Granth by Pandit Gyani Narain Singh Ji.Get it now, it's good.

Reading Gurbani is about gaining (atmik) knowledge, not about meaningless repitition. The point of doing paath is to gain gyaan.And Gurbani has quite a few layers of gyaan.There is the outer meaning and inner meanings. For instance I found that that the "Eka Mai Jugat via-i..." pauri in Jap Ji Sahib has 3 meanings to me.There is the outer, and inner and another meaning within the inner, which is hard for me to explain at the moment. Understanding Gurbani is a very personal matter to me.That is why I don't often try to explain my understanding of Gurbani.Not any more anyway.Thoree aqal aa gaee mainoo
