  1. WJKK WJKF What exactly do ppl understand by the words black magic? Can someone tell me because I am too lazy to read that whole paper on the link that Admin Bhaji posted  . I might be mixing the concept up with "ridhia sidhia". Can anyone please clarify. WJKK WJKF
  2. I think it did exist in the past, but I havent really heard of any recent stories suggesting that it is still in existance today.
  3. Interesting.......very interesting. Will the clone contain a soul? I think not. What is the use of a body without a soul? The only thing that I can think of for that the clone might be useful for is for body organs. But the whole concept is just wrong, I think.
  4. Gur Fateh!! I think I wasted my time reading all this. I just seen you guys just slandering each other, which I thought was a waste of time. As to these really contraversial issues, I think that they should not be discussed because this never yields a definite answer. There will be ppl stuck on their view and one cannot change that, it only creates more hatred between the both parties. This is a discussion forrum and things these things should be discussed, but what about the new comers to sikhi? How confused will they be? They will just think sikhi today is a bunch of people just slandering each other and at the end of it, all is for nothing. Sorry If I have offended anyone. I have little or no brains, so all this just gets to me quickly. Take it easy  Gur Fateh!
  5. I dont think that this debate cant ever be solved because there are those that believe in sants and there are those that who dont, but definitely there are some that do nindhiaa of sants and that is wrong. In sukhmani sahib Guru ji talks about what happens to ppl who do nindhiaa of sants. This is a personal thing and every individual here is free do as they choose. At the end of the day, whether you choose to believe or not believe in sants, everyone came alone into the world and are going to go alone from it.
  6. It is by Waheguru's kirpa that when we go to our next janam, we dont remember anything of that janam and given a chance to start from fresh.
  7. Fateh Ji "u see kenyan singhs or african singhs - majority of them shave - how can a religion be spread by poeple who dont follow it correctly?.. " Paaji steel ji , I believe that there were loads of trim chin singhs, but that was in the past. If you look now, you will be amaized to see the amount of ppl coming into sikhi in Kenya . It is all good from where I see it. But I can understand where you are coming from, cause I have lived most of my life there. Coming to the point where why didnt the Sikhs in Kenya try to bring ppl into the faith. I think it has been mensioned here by many ppl that sikhi cannot be forced on to anyone, it is a choice that one has to make. At the end of the day it comes down to is pyaar, how much pyaar has one got for guru ji, because without out pyaar there isnt anything.( hope you get what I am trying to say!). I think once again I have gone off the topic so please forgive me. If I have stated anything wrong, please feel free to correct me  . Fateh Ji.
  8. WJKK WJKF! Sikhi is not just a faith but a way of life......so has been there since the begining, is there in the present and will be there in the future. But I know that doesnt answer your question, but I just felt like posting this...sorry. To understand this better can I raise a question here if you dont mind, Who is a sikh or what is maharaj ji's definition of a gursikh?? WJKK WJKF!
  9. Fateh Ji That story is one of the many childhood stories I heard, but this particular one isnt for the faint hearted. You have to have some knowledge of Sanscrit and Urdu to understand the recording  which I didnt have at that time, so got really little from that tape. Definitely would like to hear it again. He talks about everything from when he died....really spooky stuff. That tape will get you praying . fateh Ji!
  10. I have a poem here but dont know who wrote it, if anyone knows please reply, it is really beautyful. SUKHMANI "Eh akhar nahi eh pathre nahi". These are not words these are not pages "Eh akhar nahi eh pathre nahi", These are not words these are not pages "Eh seena hai Guru Arjan dha". This is the body of Guru Arjan Dev ji "Eh seena hai Guru Arjan dha", This is the body of Guru Arjan Dev ji "Darshan karna sukhmani dha", If you read Sukhmani sahib "Darshan karna Guru Arjan dha". It is like you are in the presense of Guru Arjan Dev ji.
  11. WJKK WJKF! I never knew that. I remember in my childhood days my mom used read us to sakhis from the janam sakhi!, now only to find that they are discredited , makes me sad. I used love hearing those stories when I was a kid and we still have it. I will have to look into this. Are there any links to where it is mensioned that it is discredited :?:. WJKK WJKF
  12. Good to hear that you gonna stay true to your faith sis! Keep it up. Fateh Ji!
  13. "if someone makes fun of your phug be racist back......if they call you paki call them cracker or nigger.....if they are muslim and they make fun of guru nanak or whatever make fun of prophet mohammed and his 9yr old wife...." I dont think that is the best option. So what you are basically saying, if some one is a moorakh, so you become a moorakh yourself. Somehow I dont think that is the best way, because you would be dropping down to their own level. If you are bullied, let your parents know or let the teacher know about the problem. If someone calls you an idiot, does that make you an idiot? If you respond to the accusation then you will have proven that you are an idiot, for example if someone calls out " Sam", you will not respond if that is not your name. If the bully knows that you are not at all affected by what they are saying so it will be pointless for him/her to continue to do that. You have to be confident and explain where necessary, if you were bullied because the other person is ignorant. I dont think that it would not be a good idea to say anything bad about the other person's religion. One thing that we are taught is to forgive, look into the sakhi of Bhai Ghanaiyaa ji.
  14. This happened in the 1960's I think or earlier when the gurdwara in Makindu( a small town in the middle of nowhere on the way to Mombasa,Kenya) was about to be built or was newly built. One night some kalaa, I think he was the watch man, saw someone who had a beard and wearing a turban come down from the sky on a horse and strait in to the gurdwara. He said that the person stayed there for a little while and then left again up the sky. The watchman was so scared that he went to consult with one of the singhs staying there. The singh said that the person must have been guru ji. As a result there are more kale singhs who do seva at the gurdwara. It is a very lovely and peaceful place especially at amrit vela. You can see mount Killimanjaro from the highest point of the gurdwara. This is just a vision which the person experienced, so you cant take this as one of guru ji's journeys and it is in the wrong time period. The time period you should look at is 1666-1708. Good luck in your research! I am sure that there are loads of knowledgeable gursikhs here who can help you with your research. Dont take what I said to be the truth, cause it might be an interpretation of what I understood or heard, but hope that it helped. Fateh Ji!!
  15. Dont worry veer ji , I fount it on sikhnet as well. http://www.sikhnet.com/Sikhnet/Music.nsf/5...88!OpenDocument ......... it is just bunderful I tell yaa!!

  17. I dont know much but I really like the comics and other small story books. There are loads of books you could choose from, one of them being the warrior princes by harjit lakhan. If you want to go into depth, any book by bhai randhir singh ji. Others are in punjabi if you can read that, there is one which I loved totally, bhai bala jis janam sakhi! hope you can choose one to your liking.
  18. I have read your comment and was really informative Bhai sahib ji, but I have only one question. What about the person who has woken up at 2am in the morning and is into the path of sikhi and wants to take amrit, if he/she was not allowed to have sangat of gursikhs doing simran, then wouldnt that distract the person and have second thoughts on getting into sikhi. From personal experience, it is hard for me to concentrate alone( hope I can reach that state) but it is easier if there were gursikhs doing simran and I joined in. Sorry for this....I said one question but it another one has come up. When doing naam simran, is pyaar important?? If I have said anything wrong then please forgive cause I have little or no knowledge. Waheguru Ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh!
  19. Dating is not allowed in sikhi, I think. Look at it in this way, if you believe that you going through this circle of life to attain mukti. If you were a human in your past life, there must have been a family. You were not able to attain mukti in that life and was given another chance in this life. Lets say that you decide to date and go out. How certain are you that the person you are dating is not your sister, mother, aunty or etc and vice versa from a female perspective. The friends, family and people that you have met in this life, will meet again in the next. But one might argue about the partner you choose to marry. Isn't he/she your family? Guru ji has already selected a partner and he/she would be the one you will marry. That is sanjog.( this is what I believe). Must have heard ppl say " jithe likhiaa otheii hona" ( pardon me for the poor punjabi). Why I started to believe this? It is when I heard the story of how the mughals tried to tempt Hari Singh Nehlwa to loose his dharam. If you are waiting for that story...can someone help with it.....I am really lazy and wont be able to type that much.......I am tired already by writing this much  For this topic, I think it is a person thing. If you want to progress further in sikhi, would you want to waste any time of the little we have?? It is up to you....but just remember. This janam is like a diamond, very precious so dont loose it. To get a definite answer , ask Guru ji!
  20. Once there was a lion's cub, who got lost in the jungle. He was found by a herd of sheep who accepted the cub as their own. The cub started growing in the belief that it was a sheep. It learnt to bleat and started eating grass. One day, the cub was alone and strayed to a pond in the jungle. It looked down in the water. They say, a loud roar went up in the jungle which was heard miles away. The cub realized who he was. A single lion in the company of sheep had started behaving like sheep! Let us also see ourselves, realize what we are, and help the next generation to realize that they are true Singhs of Guru Gobind Singh. Let us remember that if the cub's face had also started looking like a sheep, he would never have found out his identity.
