as hard as it may be for you to believe bambookat ji.... i'm not getting paid for this at all.... I just think it's time that as the future generation that we should support each others endeavours and work together.... The magazine is really good, and for us here in western canada (excluding BC) we don't really have a magazine that's for us... the ones we do have are crappy and ripped off the internet... So that's that... but i think we should all support it, esp once the onine version is up....

It's not the hating thing Sukhi.... But to me the problem kinda is that Americans refuse to see themselves as anything less than the world's saviours, they have to realise that they ain't no saints in this world here, they've got to realise that what their actions are are wrong, and that they should demand their government to stop this bs, and work things differently.... That's what needs to be done.....Americans need to wake up and smell the coffee... (i think that they've been put to sleep through the use of chloroform or sumthing, i mean can they seriously be that sheltered)

Usually first born sons are called kul deepaks because the are continuing their family line (the candle of the family is still burning sort of thing, u kno)

Ok, so here's my two bits: Bambookat raised a question about why is the US the greatest power in the world: the answer is they are financially much better off than the rest of the world, why is that, because their businesses go into third world counteries pay the ppl their below avg wages, make them work in sweatshop conditions so that they can make a 200x+ profit on it.... that's why.... How can one support such a country when they blatantly have disregarded human rights in other counteries for employees. The US has never paid their portion for the running of the UN, however they still are one of the 5 with the veto rights... does that make any sense.... You can argue that there are leaders out their that have killed more and have done far worse atrocities, but looking at their size power and overall influence in the world those counteries are not a superpower.... ppl disregard them anyways.... One would think that being in the constant spotlight and having such power that the USA would constructively work towards peace and helping others out, however they don't and instead stoop to the level of the other counteries and committ the same crime if not worse... Americans probably feel that the treatment of the prisoners of war in Iraq has been blown out of proportion or that Japan has committed more serious POW crimes in past history.... that was past history, and everyone back then treated the POW crappily... we are living in the 21st century here, basic human rights are guaranteed.... How can ppl excuse such behaviour, how can americans consider themselves role models after this....???????

Truth_seeker Ji, I understand your point completely, however there are those that choose to be ignorant and will not listen to your rational, at that point, it's all in Waheguru's hands, of whether he wants to bring that person closer to him, or if the person still needs the time to gain experience.... You can only educate a person who is willing to learn and understand, you cannot force someone to adopt your mentality....

lol, for sure.... The way i see it, it all has to do with our past karmas, and until we get to know those (basically become realized) we're not goin to be able to say anything about why we act the way we do....

JSB bhaji, I have to agree with Jahan on this one here: We know that Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Jesus Christ and the Prophet Mohammed are prophets now, but ppl didn't recognize that then first and foremost, they were radicals in their time period. Just because we're born into a religion, does not mean we must adhere to it, otherwise, we wouldn't be the sikhs we are today, nah... cuz someone in our ancestry had to have converted and followed this religion before us... Whatever buddhi/siddhi we are given it is through God's divine blessings.... whatever decisions we make, are through God's divine intervention...we may not see conversion out of sikhism as being good, but perhaps it's a bigger plan of his for that individual... who are we to judge.... I hope i din't offend anyone.... just my two bits

However Jahan Ji, How often do you have the Granthi explaining what is in the SGGS... Most of the time, I see them give sakhis or stories that have nothing to do with the shabad itself. I mean stories are nice, it gives an example, yet it is not explaining the essence of the SGGS.... You can have someone describe what is in the SGGS, you can have someone teach you it all, but you cannot experience blissfulness through that person, you have to realise it yourself... And you if read the SGGS with a true heart and no prejudice, then I believe that in time all will be revealed to that individual....

sikh princess bhenji, what i meant by my comment there is that I'm not for following ritualistic beliefs, which is what I see at the Gurdhwara, where they have certain prayers and events throughout the day centering around the SGGS... To me it is a book of knowledge which one must read and understand for themselves when they feel their at the right time in life to move on spiritually higher.... Therefore what i mean is that it is there as a reference for me.... I hope you understand that...

Harmless Ji, from reading the posts I understand that you want to spread the message as sikhi as being the pure and most direct path to Waheguru.... I love sikhi, however I'm not amritdhari and at the moment am not contemplating it.... To me, as long as I have love for my God, as long as I treat His creations all equally and as long as I strive to be the best human being while meditating on his name, to me... that's my religion, that's my focus I use sikhi as a guideline as to how i should run my life... but my life does not center around the SGGS, even though it is our Guru, My focus is on God Himself, Akaal, Waheguru, Narayan, Allah.... whatever, whoever you may call Him... the all powerful entity which surrounds us and guides us through life.... I'm glad your into Sikhi, that's good, however I'm not to keen on the way you make it seem like the world's going to be damned if a person isn't a sikh, as according to you.... There are many paths to God, and all have equal opportunities of reaching Him if they focus on themselves and not others... It's up to the individual to decide how they want to get there... I hope I din't offend anyone, that is not my aim... just thinking out loud so to speak....

I think my family has been sikh for a couple of generations for sure, however if one was to do a search on my last name, and try to follow up on it, then I've kinda figured out that my ancestors may have been muslims as they have a last name that mine could've been derived from... sooooo yeah, not sure, but it's interesting
