  1. I'm disappointed in our own people we couldn't sort out the terrorist problem when it first came about and still till today some of it grows in our own neighbourhoods.
  2. Check this article on Jatt culture http://www.apnaorg.com/articles/sandhu-1/
  3. Could someone setup a wiki page about this website and a sikhiwiki page about this and history

  4. You could argue Rajput equate themselves to Banda Singh Bahadur Khatri elevate themselves to Guru sahibs Jatts elevate themselves to Baba Budha ji and Baba Deep Singh All of Sikhi is one.. In the UK Gurdwaras which call themselves Singh Sabha are majority Jatt dominated. As for Khatris and Afghani (aroras) which you class together as Bhappa are also separated before 1947 afghani singhs and pakistani singh khatri and arora were together however treat each other ethnically so differently. This caste business is nonsense and we should go to each other guru ghars after all they all belong to guru sahib every gurdwara is for everyone. The commitee is there only to pay the bills they don't own it. We should promote intermarriages with kids born in other countries they adopt that culture so forget the past really we should allow understanding to develop and not drag differences and the past into it. For the most part we are all pretty much the same. There is a world of difference with muslims, gora, kala who we get along with better then those of a different caste. I have seen people go on and on about caste then there kids marry out of religion, culture and ethnicity and they still go on and on about caste. We are a small minority in the world practically nearly non-existent we shouldn't talk about tribes and castes otherwise we will be wiped out. Not all langar are cooked outside one thing to note is those gurdwaras were made in older times before central heating was made famous in colder climates when it really snowed and people got arthritis, other issues in which they couldn't sit on the floor. Even other so to say jatt gurdwara had tables and chairs. It was SGPC themselves who after seeing declared the rehat. With langar being brought in from outside is to do even with issues inside like kitchnes. Sometimes for weddings for ease of giving such they cater them even with timing issues. We have foil and other means to keep food warm for transportation so it is not a huge problem. The only issue might be utensil used but these are also used by what we call those who eat meat. There is generally a distance in kitchen to langar hall if they are not the same so have to be transported. It is all to do with the heat why people keep shoes on. The whole point of langar was equality, so even having people sat equally is as such. These days people sit on the floor in circles distancing from each other. In some gurdwaras we find people shouting at people, or not giving right portions. In some jatt majority gurdwaras they ask someones caste and family name, kicking out people of other castes this is a violation of rehat itself. We had problems with some gurdwaras who had wedding halls attached under gurdwara property and name that served meat and alcohol as ragharia gurdwara the satkar commitee banned it. Remember from each ancestory we have had great gursikhs in the past and do today and will have in the future. We are all one big family guru gobind singh established one amrit for all we are a family have intermarried in many cases. Loads of jatts, ramgharia, bhappa, lohar, brahmin, khatri, arora, chumar, ravidassi are all inter-related we have inter married already many times. To cause problems amongst each other is to cause problems between our own families.

Bhagat Kabir With the sugar cane thing I don't think it is literally sugar cane when bani uses the word mitha as of sweet it refers to spirtual sweetness to do with sweet actions, sweet words, the fruits and merits of meditation. I think it refers to how righteousness it treated in the world how in kaljug those as such will be mistreated for goodness and kindness. Also with mehla 1 it needs to be cross referenced with suraj prakash and janamsakhis to explain the nature and context of the bani. The time of Guru Nanak Dev ji and Bhagat Kabir and other gurus are different with time, place and context of argument. With the most of it I think we are being taught to be free thinkers.
  6. "He Himself is the fisherman and the fish and Himself the water and the net. He Himself is the metal ball of the net and Himself the bait within."(Guru Nanak, Sri Rag, pg. 23) "The tigers, hawks, kites and falcons, them the Lord causes to eat grass. Who eats grass, them He causes to eat meat. This way of life He can set agoing." (Guru Nanak, Slok, pg. 144) (Guru Nanak, Pg1289-1290 Guru Granth Sahib, Raga Malar) Born out of flesh, in flesh does man live. With life comes love of flesh, bones, skin, limbs All are flesh. As from flesh the living body issues, the breast that is flesh, It grasps in mouth. Of flesh is the mouth, of flesh the tongue, Through flesh is breath drawn. As is man grown up, matrimony he enters, And brings home flesh. Of flesh is born flesh, With flesh are all relationships established. By the touch of the holy Perceptor is the Divine Ordinance realized, Whereby comes fulfilment. Not by man's own effort comes liberation: Saith Nanak: Such talk only to perdition leads. (1) If the principle of impurity be admitted, then there is impurity everywhere. In cow-dung and wood there are worms. As many as are the grains of corn, none is without life. In the first place there is life in water, by which, all are made green. How can impurity be warded off? It falls on our own kitchen. Nanak, impurity is not removed like this. It is washed away by Divine Knowledge. The mind's impurity is avarice and the tongue's impurity falsehood. The impurity of the eyes is to behold another's woman, another's wealth and beauty. The impurity of the ears is to hear the slander of others with ears, Nanak, mortal's soul goes bout to the city of death. All impurity consists in doubt and attachment to duality. Birth and death are subject to Lord's command and through His will mortal comes and goes. Eating and drinking are pure, for the Lord has given sustenance to all. Nanak, the Gurmukh who know the Lord, to them impurity sticks not." 8. Lassi (punjabi milkshake) and cha (tea) have a fight. Lassi says look at me how beautiful and white, white I am.... and how black, ugly brown you are and how you stain utensils and how cool I am.... I am like white butter so white... upon churning of me I go to people,, as splashes come out making lassi... people drink me doing bhangra, I make peoples health upon drinking me... look at you cha you burn peoples chests.. goes on Cha goes oh I got it comming.. Oh Mai Bhaggo.... cha goes oh lassi bothering me, people who drink me are intelligent people... cha says how great I am, intellectual drink giving inspiration to people in just a drink some of the greatest men in the world drink me get so much inspiration...those who recognise my smile, I steal their hearts... I am like Lallia (from lalli majnu)... people drink me get better from colds and sore throats look at you, you give coughs, colds, and many problems...in just a sip I fix problems.. I am so, so beautiful people keep me nicely on tables.... Lassi then says look at your social status jaat caste.... you are dark complexioned... we have to put sugar in you... you are bitter, terrible, full of complaints, .... no beauty no nothing... you are as if some Jin- genie (angel/demon/spirti) came off a mountain... you go around as if your some queen....... you stain clothes and soap can not remove the stains.. Lassi turn says I inspire poets.... Now milk it is your turn to give justice.. Milk says what can I say girls...What can I say, this situation is tough and hard... .... As such cha is now nice, is tasty... (WE HAVE ADOPTED THAT CULTURE).... Lassi says to cha.... you came here as a beggar and now you have become as if this is your own home (referring to british imperialism the british raj of India) he goes on to say we have tea from british culture and lassi from our own talking about two cultures and how they interact and how now they have a belonging to do so we adopt both tea and lassi in ourlives. He is saying don't forget your lassi a comparison of integration of cultures in a poetic medium.
  9. I personally think guru sahib said only fools argue due to the nature of how pandits acted towards muslims who used to eat meat and muslims who acted against hindus who didn't and considered them to be inferior. Guru sahib in my opinon is not saying either veggeterianism is obivous or eating meat is... but the deeper meaning is tolerance, tolerance for those who eat meat and those who don't eat meat. Bhagati redeems either way, but Guru sahib tolerated everyone even the greatest of sinners who he redeemed. But in terms of guru rehat mayarda it would terrible if baba nand singh was right and terrible if the nihangs were right for the maryada for not sharing. We all agree to tolerate whoever does paap as we are paapis ourselves to do the nindya of someone who eats meat or who doesn't and to forget the humanity of the person. But Guru sahib path is as such we still look to find the truth inside of it if due to a lack of understanding in suraj prakash granth we don't know then we still to find out. I would say the main thing with animal cruelty is we can see it more visibly and even the jeev and atma has made so much bhagati to get a higher janam we understand from rocks and minerals the jeev gets to the form of a plant. Guru Hargobind Sahib didn't want to step on flowers and damage jeevs. When we see animals with 5 indras like us having eyes, ears and nose we kill them. Could we ever kill our dog or cat. Some eat dogs tongues could we ever. Chicken farming came in 6000years ago we wipped out the dodo bird, cows were used for farming why bother eating them, then with goats and fish we look into it's meat but people used to drink goats milk. Fish we don't know about catching them gurbani says those who have soora fish and bhang will go to hell.

  12. As Zulu said: any topics on here about the ramgarhia gurdwara history, anything to do with that? might be interesting to see what people know of it, or people who may have been there at the time when the first coined gurdwara of that name was done. many thanks if someone does find a topic before I have a search ---- by jassa singh ramgharia misl after they capture ramghar fort. Each misl had a so called understanding of sikh people understand that they descend from his misl. However ramgharia is used to describe people who were tarkhan - carpenters. Ramgharia means fort of ram (god). We have to go to the misl history. Then the migration to east africa majority tarkhans who called the gurdwaras ramgharia they migrated to europe and america taking the misl tradition. Generally some still hold onto the old tradition. some do prayer to baba vishkarma avtar of brahma to protect tools. proper singhs who claim descent from ramgharia misl will do ardas. So it is a means of respect of the decent. We need to look into the history of the misls how they were different and the same. Ramgharia bunga was made in harmandar sahib. However we have instances of misls intermarrying so gursikhs did marry. Some claim the misl was started by a sardar from jatt decent. Mahraja jassa singh altough descendent from carpenters was a gursikh and his ancestors made weapons for guru gobind singh ji. So the misl history itself is the start. Some websites worth reading into this matter good old niddar's stuff some of it bogus worth checking http://www.sarbloh.info/htmls/article_samparda_ramgharia.html then: http://www.sikh-history.com/sikhhist/events/m-ramgarhia.html http://www.sikh-heritage.co.uk/postgurus/ramgarhia2/ram%20Jassa%20Singh.htm http://www.ramgarhia.net/ http://www.thesikhmisl.com/The_Sikh_Misl/Ramgarhia_Misl.html http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~royalty//ips/families/misl_ramgharia.html http://www.searchsikhism.com/ramgharia.html http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/3569-ramgarhia-is-a-misl-not-a-caste-jaat/ http://www.info-sikh.com/PageMisl.html http://www.rstbirmingham.com/what-is-ramgarhia.html http://talwinder.blogsome.com/tarkhanramgharia/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Club-Ramgarhia/302411843986?sk=info http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=gqIbJz7vMn0C&pg=PA111&lpg=PA111&dq=ramgarhia+misl&source=bl&ots=fPB5CiUzUB&sig=gcX_PEwjA-MLMnEhhMUjHMhCb2U&hl=en&sa=X&ei=64sxT8r0B8mZ8QP6pISSBw&ved=0CDAQ6AEwATgU#v=onepage&q=ramgarhia%20misl&f=false http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=-7HJ5idB8_QC&pg=PA86&dq=ramgarhia&hl=en&sa=X&ei=-osxT-ejCMPn8QOW56yBBw&ved=0CEsQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=ramgarhia&f=false http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=aAIOAAAAQAAJ&pg=PA75&dq=ramgarhia&hl=en&sa=X&ei=-osxT-ejCMPn8QOW56yBBw&ved=0CGQQ6AEwCA#v=onepage&q=ramgarhia&f=false http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=sUxx1PPhq7gC&pg=PA196&dq=ramgarhia&hl=en&sa=X&ei=-osxT-ejCMPn8QOW56yBBw&ved=0CGoQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q=ramgarhia&f=false http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=7lKM4aWhIH0C&pg=PA54&dq=ramgarhia&hl=en&sa=X&ei=NowxT-rpPNTY8gODlq38Bg&ved=0CE8Q6AEwBDgK#v=onepage&q=ramgarhia&f=false
  13. Chimpanzees eat monkeys. Should we eat monkeys? I refute being related to monkeys and chimpanzees. There are some similar characteristics due to environment and habitat but that is not the case. Otherwise should we eat monkeys? http://www.beyondveg...p-anat-2a.shtml http://www.beyondveg...terview1e.shtml Loads of other primates eat insects, we are well known to conteract problems. With beef and pork you find social issues for why they don't sell with islam it says your not supposed to eat an animal you use such as a horse and camel. However with agriculture in india cows are used for that, the agriculture was limited in the desert of arabia. Chickens came into eating 6000years ago, so the main food groups we would have to consider is fish and goats, lamb, sheep i.e. mutton. How many chimpanzees eat mutton, how many apes eat mutton? A better food group then to consider would be fish? How many primates eat fish? Various scientific studies carried out show a variation of different descents of primates throughout various human groups so some changes in the diet would be assumed.
  14. You just contradicted yourself with the last example why did she suffer breathing problems? MCDonalds !
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3ied_AD4iE http://vegan.sheknow...010/11/29/1433/ http://www.happycow....egetarians.html Amitabh Bachan is 60+ he is veggeterian. Check out this list as well.. http://en.wikipedia...._of_vegetarians Some Chimpanzees eat maggots eating magots can create many illnesses as well, the thing with any animal is survival if we deprive it of the natural food stock it will switch to alternative food supplies even things which are bad for it. We will find examples such as muslims who can't eat pork are allowed if nothing else is available it is better to survive then die. Meat is not a part of our natural diet as is the case for chimpanzees.
  16. Well you are looking at economy if you go to India it is cheaper to be veggeterian then eat meat, only the rich can afford meat. Why? Because when something sells as with demand it reduces in cost, veg and milk sell more then meat does the high majority are vegetarian. Loads of chinese who are buddhists are veggeterian, we took an army to war fall of meat eaters and lost to the chinese. With any sports it's all about practice and training. In the west most people eat meat so meat is cheap, however in the west we do not face economic problems everyone can afford vegetterian food, alcohol is kind of cheap doesn't mean we avoid juice and drink a can of beer saying sikhi is for everyone.
  17. Could you do a translation of suraj prakash granth at some point or get a hold on digitising one at some point in english This is in punjabi can we get a few people to translate it to english possibly in a book form to sell it - I would buy it http://searchgurbani.com/sri_gur_pratap_suraj_granth
  18. Girl tempted him into being racist. Guess singhs are not going to be his fans anymore.
  19. Try brylcream, or shockwaves, (taft sells in india), hairsprays, frucitis and putty. The only issue is it gets in the way of eating food time and kissing.
  20. You can get turmeric in the form of tablets to take. Another thing that helps with arthritis is various berries which have anti inflammatory properties such as cherries, starwberries, blueberries. Cherry is good, if you can juice, make your own fresh ones. Try eat berries daily with breakfast will help. Green tea helps, make sure you drink plenty of water and eat loads of greens. Stress is a big factor in that, fix sleeping patterns and take out the bits and bobs your doing wrong and you shouldn't be doing stop doing all the regular naughty stuff.
  21. In the animal jungle we have creatures who are meat eaters Carnivore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnivore), eat everything Omnivore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omnivore) and Eat plants Herbivore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbivore) Now when we look at saliva, stomach acid and teeth set of all creatures we can decide which one they fit into. Humans can not eat meat naturally if you put a goat and an apple in front of a todler, the todler will play with the goat probably name it and eat the apple. The teeth set of a human are not strong enough to bite through flesh raw, or saliva that of a tigers or stomach acid to digest it. If humans were to eat animals raw they will catch several diseases and die we have some history of attempts and deaths. Now the cellular structure of plants and animals are different that Herbivores have the capacity to digest plants, however humans were clever to invent food technology we cook the meat of creatures until the cell structures are slightly damaged that we can consume the animal. Even with the human body at certain point such as starvation we end up consuming our own fat and muscle fibres a bit like how we consume other animals. We brought various animals into our food technology plot bread them, and eat them. While we can't eat every animal due to dangers such as some fish so people learnt the poisonous parts cut away eat it. Food technology has helped us but has brought us problems from refining certain things. We learn from the human organs such as the appendix humans once used to eat grass. When we look at the pimate family we find the trend in apes who eat fruits and veg. The problem we are facing today is to do with certain geographical locations which have low sunlight intensity such as the uk which was in an ice age when it melted people migrated, so due to that milk from cows are not strong enough, crops and vegetations are low malnourished. Other places which is too hot were we face deserts we find a lack of crops, so people in desperation turned to poultry. Now today some are debating that the origin of various illnesses is to do with meat consumption which is against some of our function. Even carnivores seek fibre from certain plants themselves tigers have to eat grass for fibre. The problems we are facing with poultry industry is we have resulted in producing diseases such as foot and mouth, mad cow disease, bird flu, swine flu, e-coli we created problems with mercury dumping into fish supplies and effected the food web and food chain. We saw a rise in animal cruelty and other issues to the eco system. Also through meat eating humans wiped out the dodo bird, which we replaced with chickens (Gallus gallus domesticus) which came from China approx 6000BC and we bread. Now some philosophers argue that the unnatural meat eating has caused various problems into the human psychology and abnormal violence which some blame has raised violence. It has been quite difficult for people to consume animals slaughtered before themselves. However so meat eating has been found to be addictive due to various chemicals ingested which have a drug like effect.
  22. That is BS, but the thing is muslims control the wikipedia pages mainly so many upna can't change it they will lock it or change it back give it some years as they become a bigger majority we will spat once in 50 years when we become a non-existent minority.
