  1. what lalleshvari actually said was: it's a matter of terminology. according to lalleshvari, the term sanatan dharam was not used before the 19th century, so he prefers to use puratan sikhi. although i'm sure i heard a quote from sarbloh granth mentioning sanatan dharam... i may be wrong... could anyone clarify? the term dinosaur did not exist before the last millenium... that does not mean dinosaurs did not exist before then! another example is that the term akhand kirtani jatha was not always used... before it was known as bhai randhir singh da jatha. people now choose to use the term akj... but that does not mean that akj did not exist before the conception of the name.
  2. would that be if they were leaving sikhi? or any religion? do u feel it would be your duty to make sure someone wanting to convert to sikhism understood their own religion fully?

  4. i'm confused... are u saying that only punjabis have a sense of honour and dignity? just say it straight!! if u think someone's "trying to create trouble and disunity" at least have the balls to say who it is. & don't try & be high & mighty saying that would be slander... slander is when u say something that is false. if u have any conviction in what u claim people are doing at least act like a man & say it! stop acting like a fussar. who are these "non-Punjabis" u are referring to? Mod's Note: Edited- Please control your temper. Take it over the pm! Just an freindly warning for now

  8. i'm assuming then that u disagree with the sources provided by narsingha. could u please refute them with relevant evidence/sources. off topic. please take it up on the vegetarianism thread... which reminds me... mods? what's happening with the veggy thread?
  9. beast, everyone has a right to have their own opinion. sikh princess, have u heard the cd? do u agree with the lyrics of the track by malkeet singh? same question was brought up on this thread: http://sikhawareness.com/sikhawareness/vie...t=4641&start=30 i disagree. why should santa singh have to clarify his position? if someone wishes to know what he did & why, it is their responsibility to ask him.

  16. on another thread, jtsingh & narsingha stated that namdharis & nihangs are against the killing of cows. narsingha also provided the following sources as evidence of that: why is it that the cow is held in such high esteem? & is the same view held by all the other sampardavas?
  17. very very true kamalroop. beautiful post. just one question on what u said here. is that from 'man jeetay jag jeet'? because i had always been told that 'jag' referred to jagat.

  22. my view is that the path to akaal is through unconditional love, whether someone finds that through sikhi, islam, another religion or no religion. i guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this issue.
