Mool mantar is an explanation of Waheguru. Jap Ji Sahib is an explanation of Mool Mantar. They all go hand in hand. Complete 180 Malas (Rosary Mala of 108 beads) of Mool Mantra (from Ekonkar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Such) in a month; do six malas daily. Complete 80 Malas daily of Gur Mantar 'Waheguru'; 20 Malas of Waheguru if the Nam is recited four times on each bead. Pick one and stick to it for a minimum of 12 years. When I first started about 20 years ago , I started doing waheguru malas then I gave that up and was doing moolmantar. these days I am trying to stick to Gurmantra. Also my rehit was lacking thats why I have not reached anywhere.
