Jaipur, Rajasthan: A 10th standard Sikh student protested when girls from his class were being were being harassed by some guys. As a result those guys forcibly cut his kesh. The Sikh student's father, who is an employee of doordarshan, and mother were saying that it would have been better had their son died instead of this. The police is doing nothing to arrest the culprits. Not only this the police is not even registering FIR. This whole incident of beating, tearing up of clothes of the Sikh student and then cutting his hair was done in front of the school principal Gupta and the school administration. The culprits said that this was just the trailor of a film. Not only this the police also threatened the family. Take a look at the pictures for yourself.

On the positive, as the pictures display the local Sikhs have been active in demanding justice and acknowlegdement of this event - may Maharaj bless them with strength during this time to deal with the internal strife and willpower to continue with their efforts to have this matter resolved.

Sikhs in Rajasthan are mostly migrants from west Punjab. They are very dominating in all fields and hold good economic stability. Sikhs in Ganganagar are mostly migrants from East Punjab but others areas have Sikh migrants originally migrated from Rawalpindi, Haripur Hazara, Abbotabad, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura and layallpur area.

They are very strict Sikhism follower. Jaipur has good Sikh population and they have built huge Gurudwara Sahib over there. These guys who attacked this young Sikh are from "Meena" community (They claim to be from Rajputs) which is known thieves & dacoits of Rajasthan. They're always on fights with other communities and stealing, looting is their main occupation. One guy (From meena community) who used to molest Sikh girls in Alwar area was killed on the road by Sikhs and two Sikhs are still in prison for that case. It happened in Bilaspur village of Alwar district in Rajasthan. Gyani Sant Singh Maskeen ji was also from Rajasthan originally migrants from Pakistan.

I’ve relatives in Rajasthan so know how things work over there. I don’t think Sikhs in Rajasthan will stop until these guys are push behind bars or killed. I know Sikhs attitude personally and most probably it may end up being a brick for brick scenario.

protests have spread in Kanpur,Delhi,Jallandher,Chandigarh,Jammu etc.

In Punajb and Jammu,Shiv Sena has openly supported Sikhs. In Kanpur main protestors are from Rashtriya Sikh Sangat. In Jaipur most of the Hindus and Arya Samajis have givne full support to us.

Even Doordarshan Kendra emplyees union has openly condemed the incidence on air.

Then coming to Meena people.Meenas are not rajputs but claim to be jaat and are schedule tribe. They were native of jaipur Area and further south till Abu.They were later overuun by Harha or Khushvaha Rajputs.

Till Rajput era they were subdued but due to thier numbers,in some part they form as vote banck so they do buly other comunties.Fact is that they do not know much about sentimets of Sikh communtiy.Sometimes before in India, when das wanted to go for an exam in UPSC,they forced das to remove Kirpan(as per law of India Kirpan with less then 2.5' blade is alowed in pplanes. So das went to civil siupervisior, who snubbed this Mina person of CISF,anbd das was allowed in.

More than hurting religeous sentiments it appears that they have acted as an act of stupidity without knwoing the concequences.

Over here we need to understand that it is still possible that police of BJP govt. still may try to save them as in past ,when they attacked the Sikh boy or did eve teasing Police reamin callus and even after incidenace local SHO was unawe of the importance of Kes in us.

What may happen is that they may get intrim bail and get surenedered in court.Though police has now booked them in bigger acts but still if they are non bailable or not is yet to be seen.

Das last night saw DR Kiran Bedi saying thAT,Weather they will be convicted or not poilce will keep them calling each week in court or police station. As per Dr Bedi boy is a real hero and should be venerated for act of courage to not to get afraid of goons.Anyway SP Bansal of Jaipur said that he has noted what Dr bedi Said.

In Rajasthan Police encougres fast track court and police wants gulity to get punished as soon as possible. In past 10 months this uis second attack on Sikhs. As in past at Moosagarh of Alwar about 5 to 9 Siokhs were kiled by Meo Muslims but, they werre put behind the bar,And then Muslims at large supproted Sikhs.

But in this case it seems that police is buying time.Anyway in Rajsthan we have local Blacksmiths or nomad Sikhs also, who are in rural Area

to be contnued..

As it happens in north India that in places,we see Gujar, jaats,Aheer or as here Meenas keep on bullying other comun ties due to plotiical backing.

Sikhs are indoctrined to fight injustice so such things are bound to happen. This boy should have carreid Kirpan and should have knwon how to use it.When we are Sirdar and take intiative as leader,we need to have back up to let us protect our status.Das does not feel that this guy has such things or traing with him.Had he had then things would have been differnt.

Das is anyway happy to see media more of electroinic media coming in support of Sikhs and Hindus also supporting them.Das understtod from a Hindu person's mid that such sithouation is similar to some Hindu been forced to eat beef by non Hindu in his own country and govt. does not do any thing,.In such cases it may occur that people may take law in thier Hands.

In 2001 perhaps, there was a simlar case in Delhi when Mr Khera of Malviay Nagar with his son, forcable cut the hairs of thier employee who was Sikh on his demading due wages.

Then in Delhi polce was quick enough to arreest them(rather they were more keen to get arrested,to evade the wraght of Sikhs). Then in Patayal house they were fined for about 500 Rs as an act to hurt the religeous sentiment.Father and son were kept in jail and were fined.so some confidance was there in law.

While over here eve teasing, kidnapping, attempt to murder ana other acts are there on the boys.Yet result is not forth coming.

at last das can say that had boy been murdered, then it would not have bene big issue but cutting Kes is somthing bad. Some fo the readers could be from outside India. If Rajsthan Govt, who could not save 5 of thier civielains and one Army Jawan in recent flood at Falan after not sense acts for 12 hours and that also onscreen, could not bring culprit to book,it is OK to go to give memeorandam to Indian High commsion or embassy or other world oraganistaion about callous ness of BJP Govt.Where vote bank is above justice.so let the world know.

Sikhs in Rajasthan are very much away from politics like in Punjab we see. They will stand for injustice not just for Sikhs but for all communities. I've personally seen Sikhs protecting Hindu Mandirs in Rajasthan from MEO Muslims. Meo Muslims had to settle down with written letter that they will never come near the Mandir. This incident is not Hindus verses Sikhs but more of a Meena community which is basically thieve/dacoits of Rajasthan verses Sikhs. They should be taught lesson aggressively.

Dear Admin,

Thanks for the good link.Anyway there was one more reason for the defeats of Meenas by rajputs.

Meenas are farmer at large and claim to be jaat(but other jaats stay away from them in Rajasthan say in Braj and northward from Sekar to Nohar.

They had thier defeat more due to thier fight with Gujar Patels. In Rajistthani folklore figth of Patel Gujars and thier sacrfise by cunning Jaat Meenas is still sung.

Sikh boy's forced haircut leads to Lok Sabha adjournment

Thursday August 24 2006 11:53 IST

IANS

NEW DELHI: The humiliation of a Sikh schoolboy in Rajasthan whose hair was forcibly cut was the focus of Congress protests in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, leading to the House being adjourned abruptly for 15 minutes.

There was pandemonium as soon as the Lok Sabha met. Congress MPs led by party chief whip Madhusudan Mistry got up from their seats saying that minorities were not safe in BJP-governed states.

Although Speaker Somnath Chatterjee asked them to go back to their seats and raise the issue at 12 noon, the members refused and the House was adjourned.

No senior BJP leader except V K Malhotra was present at the time. Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the House Pranab Mukherjee were, however, in the House.

The incident had taken place in Jaipur on Monday when Class 12 student Indrapreet Singh was abducted on his way to school, beaten and his hair cut apparently because he stood up for a girl who was being stalked. The issue has been snowballing with demonstrations in Rajasthan, Delhi and Punjab.

Arjun Meena, the main accused has been arrested in Delhi and taken to Jaipur.Perhaps he avoided rural Rajesthan as Sikh presensce is there.

Some Hindu inlcuding Mother of Das wanted say cut his nose or blackened the face or caster the accused.Das thinks that such things are savage.

Anyway weather Court convicts him or not ploice undwer the reforming acts, will make him visit the court or polic station eachn weak and let him give account of whole weak conduct. It is better than Tarhrpar where person is sent out of towen.

It all did not take communall colour as this boy was punished for protecting Hindu Girl.It will be tried to take video recording of her statement, which wil l avoid her gettng hostile witness perhaps if at all in future. As it is mentioned whole Parliament was united to oppse such act and centre and state both cooprated.

I wonder if the parliament opposed the massacre of sikhs in 84 in the same fashion as this incident. To me, it just seem like they made a lot of political hoopla and gather sikh support for votes. How can a Hindu politician feel the pain of losing kesh when he himself doesnot have kesh. Just my thoughts.

Startstop,

How do you feel the pain when you see martyrs? Of course you are not getting shaheedi? I think our logic is not right here. This may be political stance in parliament but still they supported Sikhs.
