tSingh Posted July 11, 2007 Report Share Posted July 11, 2007 no, in this context sankalap does not mean thoughts, it means resolve and vikalap is the oposite, doubt. These are the two functions of the man element of the mind (i.e. chit, budhi, man and hankar). Only budhi affirms things with conviction (nischey). Where does the doubt fit in? Is it doubt as to what the senses are saying? Doubt in what to tell the karmindriya to do?
