  1. What is devotion, how is it done, and who does true devotion? To these questions of almost all spiritual seekers, Dhan Dhan Satguru Sachay Patshah, Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj , reveals us the Truth, in the following couple lines in Raag Gond: ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਇ Kar Kirapaa Jaa Ko Math Dhaee करि किरपा जा कउ मति देइ One whom the Lord blesses with understanding, ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ਲੇਇ Aath Pehar Prabh Kaa Naao Laee आठ पहर प्रभ का नाउ लेइ Chants the Name of God, twenty-four hours a day. Points to take in account from these pure paviter words of Fifth Patshahee: 1) He is the one, who gives us the right understanding, faith and conviction as His blessings for performing the right devotion, which is mentioned in the following line 2) That wadbhagee jeev who gets His blessings, thus, leaves aside all other practices, and does the devotion which pleases Him the most, which is none other than, doing His Simran 24 hours a day. Now we may ask, how can we do Naam Simran 24 hours a day? We have to do our worldy duties, towards our work, our relatives, families ..... Well as we know also from the Bani, it means doing this sadhana, this bhakti, daily on a regular basis, but also implies, that we may do it saas grass, means the rest of the time, with each breath we take, with each morsel of food we intake... Then only, can we become pure just as He is; that also not by our efforts, but by His grace. This is Gurmat. Rest is all "manmat" Sat Sree Akal. Waheguru.
  2. Veer Jee, sorry to contradict you. But the thing is, we can come to an conclusion, because the Bani is there to guide us, and make our resolutions firm, in order to reach that Highest Truth. Is not a conclusion that Wahiguru is Ik? And not multiplicity like in other dharamas. Is it not a conclusion, He is the only Truth? Because in other dharmas, they place their faith in variety. Is it not a conclusion we as souls are His particles, in essence? Many believe they are the body, and even after death there are different nationalities and dharmic alike to be found in the spiritual planes. Is it not a conclusion, that He is Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient? Many do not believe in God, many more believe ther are genders and there are many gods with different powers... So you see, the list of conclusion can be a long one, but yet they are sound conclusions definitively . If we want to achieve something, we have to draw a line somewhere, we can not have nonsense and sense at the same time. So in order to sort out our misconceptions, and reach conclusions, it would better if we guide ourselves with the gyan of Gurmat. And regarding the statement that, the way will be teached inside; don´t you think or agree that, the way is taught and described outside, inwards, we have only to apply ourselves to what we have learnt outside, and just walk through it inside, and that way is none other than devotion for the Lotus Feet of Wahiguru. Outside is only learning, inside is, only realizing that learnt outside. Outside is learning, inside is the homework. Waheguru.

  4. One Fine Morning, The King Was Going For Walk With His Ministers. On His Way He Saw A Young Boy Playing In The Mud. The King Ordered His Soldiers To Bring That Boy To Him. The Soldiers Followed The Orders And Escorted That Boy To The King. The King Asked The Boy .. KING : Why Are You Playing In The Mud, You Seem To Be Educated, Then Why Are You Spoiling Your Clothes. The Boy Smiled And Said, BOY : Your Majesty, I'm Playing In The Mud Because I'm Made Up Of This Mud And After I Die, I’ll Again Turn Into This Mud. The King Was Amazed And Surprised With The Young Boy’s Answer. The Minister Went To The King And Wispered In His Ear.. “Your Majesty, I Think This Boy Is Very Intelligent And Learned, Why Not Make Him Our Advisor, Since We Need One. The king Was Convinced By His Ministers Words And Thought This Boy Would Be The Perfect Advisor For Him. The king Asked The Boy, KING : Will You Became My Chief Advisor ? I’ll Give You A Lot Of Money, Power And Everything You Want. The Boy Just Smiled At The King’s Comment, And Said Politely... BOY : Your Majesty, I’ll Love To Be Your Advisor , Your Servant But, I Have 4 Wishes , If You Fulfill Those 4 Wishes Then I’ll Definitely Be Your Advisor. The King Agreed Without Thinking And Asked The Boy To Name His Wishes. The Boy Started With His First Wish.. Boy : Your Majesty My First Condition Is That “Whatever Dish I Want To Eat, You’ll Provide Me, But You Will Not Eat It Yourself”. Boy Then Said .. My Second Condition Is “You Will Give Me All Expensive Clothes To Wear But You Will Not Wear Them Yourself” Boy Continued... My Third Condition Is “When Ever We Go For A Walk I’ll Not Follow You But We Should Walk Together” The Boy Then Presented His Last Condition.. “Whenever I Sleep You Will Look After Me, But I Will Not Look After You” After Hearing All The Condition The King Was Surprised, KING : What Nonsense Is This..I'm The King, I Can Give You All The Delicious Dishes You Wish To Eat But I Will Also Eat Them, I Can Give You All The Expensive Clothes But I’ll Also Wear Them, I'm The King So Whenever We Go For A Walk You Should Follow Me, Why Should I Walk With You ...And Whenever I Sleep You Should Look After Me Why Should I. The Boy Smiled At That And Said ... BOY : Sorry Your Majesty You Cannot Fulfill My 4 Wishes How Can I Became Your Servant And You Cannot Be My Master.. My SATGURU, My TRUE MASTER Can Only Be My BOSS. He Gives Me Everything I Want To Eat.. But He Himself Doesn’t Ask For Them. He Gives Me All The Clothes I Want To Wear But He Doesn’t Want Them Back. Whenever I Go He Is Always With Me, Looking After Me And... Whenever I Seep He Always Take Care of Me, But He Never Asks The Same From Me In Return. So This Way Only HE And He Alone Can Be My BOSS And My Master. After Hearing The Boy’s Words, The King Fell At The Boy's Feet And Said, Please Become My Advisor And Teach Me How To Live A Good Life... I Now Realise The Wise Saying.." That Child Is The Father Of Man"
  5. Veer Jee, thanks for your post, but I have to tell you, that for your kind information, I am not a Penjee, I am your PaaJee. With all respect to womanhood and women, I am deeply grateful to Waheguru for making me as I am, as a man, with all that it implies Sat Sree Akal
  6. Wahiguru Akal Purukh is our True Father, so we are His children. Maybe at a worldly level, if we are going to meet a big personality, like a king, a prime minister, or someone alike, we may need a protocol or ceremony with the aid or intervention of some others. But, to meet our True Father Wahiguru Akal Purukh, we need nothing of that sort, we only need purity in mind, a sense of helplesness(self surrender or humility), and an intense longing to meet Him and have His Darshan, that is it all. The rest is arranged by Him. Sat Sree Akal.
Without the True Name, no one can become pure; O Nanak, this is the Unspoken Speech. ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਾਚੈ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਏ Than Man Niramal Niramal Baanee Saachai Rehai Samaaeae तनु मनु निरमलु निरमल बाणी साचै रहै समाए His body and mind become immaculate, through the Immaculate Bani of the Word. He remains absorbed in Truth. In these above lines of First Patshahee Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj, He clears some of our brahams or misconceptions of the spiritual reality : Firstly,He says that, if we believe we are sinners, we are not pure, we are not worthy, then practice the devotion of Naam bhakti, as soon as possible, because without this bhakti no one can become pure. Then in the second line He confirms us, that, by doing this type of bhakti, one´s body, and mind, both become immaculate, then one is attuned to the Anhad Bani or Shabad within, this is also drinking the inner Amrit, which one reaches by doing Naam Simran alone, this Amrit is made by Wahiguru Himself, rather we can say, this Amrit is Wahiguru Himself, who cleanses us, who purifies us, with His Shabad form, from all our sins and sanskaras, as well as all the vikaars, then naturally we become pure paviter, and again by this Amrit we merge in Him, but if seen with attention to this whole process of our purification and union with Him, it started with the simple jugtee of Naam Simran. Truly Naam Simran is the panacea for everything. Waheguru.
  8. Veer Jee, at least I am not offended at all from your posts. From your regular writings, I somehow perceive you are a good person at heart, you have no malice, the only thing is, you have a different opinion, and that is quite understandable, and natural also That is it. Now if I am allowed, I am going to quote from your last post.

  10. God..How Should I Pray Your Way Please Teach Me, Lord ... I Want To Know Exactly How To Pray. I Need Some Words Which Ones Are Right? Please Tell Me What To Say. I've Bowed My Head I Have Knelt Down, But ...Should I Be Upright? I've Closed My Eyes, I've Bowed My Head< I've Raised My Hands, Or ...Should I Fold Them Tight? Do I Stand Up? Should I Sit Down? Dear Lord ... What Do You Like? Are Lights Turned On Or Are They Off? Maybe ...Candle Light? Wear My Glasses? Take Them Off? Be At My Desk Or Table? Should I Whisper? Speak Out Loud? Do I Quote The Bible? What Do You Think About The Time? Do You Prefer The Dawn? Should I Pray Fast, Or Keep It Slow? Better Short ... Or Long? I'm New At This What Are The Rules? I Want To Do It Right. How Do I Know You'll Even Hear That I'm In Your Sight? And While I Sat There Quietly Waiting For Some Sign, I Heard A Gentle Voice Say, "Oh, Dearest Child Of Mine ... Do You Think I Really Care About The Time Of Day, Or Whether You Are Standing Up, Or Kneeling When You Pray?" "I Don't Care About Your Posture, Or About The Place You Choose; Just Open Up Your Soul To Me, I Have No Other Rules. Tell Me What Is In Your Heart, And Tell Me What You Seek; Tell Me Of Your Sorrows, And Of Those Things That Made You Weak." "Speak To Me In Private About What Concerns You Most My Child, You Don't Need Lessons, Just Talk To Me Each Day; Tell Me Anything You Want, Dear Child, Anyone Can Pray."
  11. We must keep in mind all times, that, before we were born, all our destiny was made, out of the storehouse of our very own karmas .... In that way, we can not do anything, because so is written by us, by our own karmas, nobody is to be blamed for our shortcomings or misfortunes, miseries..... The justice of the law of karmas, does not work according to our opinions or way of thinking, there is surely some goodness, some sort of evolution out of our sight ..... Karmas can not be changed, neither wiped away just like that ....otherwise what was the purpose of undergoing them. But our kind Guru Sahibans, out of their tenderness and mercy upon us, do tell us, that all these miseries are due to the body, so if ever we want to make ourselves strong and fearless, to face bravely our karmas, the only thing we can do, is to associate oureselves with the One Fearless, all bliss and all Wisdom, which is none other that Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Rather would say that by practicing that jugtee, He comes and abides within us..... And that jugtee is none other, than His Naam Simran. By doing this devotion, we elevate our soul consciousness to the higher levels of purity, and bathe there in Amrit Sar, within ourselves, thus by His Grace, we somehow mitigate the effects of our filthy karmas to an extent... Sat Sree Akal, may God bless you.
  12. Respected Veer Singh123456777, first of all apologizes, if you are hurt by my post. Secondly, whatever I state, is not of my own but from the pure paviter Bani of our Guru Sahibans. For me Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj was the manifested swaroop of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, and as such, He is beyond my mind and intellect. You are totally free to disagree with me, but whether you believe it or not, I can never ever go against sikhee, which is my very life, the reason of my existence. When we talk about Gurmat, why only mention one Guru, and not keep in mind also, the rest of our Guru Sahibans. The words of Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj, are as important, as well as of the rest of the Guru Sahibans. If I state anything out of the Bani, please let me know. If I wrote : amrit sabad, amrit har banee. The Shabad is Amrit; the Lord's Bani is Amrit. It is because, these words, are of Guru Amar Das Maharaj, and He clearly states, the Shabad or Nam is the Amrit. The thing is, we are talking of 2 different exsiting Amrits. You are mentioning the rite of amrit sanskar, and I am talking about the Amrit which our Guru Sahibans talk about and say it is Shabad itself, and this one is found within us, by the jugtee of Nam Abhyaas. This Shabad, is not written in any language, thus it can not be read. This Amrit Shabad is to be heard by the soul, for that one needs purity of mind. The Bani also says, even if one is ignorant as a donkey, you do nothing else but you do Nam Simran, one comes to know of everything, including Him. That is why also first Patshahee, says in Jap Ji Sahib: Suniai sidh pir sur nath suniai dharat dhaval akas suniai dip loa patal suniai poh(i) na sakei kaal Mortal becomes a perfect saint, a religious guide, a spiritual leader, and a great yogi, by heraing the Naam Reality of the earth and the bull supporting it and of heaven becomes known by hearing the Naam Knlwledge of the world, continents and nether regions is gained by the mortal by hearing the Naam Death can not touch and come near the mortal by hearing the Naam. So brother Singh Jee, we can see all wadiayee, all mahima is due to Naam or Shabad. And to obtain all that goodness from it, only we need to be touch with it, and that is by His Simran alone. Sat Sree Akal.

  14. CHARACTER Body is visible in the mirror. But character is visble in actions.
  15. MIND..! A Negative Thought Came To My Mind. He Wore A Charming Smile And I Was Sorely Tempted To Invite Him In Awhile. And As I Hesitated, He Tapped Softly On The Door And Whispered Through The Keyhole As He'd Often Done Before. He Said, "I'll Help You Hold Your Grudge, I'll Help You Sing The Blues, It Seems Like All Your Folks And Friends Have Turned Their Backs On You." He Said, "You've Been Misunderstood, Mistreated And Maligned. I'll Help You Cry Your Heart Out If You'll Let Me Come Inside" But, I Kept My Windows Fastened And My Doors Securely Closed, For I Knew I'd Be The Loser If I Let Him Take Control For Negative Thoughts Can Multiply And Crowd The Positives Out And Make The Mind A Cesspool Of Anxiety And Doubt. And So I Told The Negative Thought I Could Not Let Him In. He Went His Way, But I'am Sure That He'll Return Again. But No More Will I Greet Him With A Welcome Or A Smile And Never Will I Entertain Him Even For Awhile. I'll Fill My Mind With Positive Thoughts And On The Door Install A Sign Which Reads, "DO NOT DISTURB" When Negative Comes To Call For Tho' He Knocks A Thousand Times And Yet, A Thousand More He Cannot Dominate My Mind If I Don't Open The Door.
  16. The Amrit of which our Guru Sahibans , Gurmukhs and bhagats talk about, is the one which takes us out from the planes of mortality, to the realm of immortality. As seen in the post above, Guru Sahiban is telling us, that, that Amrit is none other than the Shabad itself. This Amrit is not to be drunk like we prepare here with water and other elements. Different dharams have their way of preparing it. But the true Amrit, which makes us immortal, by removing all our impurities and bandhans of karmas, sanskaras, freedom from the 5 vikars, mind and maya, is, Wahiguru´s Name or Naam. The outer amrits are just rituals and symbols, while the inner one is the Truth itself. The outer one is had through the mouth, gives us some taste, goes into the intestinal system and is flushed out, that is it at most. Some people think that by bathing in sacred waters, their sins are washed away. That is also manmat. We must bear in mind, that anything made out of the 5 perisahble and insentient elements of the creation, can not be anything than perishable as its origin. Our human body is made out of the combination of all the 5 elemnts together, and if that very body perishes, which is not man made, but created by Nature and puffed with spirit which gives it life, how can we ever think, that the amrit made by us, will make us pure and permanent? It maybe a ritual, a custom widely followed by the majority, but, let us see carefully the words of the Bani of our Guru Sahibans, and see and compare if the Amrit which they refer, is the same as we tend to think or take.... They say, the Amrit is Shabad. And as Dhan Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj tells us in Raag Prabhaatee: oopar koop gagan panihaaree amrith peevanehaaraa The Well is high up in the Tenth Gate; the Ambrosial Nectar flows, and I drink it . He clearly points us where is that Amrit to be found. He says, the well from where it flows , is right up within us, in the Tenth Gate, and I drink it. Now, to have this Amrit from that inner and upper well, we have to reach there, not otherwise. What have we got to do, to reach there? There are no outer vehicles or stairs to reach. There is only one stair, only one path without second, and that is His Simran, which elevates us to that Tenth gate to enter within, and then once inside, one gets that Amrit. And this Amrit is not to be had by the mouth, but by the mind and soul. If had being a wadbhagee, it weakens the mind to the extent that, that very dusht mind is subdued totally, and the soul is empowered and regains its true essence and awareness, thus is freed and again with the aid of Nam / Shabad, reaches back to its Nijh Ghar Sach Khand. And as this Amrit is Shabad, this means, it is had by having the Darshan of the Jot emanating from it, and is to be listened by the mind and soul, to the Dhun or the Sound Current, as main manifestations. Shabad is Sound Current, and so, it has to be listened, ultimately by the Soul. And this has to be done by each one of us. It is not like for example, like the hindus go to the river Ganges, and some family members or friends tell them to bring a couple of bottles filled with that water ...... No, no, no ..... it is not anything as such. The river Ganges maybe one only for all people. But the well from which True Amrit flows, Wahiguru gracefully and wisely has kept it within each one of us, for us to drink it to our full brim. The veechar in this post is not done to hurt anyone´s feelings or emotions, but is done with the sole purpose, to bring awareness within us, and justice to the teachings of our Guru Sahibans. We people do things in our perspectives and limited knowledge, but Wahiguru does things in the best possible way, full of grace, full of mercy and full of uncondtional love. That is why, if things are done in His way, they work, otherwise we humans are shameless and corrupted crooks. So please forgive me, if anybody is hurt. We must bear in mind, we are not important. It is only Wahiguru, and His Nam, which is important, and the Truth He shared with us, through the teachings of the Gurmukhs, Bhagat Jans, and Guru Sahibans in the Bani. And this Truth, is nothing else, but Shabad and only Shabad, everything else is "koor". Sat Sree Akal.
  17. As per the title of this thread "Purpose of Amrit", das would like to share some bachans of Dhan Dhan Guru Amar Das Maharaj, in Raag Maajh : amrit naam man vasaa-ay, ha-umai mayraa sabh dukh gavaa-ay. Enshrining the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, in the mind, all the pains of egotism, selfishness and conceit are eliminated. In the very first begining, He tells us that: Nam Simran is a type of Amrit, which if enshrined in the mind, means to reach a stage by saas saas Simran, in which, the Simran goes rom rom within us, and the result is, that, our mind gets purified to an extent, thus we experiment a change in our behaviour. Our haume, me, mine, ego, greed, selfishness, desires, 5 vikars, are substituted by the followwing virtues: humility, patience, forbearance, forgiveness, detachment / vairag, and above all devotion for His Lotus Feet. All our pains and sins are due to our misbehaviour as beasts, rather than as godly human beings. So here, Guru Jee is telling us that by drinking the Amrit of Nam Simran, we loose our chains with the perishable world, and tighten our relation, dhoree, with Wahiguru This is the first step in ruhaniyat or parmarath. Then He tells us : amrit banee sadaa salaahay amrit amrit paavni-aa. By continually praising the Ambrosial Bani of the Word, I obtain the Amrit, the Ambrosial Nectar. Here He is telling us, that, by continuos praising the Ambrosial Bani of the Word, which means, continous, incessant parctice of Nam Simran, means, we have done the jugtee of Nam simran with such faith, love and devotion, that our mind is subdued, the deewar, the curtain between us and Wahiguru, has been torn off, and so, I obtain the Amrit, the Ambrosial Nectar. Now, we may ask, If Nam Simran is a type of Amrit as said above, which Amrit is now referring to, Dhan Guru Amar Das, which is produced by Nam Simran? Well, to this question, once again He himself gives us the answer in the following line: amrit sabad, amrit har banee. The Shabad is Amrit; the Lord's Bani is Amrit. Here, He tells us that, the Shabad, the Sound current is the Amrit. By His utter Grace, Guru Jee is telling us, how to produce or get the real Amrit. First of all, He said, doing Nam Simran is a type of Amrit, but the real Amrit is the Shabad, and if Amrit is Shabad, is the celestial Bani resounding within us nonstop, means that, Nam Simran, purifies us that much, that we start to listen the Shabad Dhun. Listening to this Shabad Dun within us, is according to our Guru Sahibans, the drinking of the real Amrit within us. By listening to this Shabad, or drinking the Amrit, our sins, or karmas are all wiped away. Sachay Patshah Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj, reffering to it, says in Japji Sahib: Suniye, paap dukh ka naas. Listen to it and all your pains and sins shall be destryed, means come to an end, thus no more cycle of births and deaths. The same is said by Guru Amar Das below. amrit banee si-o chit laa-ay amrit sabad vajaavani-aa. Those who focus their consciousness on the Ambrosial Bani of the Word(Nam Simran), hear the vibrations of the Ambrosial Word of the Shabad. Now, after this short veechar, we have seen how is this Amrit produced ,and where to look for it, but still one may ask: who can have this Amrit ? For that our question, Guru Jee clears our horizons: one can not get it by copying others, neither by any of our tricks, nor by force, but, only by His Daya meher, His Grace, by His Mauj. tayray bhaanay vich amrit vasai toon bhaanai, amrit pee-aavni-aa. In Your Sweet Will, the Amrit is found; by Your Will, You inspire us to drink in this Amrit. This means, we may put any amount of errforts, but only those whom He wants to call back to Him, do this type of Gurbhakti, devotion according to the Bani, the rest will wander in the chaurasee, with their manmat. Nevertheless for the mean time, we may read the Bani and follow it implicitly, remain in Sadh Sangat, do seva with mind, body and with our surtee, try to defeat the mind and throw away all our bad vices and replace them with godly virtues, thus make us fit in His eyes, that He may shower upon us His Daya Meher, and make us worthy to do the right devotion as per the Bani, and be such wadbhagees, that one day we may also drink His Amrit, by His will ( hukmay amrit pee-aavni-aa).. Sat Sree Akal. May God bless all.
  18. Simran or repetition of Wahiguru, is done by the mind or with attention, at different levels of energy or consciousness. As said previously, it is solely done, to be able to concentrate our attention and enter the finer realms and get certain purification also. And that´s it. It can not take one farther, as it is done within the gross or mental planes. Because it is the mind which needs to get purified. The body as we know, is insentient or inert, so it does not get anything to do with it, only as much as only to cooperate with the mind in the right and a relaxed manner, so it can stay without moving as long as possible. The soul does not do the repetition nor simran. The soul is pure by nature, it is same as in essence as Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Other thing is, that, it is covered with dirt and filth by the different subtle layers due to the collection of it, since aeons, since it left it´s Father´s House( Sach Khand) and came in association and influence of mind and maya ....to the extent, that the soul has forgotten it´s true nature, so it does nothing to regain it´s True self, and merge in Wahiguru Akal Purukh. And so, this cleaning is done at two levels. Firstly at the lower or mental level, the mind gets purified with the simran, then secondly, ath e higher level in the causal plane, which is storehouse of all our karmas and these can be only wiped, with the Amrit or Shabad Dhun at that level. And the consequence of this cleaning and purification, allows us to cross and reach Parbraham, and from there on, by mounting the vehicle of Nam or Shabad, the soul reaches the True region, Sach Khand, which is beyond any dissolutions)Parlay) and grand dissolutions(maha parlay). Once reaching there, the soul in the vehicle of Nam, gets the Darshan of Sat Purukh or Satnam, and becomes one, by the Grace and Mercy of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, by getting dissolved in that Sat Shabad. So, we must always keep in mind, Wahiguru is a Nirankar Conscious Energy(Shabad). So we too, if it is His Hukum, we shall blend in Him, just as He is. We should not think, that by reaching there in Sach Khand, we shall see our Guru Sahibans or the different Bhagats or Gurmukhs.... No. The Bani says, Sach Khand vaseh Nirankar. This means, only He is there. This Conscious Energy or Shabad, when descended at the lower planes, assumed the human form to let us know about Him, and when our Guru Sahibans left this plane, again they merged back into that Satnam Samundar, becoming one. Let us say, if a drop of water falls into an ocean, can we trace it? No, isn´t it? The drop was a drop, as long as it was in a container. Once it falls or gets into the ocean, it no longer is a drop, which was an illusion of form, size and colour, due to its separation from it´s Origin and being in a container ( different bodies : physical, astral or causal ) So if we go to see, in the end, in this process of our union with Him, it is nothing to our credit, but it is only the mahima of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, Nam, Shabad, Anhad Bani, or Sound Current .... And for that very reason, we should never ever underestimate any sound we may hear in the begining. Our purification and the ability to catch hold of the purer sounds goes hand by hand. The more our purity, the finer(subtler) the sound we listen to, at that stage. Sat Sree Akal. May God bless all.
  19. As Lucky Jee said, one should start with the Simran/jap. But one should keep in mind that the simran is needed for concentration and focusing one´s dispersed attention. One may ask, o.k, but concentration for what? Well, for the only purpose to concentrate that much sufficient , as to perceive the inner reality, and Nam or Shabad. Throughout the teachings, we know that Wahiguru, is in reality nothing, but Shabad. And as such infinite conscious energy, which has Jot as refulgence and blissful sound, as its manifestations in those spiritual realms, especially more as such, in Sach Khand. So repetition of Gurmanter or Nam Simran, has a purpose to fulfill also. It is like a rubber ring we put to a child, to learn to be in the water, and be an aid to learn swimming. Once the child learns swimming and has become familiar with the water with continuos practice, it does not need the rubber ring anymore. The child jumps directly into the water (swimming pool / beach) and starts swimming in a natural manner. All our preparations in Simran or meditation, are also for preparing and purifying ourselves, in order to catch hold of that Sound which is constantly reverbating within, and to ultimately go with it by mounting on it, and in the end, to merge into it. So instead to ignore the sounds you hear, rather be thankful to the Lord Wahiguru, for blessing you to listen His voice (sound/s). May God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  20. All the Bachans above in the posts from the Bani are utmost beautifull and truly inspiring; so if allowed, I am also sharing one such Shabad with all of you. You may try to find it on the net to listen it. This Shabad I have heard in the melodious voice of Bhai Amarjeet Singh Patiala Wale, it is a heart touching...well I am not going to say anything more, but leave you with the wordings, and hoping you pay an ear to this particular keertanee mentioned above: Har charan kamal kee ttaek sathigur dhithee thus kai bal raam jeeo The True Guru was satisfied with me, and blessed me with the Support of the Lord's Lotus Feet. I am a sacrifice to the Lord. Har a(n)mrith bharae bha(n)ddaar sabh kishh hai ghar this kai bal raam jeeo The Lord's Ambrosial Nectar is an overflowing treasure; everything is in His Home. I am a sacrifice to the Lord. baabul maeraa vadd samarathhaa karan kaaran prabh haaraa My Father is absolutely all-powerful. God is the Doer, the Cause of causes. jis simarath dhukh koee n laagai bhoujal paar outhaaraa Remembering Him in meditation, pain does not touch me; thus I cross over the terrifying world-ocean. aadh jugaadh bhagathan kaa raakhaa ousathath kar kar jeevaa In the beginning, and throughout the ages, He is the Protector of His devotees. Praising Him continually, I live. Naanak Naam mehaa ras meet(h)aa anadhin man than peevaa O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the sweetest and most sublime essence. Night and day, I drink it in with my mind and body We can say, in just these few lines, Guru Jee summarizes, the whole essence of Gurmat Waheguru .
  21. Love for the Lord Our love for the Lord requires constant feeding. Like fire is apt to die without fuel. Bhajan bandagee/abhyaas/ meditation, is the fuel that sustains this fire. So we should never ever miss this our spiritual practice of Naam Simran, one day´s negligence, retards the progress of the journey by one month. Waheguru.
  22. Following is a awesome and a inspiring comment of a sevak of Akal Purukh on the need to stay as much as possible in one posture during spiritual practices: At the slightest discomfort caused by maintenance of the posture and withdrawl of the soul current, the mind urges the practitioner to give up abhyaas/ meditation. Let us remeber the unfailing verdict: "No pain, no gain." Only the most valiant of fighters, who are prepared to embrace death(closing the nine doors to worldly satisfactions), and storm the dark fortress of Kal and karmas, can achieve their purpose. Listen to what lovers say: "O Farid!(in my effort to reach His Palace), my body is afire like an oven, and my bones are burning like fuel. (Shall I tarry? No.) When my legs are withered and move no more. I shall walk on my head, if I could have only a glimpse of Him. Waheguru.
  23. Some words of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj on Naam and its simran ... O Nanak, chant the Name of God, with heart-felt devotion. Everything else is just a pompous worldly show, and the practice of false deeds. Sachay Patshah Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj, tell us in simple words, that do His Simran with Love and devotion as means for our union with Him, because all else that one may do, is useless, as it is all "koor", all false deeds...let no one stay under the false believing or braham, that apart from the bhagtee of Naam Simran, there is nothing valid for the salvation of our souls. That is why on each ang, each Raag of the Bani, mahima of Naam and its kamaee is only stressed by our Guru Sahibans. Sat Sree Akal.
