Pen Jee, thanks for such an inspiring and natural post; but if allowed I would like to share some points along : The brain may be the receptor and decipher the electrical signals received, and is useful when there is body .... But what about, when one deceases, and there is no physical body with its organs? The thing is , the mind receives information through the senses and the physical organs. And all this, is limited between the material parameters. Saints tell us, that the soul has the faculty to see, which is called "nirat", and the faculty to listen, which is called "surat". Christ also referring to this topic says in the Bible: having eyes yee see not, having ears yee hear not. Sachay Patshah Dhan Guru Angad Dev Maharaj also, tells us something on this Sound listening and seeing, in His pure paviter Bani of Raag Majh: ਅਖੀ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਵਿਣੁ ਕੰਨਾ ਸੁਨਣਾ Akhee Baajhahu Vaekhanaa Vin Kannaa Sunanaa अखी बाझहु वेखणा विणु कंना सुनणा To see without eyes; to hear without ears; Here He is telling us, that, that power of Truth, of Shabad or Naam which is within us, is reverberating all the 24 hours, which can be seen and listened to, and for that, we do not need these physical eyes nor these physical ears. So what He is saying is, that Primal Sound or Shabad, has existed right from the very begining, and is the source and origin of everything seen or unseen. Christ also says in the Bible: In the begining was the Word(Shabad), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.... Now most of us can not listen or see the reulgence of that Shabad within, and that is because, our minds are filled with the filth of karmas, desires, revenges, anger, hatred, falsehood ...... but that does not mean, that the Shabad of which our Guru Sahibans and all the true Gurmukhs or Bhagats talk about, is something a product of their imagination. Nay. It is their very interaction and experience with that ultimate and Supreme Truth, known as Shabad, Anhad Bani, Amrit Bani, Naam ..... different words have been used by different Lovers of God, at different places and times, but all do refer to the same Power ਪੈਰਾ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਚਲਣਾ ਵਿਣੁ ਹਥਾ ਕਰਣਾ Pairaa Baajhahu Chalanaa Vin Hathhaa Karanaa पैरा बाझहु चलणा विणु हथा करणा To walk without feet; to work without hands; ਜੀਭੈ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਇਉ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰਣਾ Jeebhai Baajhahu Bolanaa Eio Jeevath Maranaa जीभै बाझहु बोलणा इउ जीवत मरणा To speak without a tongue-like this, one remains dead while yet alive. In the above 2 lines, Satguru Jee is telling us, that not only can the soul see and listen without physical eyes and ears, but it can move and fly also, without any feet nor hands to work. Naturally all these references by Guru Jee, are of the spiritual aspects of the soul alone, not of the body... Now we may ask, what is the work of the soul which Guru Jee refers to? Well, He clearly refers to the work of devotion, of bhagtee of Wahiguru .... In which, one need not do anything such as rituals, customs, idol worship, etc(outer practices), in order to have the Darshan of the Jot of Wahiguru, and listen to the divine melodies emananting from that Shabad ..... But that much, as, His bhajan bandagee Further on He reveals us some secrets for one´s spiritual progress and achievements, that, one need not the tongue to recite nor read anything in performing His devotion, but to do His Naam Simran with concentrated attention, in order to gather our dispersed consciousness throughout the nine portals of the body, and enter the spiritual realms, and there with the aid and guidance of Naam, through its Light and Sound, return back to our Nijh Ghar Sach Khand. That is why the Bani says: Shabad Guru, Surat Dhun chela. The Shabad is our True Guru, and the disciples/ sikhs or chelas are our souls. Sat Sree Akal.

Hearty congartulations Paa jee, at least there is someone blessed by Him, who does the right devotion and confirms that the teachings of our Guru Sahibans, if done faithfully, is the only means to enter the inner spiritual realms, where the Truth permeates. And this very Truth is perceived purer and purer as one ascends higher and higher in the vehicle of Naam and the fuel of Love for His Lotus Feet. Religion in the hands of blind, ignorant and greedy humans, is surely a path to destruction. On the other side, religion as revealed by our Guru Sahibans, Gurmukhs or Sant Janas, is a path to permanent peace and immortality. These are the differences between the ignorant humans and the all wise Sant Janas.... While the humans blindly fight and kill for ignorance as goal ..... the Gurmukhs teach us to live for Him, with our hearts full of devotion at His Lotus Feet, and have as goal at all times .... While all humans have their so called "religions" and try to impose ..... Sant Janas say: Sabna jeea ka Iko Daata, so meh visar na jae. And moreover: Sarab Dharam meh Sresht Dharam, Har ko Naam jap, nirmal karam. It is something like children quarreling and fighting with their drawings of the Sun planet which was not seen by any of them, each one saying mine is bigger and better; then suddenly some Ustaad enters that room and sees the nonsense(wars, hatred, fightings) going among those children.... and tells them, stop fighting, none of your suns are true, all of them are made of paper(idol worship, perishable made of 5 tattwas), can give no light no warmth(wisdom, gyan). If you really want to see the true Sun, come with me outside(means inside our body, nar narayanee deh) and see its refulgence/Jot and feel its heat(love/Shabad). This above, is our story here also. Gurmukhs of all times, kindly invite us to abandon manmat, and follow Gurmat(not as rules or rituals, but as said above, the nirmal karam of Naam Simran) at the same time, in order to truly know that True Supreme Being Wahiguru Akal Purukh, not as mere unreachable theory, but as something real, reachable and realizable. There are ways and ways to view things.... And in short I will not speak about the muslims or others and their views, but that much I will surely say, we are lucky and blessed to be born in sikhee, and so we can proudly chant: Sabh Gobind hae, sabh Gobind hae, bin Gobind nahee koee ..... Psychology class It was a practical session in the psychology class. The professor showed a large cage with a male rat in it. The rat was in the middle of the cage. Then, the professor kept a piece of cake on one side and kept a female rat on the other side. The male rat ran towards the cake and ate it. Then, the professor changed the cake and kept some bread. The male rat ran towards the bread. This experiment went on with the professor changing the food every time. And, every time, the male rat ran towards the food item and never towards the female rat. Professor said: This experiment shows that food is the greatest strength and attraction. Then, one of the students from the back rows said: "Sir, please change the rat. She may be his wife !

What type of devotion, pleases Wahiguru? Almost all mankind is engaged in some or other types of devotions. But have we ever thought, or asked ourselves, among all devotions, which one is the most pleasing to Him? Well, almost each one if asked, will give an answer according to its level of consciousness. But if we want to the truth of this question, then we must ask someone who is the emodiment of the highest devotion, because only that type of devotion, will make us fit to reach His abode, and merge in Him. And this answer is seen below in the words of Dhan Dhan Satguru Ram Das Maharaj. Because only the right devotion will make possible our merging in Him and become one with Him. In Sach Khand, nobody goes to keep its individual identity, there only Nirankar exists. So naturally if only He exists there, how come we can think even otherwise, that there are large crowds of different souls, or Gurmukhs, Guru Sahibans, Sant Janas...etc. That is not the purpose of Akal Purukh. These individual identities may exist in the planes below Braham, like for example in the hindu gods/godesses , or our baseless beliefs, that our heros are there, or even the present or future heros shall go there ...that is not Gurmat. There only He alone exists. Satnam samunder. If any drop reaches there through the river, both, the river and the drop of water become the ocean. That is His mahanta. So going back to the type of devotion which pleases Him, it is quite clear in the following words of Sree Guru Ram Das Maharaj: ਿਜਨ ਕੀ ਭਗਿਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰ੍ਭ ਭਾਈ िजन की भगित मेरे पर्भ भाई jin kee bhagat mayray parabh bhaa-ee. Those whose devotional worship is pleasing to my God - ਤੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਿਲਵ ਲਾਈ ते जन नानक राम नाम िलव लाई tay jan naanak raam naam liv laa-ee. O Nanak, those humble beings center their minds lovingly on the Lord's Name He is telling us, that those who center their minds lovingly on Him, through His Nam Simran, is the one devotion which pleases Him. And by pleasing Him, we are begging him to shower His unlimited Daya Meher on us, which ultimately is the means of union with him, and not at all our feeble efforts. So if we have even 1 gram of common sense, Gurmat has very clearly kept the teachings in front of us, it is our responsibility to act accordingly, otherwise we know the wheel of eighty four is already there waiting, for those who misuse the human opportunity, and do not do the right devotion and merge in Him. Dear Lost, kaam is a very bad vice, it is through this vice that the mind drags to the lower levels of consciousness. This very mind, induces you to do something wrong, then once got it done, then it creates these remorsements in you....it is like a devil playing with you and then laughing at you. This is the technique of the mind to keep our souls entangled in the creation, and kaam is only one of its 5 weapons to attack our souls. This "man" or mind, is a very faithful servant of Kal Purukh; it faithfully carries the orders to keep the souls deluded with all the rubbish of karmas, vices or vikars, thus enchained in the cycle of births and deaths, and this means, the creation up to the Causal plane or the region of Braham, is guaranteed its continuity....because as long as souls are prisoners here, the creation of Kal Purukh will continue to exist. And this is what he wants. He does not want even a single soul to ever know of its origin, Satnam or Sat Purukh /Akal Purukh. Apart from karmas, maya and mind, there are more nets spread upon the souls, like dharam / mazab, bhoomee / land, rituals, symbols,pilgrimages, religions, politics, karam khands, and an endless list of such traps, for which we fail to recognize our true essence as souls, and so, we never ever give a single thought in going to our True Home. We fight and kill in the name of my religion, my land, and go to the extent to believe that by doing so, I shall go direct to heaven, because I am giving my life for a noble purpose. This is totally wrong. By doing this we are more occupied with the false entanglements of the world, than for our True Father Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Countless millions came and went away empty handed, and in the future this shall continue also. Gurmat was not for the purpose to perpetuate our stay here. Gurmat is to liberate ourselves from all these stupid and baseless things, and to establish firmly Wahiguru Akal Purukh alone, in our hearts and minds, with the jugtee of Nam Simran. Do you get what I am saying? When one engages oneself sincerely into the devotion of Wahiguru, through His Naam Simran, this washes all the impurities within us, and this churning of His Naam, produces the true Amrit within us, and by drinking it, it makes us inmaculate, then all vikars, all vices, all sins get washed away. The difference is that, that worldly amrit is made of one of the five nashvant elements of the creation and is had by drinking it. But the real Amrit which the Bani talks about, is His Shabad, His Dhun, which has to be heard by the soul. In the Anand Sahib, we have heard and read: Naam jinke man vasiyaa, vajeh Shabad ganere. Means, if the jugtee of Naam Simran has been implanted deep within you, one starts listening to the divine melodies within, which are reveberateing non stop all the 24 hours within us irrespective of class, nationality gender, caste or creed. No body has any copyright over it. This is truly written, when the Bani says: Sabna Jeeea Ka Iko Daata. He is the only One true creator/ giver of all beings/souls. The Bani in Jap Ji Sahib says: Suniye, paap dukh ka naas. Listen to it, and all your sorrows and sins shall be wiped away This inner Amrit is the True Amrit, which if had, as said above, no vikars, mind, maya, Yam dhoots, or its boss Kal, shall ever trouble the soul ever again. Why? Because now the soul has taken refuge into the Lotus feet of Wahiguru, so it is wahiguru Himself who is with us at all times, so no evil can ever dares to come near the soul/ the sikh. This is Gurmat, This is the purpose of Gurmat. To release us from our karmas and worldly bandhans, and free us, in order to go back to our True Home, Sach Khand. So brother lost, do not loose hope and faith, no matter how many times you may have failed and fallen down, pay attention to the Bani and follow it implicitly, thus hold tight to his Lotus Feet through Naam simran, and you will be amazed with the changes will take within you, your face shall shine with His Light reflected in you, which as said, is nothing but the power and light generated within us by doing His Simran. Sat Sree Akal guys, please do not feel sorry at all. My post was not directed to anyone in particular ....but just generally for the people. It is just that I get bugged up and feel helpless, when I pitifully see, that Sikhee is so simple, and we are so entangled with this world and its customs, that instead of getting near Akal Purukh, we do all sort of other things and we get away from Him. I am quite conscious, that maya ´s effects are devatsing in this part of the creation; but we too are no less, we are sikhs .... we have to become aware of our true nature, and do justice to our Guru Sahibans and to ourselves at the same time, by following implicitly the Bani. And the Bani clearly says: Awar kaaj tere kiteh na kaam, mil Sadh Sangat bhaj kewal Naam. Let us ponder a little bit on the line above, and ask ourselves, is this Truth so difficult to understand and follow? Why have we complicated Sikhee so much, and with what right? Who are we to manipulate the sacred words of our Guru Sahibans? The Bani again says: Main andhule kee tek, Tera Naam adhaar. We are all blind, and we have to get support on Naam, just as a blind man has the support on his stick to walk. Guru Sahiban, does not say any other thing to do to reach our True Home, but to exclusively hold tight to Naam Simran, to reach our goal, that´s it. I think, rather I should ask maafee, from all of you by making you feel disturbed with my post, but believe me, it was not at all directed to you , but rather it was an sad expression of helplesness, when I see any brother / sister in such situations as mentioned by you above, or anyone getting away from Him, due to manmat of the majority. Supposing one is born temporary blind, and one can not see the reality around.... that does not mean, that when one recovers its vision or sight, and sees the reality around, thinks : oh!, I have invented this or I have discovered that.... Wouldn´t it be silly saying so? We humans can only create or discover, that which is perishable, and that also from the elements which were already created by Someone ...... We are imperfect, and so is that limited so called creations by us: however strong houses we may build, a small eathquake will destroy it, like toys crushed down... planes made and flied by us, fail and fall down... and so on, anything we do is limited.... But look at His creation, the Sun without any support or dependence gives its warmth and energy, without charging us any bills, since millions of years....the moon gives us it´s tranquility; the air with it´s breeze gives us freshness... and so.... Just see the magnificence and inmense beauty, in His creation. Any disasters that ocurr in the nature, are due to the manipulative hands of the greedy, miser and pauper mankind .... And to think that man has discovered or invented Him...shows nothing but utter ignorance and blindness. Now we do not see Him though He is Omnipresent, means there is no place where He is not, thus this is due to the filthy layers upon our minds ..... Only when we remove those dirty layers, with the aid of Gurmat, we shall see Him right everywhere.... So how does Gurmat help usin achieveing our goal to see Him? First it awakes awareness in us about Him, then through its jugtee, or bhakti bandagee, it removes all dirt from us, thus we regain our spiritual sight and see Him .... This is the mahanta of sikhee ... the mahanta of our Guru Sahibans ...the mahanta of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Sat Sree Akal.

My objective in following sikhee is: 1º to become a good human being and 2º to work it out(sikhee), and see Him eye to eye while living along with His Grace, which is possible thankfully through Gurmat alone. Only once one sees Him in this way, then that means, one has reached that blessed stage, that one is surley going to merge in Him. Then the individual soul, the individual tiny drop, is ready to merge and become one with Satnam Samundar. After eons and eons away from Him, it is a matter of just a short time.... that much short ,as one´s life left on this earth. Sat Sree Akal.

Nothing of that sort..... Better said, He revealed Himself to us through His beloved Guru Sahibans, Gurmukhs, Sant Janas, Bhagats ... The Sun is there with full Light, it is we have to open our eyes, and we do not even know how to do that. As said, it is by by learning to open our eyes from our Guru Sahibans, that we can see Him, not otherwise. He is not hidden anywhere, He is omnipresent. Means, He is everywhere. And someone who is omnipresent, can neither be invented nor discivered. Moreover, He is not only omnipresent, but also omnipotent and omniscient. Like breathing, we breathe to continue existing. Nobody discovered breathing, neither invented it. Oxygen existed even before we were born. The same, Shabad/Nam, conscious energy exists since ever, and as such,he is the reason of our very existence. Waheguru Jee

SOMETHING ABOUT TEMPLES AND INDIA An American decided to write a book about Temples around the World. So he bought a plane ticket and took a trip to China . On his first day he was inside a Temple taking photographs when he Noticed a golden telephone mounted on the wall with a sign that read "$10,000 per call". The American, being intrigued, asked a priest who was strolling by what The telephone was used for. The priest replied that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 you could talk to God. The American thanked the priest and went along his way. Next stop was in Japan . There, at a very large Temple, he saw the Same golden telephone with the same sign under it. He wondered if this was the same kind of telephone he saw in China and He asked a nearby priest what its purpose was. He told him that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 He Could talk to God. "O.K., thank you," said the American. He then traveled to Pakistan , Srilanka , Russia , Germany and France . In every Temple he saw the same golden telephone with the same "$10,000 Per call" sign under it. The American, upon leaving Vermont decided to travel to up to India to See if Indians had the same phone. He arrived in India , and again, in the first Temple he entered, there Was the same golden telephone, but this s time the sign under it read "One Rupee per call." The American was surprised so he asked the priest about the sign. "Priest, I've traveled all over World and I've seen this same golden Telephone in many Temple. I'm told that it is a direct line to Heaven, But in rest of the world price was $10,000 per call. Why is it so cheap here?" Readers, it is your turn........ Dear brother, in simple words, I would say: one is a Punjabee, by being born in Punjab, and by belonging to that land, by cultural, parental, ancestral relationships or ties. This is a totally wordly aspect. But being a sikh, is something different or higher. Sikh means disciple. So if there is a disciple, naturally there has to be a Guru. Now let us ask ourselves, who are we? Are we the body? The answer will be, no, we are not the body, because the body is made of unconscious and inert 5 tattwas or elements, which remain here when we die. Then what remains? Mind and soul / atma. Mind also is a perishable entity, though finer it maybe. Mind, with the jugtee of Bhajan Bandagee, is left behind in the plane of Braham or the Causal region. Then what alone is left? Obviously the soul. Now as the Bani says: Shabad Guru, surat dhun chela. Once the coverings of matter or physical body, and mind (astral and causal bodies) are removed from the soul, the soul follows without any obstacles, faithfully its Guru. So it is clear, the true sikh, is the soul, when it follows its Shabad Guru, with total love, total faith and total devotion, just as a new baby is to it´s mother... Waheguru.

Brother Raman, enough of manmat, give a chance to Gurmat. All our miseries are because we do things in our own way, not only that, but we also proudly tell others to do the same. It is like blind trying to guide blind.....moorakhs humans. It is not your fault only. It is the fault of all of us, who inspite of knowing what the Bani says, still we do things, like the practitioners of other dharmas. Just let us see, where does the Bani say, that in order to lighten one´s miseries, one should do other practices ? I have just opened Sukhmani Sahib, and I am going to share with you real Gurmat: ਸਿਮਰਉ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਉ Simaro Simar Simar Sukh Paavo सिमरउ सिमरि सिमरि सुखु पावउ Meditate, meditate, meditate in remembrance of Him, and find peace. ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਤਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਉ Kal Kalaes Than Maahi Mittaavo कलि कलेस तन माहि मिटावउ Worry and anguish shall be dispelled from your body. One can clearly see, the Bani says, meditate on Him, and your worry and anguish shall run away, just as darkness with a ray of light. It does not say anything about any other practice, other than meditating on Him. Now, one may ask: how to meditate on Him, if I have never seen Him? For that very reason and purpose, our Bani constantly throughout, mentions repeatedly, Nam Simran. Doing Nam Simran, is as good as meditating on Him. That much simple. Our sikhee, sadly is subtley being modified, adulterated, twisted, and manipulated with our own manmat, many external factors are being introduced, and we are all keeping silent, without any even a slight protest ...we are so distracted looking at others, while our own house is being looted of its wealth, which is Truth, which is Nam, which is Shabad ....... Alas, this one Truth of Nam in Gurmat has been placed to a farther place out of sight, and rituals, rules, regulations, politics, external practices, bathings, pilgrimages and a big list alike have been brought into it ..... The Bani lays stress only on one thing Wahiguru and His Nam. Read any Ang: if the mind has to be subdued, the medicine of Nam is mentioned... if the 5 vikaras are to be defetaed, Nam is the remedy.... If we want to obtain salvation, Nam is the solution.... If we want to reach Sach Khand, again Nam is the vehicle... If we want to get rid of our desires, Nam is what we need... If we want to merge and become one with Wahiguru, Nam is only what we need. If we want to get rid from the fear of death and Yam Kal, we should hold on tight to Nam .... If we want real knowledge, devotion, love for His Lotus Feet, Nam is to be sought ..... So if one sees with proper attention, if anything is to be spiritually achieved, our beloved Guru Sahibans throughout the Bani, have only recommended us to take Nam alone as our anchor.... so if we depend on anything else, or even give a slight look at anything else rather than Nam, we are doing a great unjustice to our Guru Sahibans and their teachings... And going agianst Gurmat, in the end will only mean pain and misery for us, whether we accept it or not, whether we like it or not. Our Guru Sahibans who are the embodiment of Akal Purukh are important, not we, moorakhs. And respecting our Gurus, means, following their teachings implictly, without even changing or adding a comma... in this type of devotion to them and their teachings, lays our ultimate benefit, which is none other than, He Himself. Waheguru.

DIVINE HELP Many times people report the feeling of divine help and strength when they come close to breaking point. Actually divine help is always there, but we are usually so busy doing things in our own little way, that we only look for it when we face absolute defeat. The tranquil nature of enlightened souls comes from their ability to take God's help constantly. A state of true surrender will lead to the feeling of victory in everything we do.

ABUNDANCE Abundance is to see that there are endless possibilities before us. And at the same time, still see an incredibly rich existence right where we are. It is a feeling of gratitude for everything and everyone we have in our life.

ACCEPTANCE AND LOVE Love can never be exclusive. The sun does not choose to shine on some flowers in the garden and not others. Love is inclusive and has many faces - caring, listening, sharing from the heart, just accepting someone for what they are right now, are all acts of love, as long as you seek nothing in return. It all starts with acceptance of yourself - you're just fine as you are right now, warts and all. It's not that you will stay that way for ever - but you might, if you don't accept. The secret key to the greatest door called love is acceptance. First your self, then others (especially the ones you currently resist) and eventually ...all.

GOD IS ALWAYS THERE WHEN YOU CALL HIM Do You Believe This??? A girl went to her friends house and she ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small COMMUNITY and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the bike trail Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a shortcut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, 'Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her. Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're not alone. People will not stand up for God..
