) Bhappa RawalBappa Rawal played an important role in the Battle of Rajasthan, a series of wars fought in the 8th century AD between the regional rulers of North-Western India and the Arabs of Sindh, in which the regional Indian rulers inflicted a resounding defeat on the invading Arabs. In the 8th century Arab Muslims started attacking India within a few decades of the birth of Islam, which was basically an extension of invasion of Persia. Bappa Rawal fought and defeated the Arabs in the country and turned the tide for a while. Bin Qasim was able to defeat Dahir in Sindh but was stopped by Bappa Rawal. Some accounts say that Qasim attacked Chittor, which was ruled by Mori Rajputs. Bappa, of Guhilot dynasty, was a commander in Mori army and so was Dahir's son. Bappa defeated and pursued Bin Qasim through Saurashtra and back to the western banks of the Sindhu (i.e. current day Baluchistan). Sardar Bhagwant Singh along with his seven brothers and Banda Singh Bahadur( whom Guru Gobind Singh sent with them acknowledging him as Guru's son ) made his sword bath in tyrant's blood and ruined the Mughal rule in Sirhind which was a very big mughal subah extending from Sutlej to Yamuna. read a little more history about feudal and semi feudal punjabi society. learn about the janjua rebellion against sikhs and how the lahore durbar betrayed them and hari singh nalwa tortured two rajput chieftains to death as they refused to stop rebelling. the janjuas rebelled because the lahore durbar tried to usurp their lands right after the janjuas had helped them in fighting foreign muslims. janjuas were vastly outnumbered and gave sikhs a formidable fight. jamwal rajputs under mian dido were also outnumbered and defeated sikh contingents numerous times. sikhs allied with bharatpur lost to an exclusively rajput army of jaipur. raikot rais (rajputs who were gifted ganga sagar) were betrayed by sikhs. sikhs forgot the benevolence the rajputs offered their guru and led by the bedi at amritsar came to a gurmatta that they should attack raikot for imposing jiziya tax. rajputs fought sikhs 4-1 and almost won until the leader was shot. later sikhs attacked raikot again and patiala and ghorewaha rajputs came to their aid and pushed the sikhs back beyond sutlej and received titles of mansur-i-zaman. so dont try to say sikhs were better soldiers than hindus. also: 1. original sikhs were hindus.. read your sardars' histories. 2. based on the sikh sardars lives, its easy to see how gurbani was really interpreted before singh sabha. 3. sikhs have often almost lost battles even though they outnumbered their enemies as i just mentioned a few stories above. but its good that you have majority of punjab army as hindu here, because thats how it actually was. sikh was just a section of hindu society. as sikhs left shiv shakti, they lost everything. their flags of shakti/devi have been stolen and they no longer know why the khanda is their symbol... a truly subjugated peoples. Sikhi failed to spread because of the British Singh Sabha. As mentioned here earlier, sehajdaris were no longer included and not welcomed by low castes who limited sikhi to themselves. The fall and contraction began when sikhs started to move away from sanatan sikhi- original sikhi. As people moved away from the Lahore Durbar and the Khalsa Raj's literature and artifacts and began to believe british sponsored singh sabha cronies, sikhi stopped spreading and is now limited to a small punjab. Also, do you know how slums came into being? With land reforms, labourers were pushed into the cities where industrialization was protracted. Your right dalsingh, it would be foolish for any rajput maratha ahom ahir Bengali etc to say that they single handedly ashed the yoke of foreign rule and indignity.
