A good idea?
Should more countries have a 'death row'?
The grooming thread made me think about this.
The main issue would be miscarriages of justice and on a Sikhi level I feel it would be inhumane (although if you punish someone whilst in the act of a crime, I feel like that would be more justified). 

Europeans visiting the Sikh kingdom commented on Sikhs abhorring torture.
Feeding them pork was done by some when a muslim wanted to take amrit, and given how dangerous the situation was (in terms of infiltration) it may have been a method to weed out spies as well as make potential recruits show they had no fealty to their former faith.
The case of burning a body I can recall was against a Syed around NWFP who continually orchestrated jihads against the Sikh kingdom. When he and his jihadis were defeated the soldiers searched the battle field for his body and burnt it. Note they only did this with him, and not any other bodies.

And to add to the original post, torture is something I have never heard of with Sikhs.
But burning Muslims or feeding them pork is something Puratan Sikhs have done .
Was it Wazir Khan that Baba Banda Singh Bahadur killed very slowly and painfully ?

We really could use Shikar for Parchar and community building. 
Show up with veg Langar and roast boar to the american indian, black, and islander communities primarily. (Russian and Chinese too this season, lol.)  Do some parchar. Invite everyone on conservation and boar hunting outings. 
Open source all our Gurmat. So they can take what they want to bolstor their community, and of course a few will convert. 
Ish hits the fans. We have Sikhs and allies, friends, from all those communities who know how to hunt.

I think God created wild boar so that the army of God ie. Khalsa could do it's shikaar, practice their hunting skills and eat it's super nutritious meat.
Wild boar has no positive impact on earth. It destroys farm lands and destroys eco systems and they breed like crazy.
The only good thing about wild boar is that they are very intelligent and dangerous and hunting them is a great practice of weapons and increases bravery. Their meat is highly nutritious and this meat could feed millions of people worldwide.
 
 

I read it in the evenings, it works for me

I posted this years ago, when my nitmen was actually pukha compared to now. The reason I posted it was because I think I started regular nitmen  just before autumn time (and tried to keep it broadly aligned to the sunrise and sunset) and when I posted this it was summer, and the difference in times between sundown between the two seasons was major! Like at the time of posting, the sun was still up after 9.00pm (if I recall rightly?), but previously it would go down at around  6.00pm or even earlier.

Veer ji Rehras Sahib Ji can be done before 11pm. Dass heard this in katha.

Essentially, those verses means that any person of any caste or race can reach the stage of Brahamgyan.

The Lord is not satisfied with falsehood; He is pleased only with Truth.
ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਆਗੇ ਪੂਰੈ ਤਾਲ ॥
So play the beat of the drum in the mind.
ਇਸੁ ਨਾਚਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਰਖਵਾਲ ॥੨॥
The Lord is the Protector of the dancer with such a mind. ||2||
 
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਨਿਰਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਵਾਜੈ ਤੂਰਾ ॥

Some are made to dance, and some are whirled around; some come and some go, and some are reduced to dust.

So dance, O mind, before your Guru.

So many people dance for the sake of Maya; how rare are those who contemplate reality.
 
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਪੁ ਜਣਾਵਹਿ ॥
The fools perform devotional worship by showing off;
ਨਚਿ ਨਚਿ ਟਪਹਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
they dance and dance and jump all around, but they only suffer in terrible pain.
ਨਚਿਐ ਟਪਿਐ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
By dancing and jumping, devotional worship is not performed.
ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
But one who dies in the Word of the Shabad, obtains devotional worship. ||3||
 
ਪੂਰੇ ਤਾਲ ਜਾਣੈ ਸਾਲਾਹ ॥
Know that the perfect beat is the Praise of the Lord;
ਹੋਰੁ ਨਚਣਾ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਮਨ ਮਾਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
other dances produce only temporary pleasure in the mind. ||1||Pause||

Uthanka - Some Raasdharis (dancers) came to third master. They asked master, if they could do raas (dance) and show people. Maharaaj did not give them permission.
The following updesh (teaching) was given to them.

ਆਪੇ ਗਾਵੈ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਅੰਧੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥
He Himself sings, He Himself listens, and He puts this blind mind on the right path. ||2||
 
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਚੈ ਸਕਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ਸਿਵ ਘਰਿ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
One who dances night and day, and banishes Shakti's Maya, enters the House of the Lord Shiva, where there is no sleep.
 
ਸਕਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਸੂਤਾ ਨਾਚੈ ਟਾਪੈ ਅਵਰੋ ਗਾਵੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥
The world is asleep in Maya, the house of Shakti; it dances, jumps and sings in duality. The self-willed manmukh has no devotion. ||3||
