Then i asked him whats the the worst case you have dealt with, his answer was they are all bad but youngest age was 7 years old.. come on man...
these f'in demons are preying on our girls, it's for our community to stop being poppu pricks and man up.. This is why this flowery shant ras sikhs piss me off big time..
sorry bro, this sh1t gets me going.. chal maybe its a uk problem for now, but i know first hand sulleh from east london looking to move to canada (i wonder what for)..its all about jannat for them..

I think for you guys, it was like asking a Lion to start eating veggies and drinking milk, the lion is obviously going to lose some aggression & weight haha
But yeah, so much depends on your own body genetics.
As for me, I am sticking to maximum one roti a day, no more than that. I am having a headache today, so went for coffee.

I never got this myself,on veg diet i loose that jaan and energy to go out and do sh1t.....One guy i know turned veg an doesnt take no protein shakes at all and has muscle mass and kinda cut up, not fat type of bulky.i think more then diet it comes down to your own body biology.
    hahaha..so true!!
The insomnia thing you mention is an interesting one..
I respect that man, going on a veg diet cold turkey especially as you was a heavy meat eater..saying that from what i recall your first week was not that bad at all..
Personally, in a perfect situation i would like to be a vege. I ate meat on tuesday yesterday and today..lol its a game changer is all aspects, training, work, interaction ( as im in second week of new job people at work thought i was coming out my shell, little did they know i was coming out of veg diet..lol)
I also feel it comes down to how you are naturally, im more upfront and abrupt and going on this diet took me out my comfort zone, which was a bit uneasy but saying that it was good as i would let 'things go' more easily and not get 'involved'..I know one day ill be a vege but circumstances need to be right..
Just to add, every know and again i usually fast for a day or 2, which helps big timein resetting your body a little and gives a break to the digestive system,so just a little tip for the non veges..lol

    PERSONAL SYNOPSIS
Okay folks, as promised, I'll be giving you a personal account and evaluation of my vegruary. Let me say at the outset, these are my personal subjective thoughts; I don't for one second presume they are generalisable because we are all so genetically and biological unique. I'll stick a few headings in to try and keep my thoughts focused and make reading easier. Don't be surprised if you find some replication of thoughts I posted earlier.

    Ease
I found the change in diet easier earlier on than later. Shopping was much quicker because you essentially didn't go near a large part of the supermarket. Cooking varied vegetarian dishes was challenging due to personal lack of experience, I think if you are living with other vegetarians who cook for you, it would be much easier. Or if you're already proficient in cooking such meals. I didn't precook a bunch of food like I might of, due to time constraints from other commitments and my fridge playing up. On reflection this could have helped big time.
I didn't crave meat for the taste at all during the diet, which surprised some people.

    Strength, energy and nutrients
I did find my strength and energy levels gradually but steadily dropping on this diet and I found myself  (more often than I would have liked), missing planned training sessions which was unusual for me. On the last few days the decrease in my rep range was considerable and noticeable. Now whether this was because of the diet per se is debatable. I've subsequently read up on the topic and found accounts explaining that you can have a sharp decrease in red blood cell production when you switch diets suddenly like I did. For all I know this deficiency might have been a main cause of the loss of energy I experienced?  What this does point at is the necessity of being conscious of such things and planning your diet in reflection of that. I think the decrease of creatine from meat may have also played a part in this too? Given that I did this diet without any supplements (creatine, BCCAs etc.), and even used protein powder very very sparingly I'd be interested to see how things would have panned out had I used these readily. But that is an experiment for another day.  Financial constraints prevented me from buying these things this time. Plus it was good for me to see what things would be like without these things. You know, the problem with a decrease in energy is that its effects are wide ranging, so not only can it effect your training performance, you find you don't have the energy/will to whip something up later in the evening, especially after training, so it's like a vicious cycle. Again, I don't know how generalisable these things are because I know a good few vegetarians who are bulky and have lots of jaan. But for me personally, it was an issue.

    Mass
I asked my housemate if I had lost mass on the day after the diet and he said 'definitely'.  I can see myself looking slimmer in the mirror and my muscles are less developed. But I don't look bad, it's like a semi-cut. Hats off to those of you who maintain good bulk on a vegetarian diet. Those of you who actually have obesity problems on a vegetarian diet - boy I don't know how you do it! lol
Expect to lose a few kgs on this diet. In light of this, I think it is a brilliant diet for weight loss. And will definitely use it again for this purpose if required. The diet did a grand job in getting that tidh nice and inwards - which every Panjabi knows can be an issue for us..... lol

    Physical and psychological effects
I've previously mentioned clearer skin, and a calmer frame of mind. The diet helped resolve issues I was having with insomnia very quickly. I'm eating meat now, and have already noticed a quick return of the insomnia. Bags under the eyes decreased too. Whether this was the diet or due to improved sleep is debatable.
I felt 'cleaner' on this diet and woke up feeling infinitely more fresher than usual.

    Overall
It was a great experience and I'd like to try it again, but be better prepared this time with supplements and a better cooking repertoire. I would recommend a vege month to everyone - with the exception of those who are already underweight. Yes, I can see myself getting the components right and becoming a vegetarian some day.

@DSG..If you are worried about it kicking off then start taking steps to be prepared for the worse case scenario. To be 'tyar bar tyar' is to be ready at any moment for when sh1t hits the fan. Training goes a long way but ultimately nothing can really prepare you for a situation where you are out numbered. So what can you do? Defo train, learn an art, if you do not have time, go on youtube and look at self defense vids (krav maga may be good), just practice. Try visualizing yourself in such a situation and think what you would do. (A bit like shadow boxing)..
Being put in that situation may not make you freeze but unleash the beast in you..lol
Also, 'tyar bar tyar' is not just for the physical battle but mental/spiritual battle too. The army of kalyug is also waiting patiently on those who are in their bhagti, the 5 chor are just around the corner ready to pounce when you least expect it.
    p.s watch martial arts films..lol

    DAY 29: 29/2/16 (Last day)

Okay guys, I'll tell you what I've had today:
Breakfast: 2 LM sausages in Burgen bread sandwich (with ketchup). Green tea.
Lunch: Celery and carrot sticks with homous. Soaked almonds. (Had a couple pieces of hazelnut and choc bar too)
Dinner: 2 rotis + black daal and rajma + Greek yogurt + mango achaar.
I'm yet to eat the last meal above (it's heating up as I type!), and I can't wait for it.
Training wise, I just did a little bit of cardio, 6 sets of dips  and some core to target that tidh. It was FREEZING today and that didn't help with training, plus I was in a celebratory mood having finished the month. I made it!
Thanks for everyone who shared this experience with me on the blog, I really appreciate it. You made it infinitely more interesting and I loved all the sharing of experiences.

I'm going to have a think about things over the next day or so and will post a synopsis of the experience in that time.

In case people are wondering (and so I don't leave you hanging), I'm in no rush to eat meat, but I got a bunch frozen in the freezer I have to finish at some stage. I'm really glad I did this, and it's given me so much useful information.

I want to share something on this thread to celebrate: It's Christopher Shackle's hard to find An introduction to the sacred language of Sikhs. It really helps with vocabulary. I hope some of you find it useful.

But if one does not have time on their hands to go through such exercises, they simply can recite Naam & Gurbani with love & devotion.  Everyone is unique, go with whatever works for you.  Some people are adventurous & like to explore, whereas others are just content with simple things.
