  1. That was a very powerful scene from the movie. Amazing! Shows us that we should get as puritanical as possible despite what the world thinks. Sikhs in the west who stay in the traditional Sikh bana are all praiseworthy.
  2. Leadership should be with Gursikhs, caste really shouldn’t matter. Leadership in the panth should be beyond caste barriers.
  3. N30 Singh, refuting Jasbir Singh directly means to discuss the authenticity of some of Dasam Granths bani. Either way, it is violating Akal Takhts hukam nama where by discussing the authenticity of Dasam Granths bani in favor or against is forbidden. As a Sikh it was my duty to inform you of this. If you want to still violate the Akal Takhts hukamnama like Jasbir Singh Mann did then go ahead.
  4. N30, isn't it against the Akal Takhts hukam to discuss whether or not the Dasam Granth is bani. If Jasbir Singh Maan goes against the Akal Takht's hukam let him, why should you, I and others do the same by going against the Akal Takhts hukamnama.
  5. Theek hai Bhai. I respect your views. If Sant Jee comes back, thats great. But if Sant Jee comes back, will he have aged since 84 or will he look exactly the way he did back in 84?
  6. Ok, I understand. So it’s just symbolic for sake of tradition. But still, I cant stop feeling that if I were a Brahman Sikh, I would feel offended at this tradition. Maybe in the future the Nirmala might change it. But Veer Lalleshwari is this tradition only followed by one or two Nirmala Jathas, or by all of them? Also, do Nirmalas have a website?
  7. Laleshwari, a lot of people say that Baba Santa Singh Jee is a Mazbee (Churaa) Sikh. BTW, why do Sanatan Sikhs discriminate based on caste even against Brahmans? I always pictured Nirmalaas as Saniasees/Tiagees who were beyond worldly caste system.
  8. Sindha Singh Jee, a lot of people know Baba Takhur Singh Jee has said this. Infact, I think he said something like if Sant Jarnail Singh Jee does not come back by 2004, “meri dhari patt deoâ€. As for the 2004 thing, this was told to me by people who have heard from Taksali leaders in Toronto telling them that “Baba Takhur Singh Jee told me Sant Jarnail Singh Jee is coming back in 2004â€.
  9. Just because Krishan used some dirty tricks to make the Pandav win doesn’t mean krishan wasn’t punished for using dirty tricks. He had to suffer just as much as the Kuru dynasty did. The punishment krishan had to endure was that his entire vansh i.e. Yadhu Vansh was destroyed in a civil war with not a single Yadhav remaining just as all the Kurus were destroyed in the Great War. This was because of a curse he received from Mata Gandhaari for using all these dirty tricks. Lesson from this is, “the ends don’t justify the meansâ€. LOL, Sarbloh Kashera. Good one!
  10. Beast, actually the Puraatan Singhs did not fight a conventional war where two armies face each other with there infantry to back them up. Puraatan Singhs fought a guerilla war against the Muslims. They were fighting against an enemy that followed no rules. As for Kshatriya Maryadha. This Maryadha had some very fine and noble rules to live by. Manu Simrati and other Sanatan texts mention that a Kshatriya cannot attack an enemy who has fallen on the ground, and should only attack when the opponent is back on his feet. Since ancient Kshatriyas were also Keshadaris like the Sikhs, Manu Simrati says one should not attack an opponent whose Jooras has opened loose. One should give him a chance to tie his Joora back, then resume fighting. There are many such rules the Kshatriyas lived.
  11. Yeah, well there is nothing wrong in using low blow tactics if the other guy is using them first. Perfectly justified
  12. Actually Veer, there was a website about this, which showed our views and proved that the oppositions case was very fragile and weak. But due to some pressure from the likes of the Tara Hayer lobby of supporters, Ujjal Dosanjh that site was forced to be shut down.
  13. Mugarmuch Singh, the reason I pointed this out was because Veer Narsingha said it was Kshatriya Maryadha to attack the groin. But if you read ancient Sanatan texts like the Mahabharat then you’ll know that low blows were against kshatriya maryadha. Infact low blows were punishable by death. You have to understand is that, ancient Kshatriyas were very noble hearted souls who fought in accordance to rules and regulations which is known as Kshatriya maryadha. They were not like us Kalyugi folks who will use every dirty trick in the book in order to defeat their opponent(s). Personally speaking, whenever I have fought, I have never used dirty tactics, low blows to defeat my opponents, unless my opponent uses them first, then I am justified in using similar methods.
  14. How do you know it’s not being practiced by people? I know of people who send money every month to India in order to take care of Shaheed families. Sure more can and should be done, but to say that nothing is being done is nothing short of absurdity.
  15. Baba Takhur Singh jee’s bachan is that Sant Jee will be arriving in the year 2004. Now it is 2004, and if by the end of 2004 Sant Jarnail Singh Jee does not come back, then even you will have to admit that he a Shaheed. I personally am going with the Panth and Akal Takht on this one which has declared Sant Jee as Shaheed. Even his son says his father is Shaheed. Anyway, let’s not go of topic on this one. I’ll just wait for the end of 2004. Personally, I hope he comes back if he is not Shaheed. My “beloved I don’t even know him! N30 Singh you need to understand the politics of this trial. Inderjit Singh admitted to manslaughter because that would mean he will be released sooner and be with this family, with whom he has been unable to be with for a very long time. It was just a tactical move on Interjit Singh reyats part, nothing more! It was more of a victory for him rather than the Canadian prosecutors who have no forensic evidence against the accused. All the prosecution has are these desperate turncoat Punjabis trying to get 15 minutes of fame. But even they cant hold their ground when they have to answer to the defense team. So what if he said that! That doesn’t mean he carried that out. Even Sant Jarnail Singh made similar remarks which were later taken out of context by the Indian media and GOI in order to attack Darbar Sahib. I have said things like this in my lifetime as well, but I have not killed anyone.
  16. N30 Singh, why get so excited if Sukhdev mentioned injustices that have happened to us?. He didn’t even mention “Khalistanâ€. But as a Sikh he does have “Dardâ€(pain) in his heart when remembering the fact that men like Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tyter who led thousands of mobs to kill and rape thousands of Sikhs are now not only free but are members of the Indian parliament! That is a slap on our face. That’s a slap on the faces of thousands of widows in Delhi who saw their husbands burning alive with a tire around their necks. What kind of justice is that? This is proof of Ghulaami. Just because the fire in your heart has extinguished, doesn’t mean you should ridicule others that still have it. Wah! N30 Singh Wah! Spoken like the enemy. Last I checked the trial of the air India bombing is still going around. Fortunately, the Canadian courts don’t pre-judge people as you would without any evidence. The trial is still going on, so don’t judge before it’s over. The Panthic Sangarsh may be down currently, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be back up in the future. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Bhindrawala’s Shaheedi won’t go in vain. Sant Jee’s vachan will come true one day whether you like it or not. Let’s not forget that after the Shaheedi of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, the Sikh movement was down for almost a decade. But eventually it was back up. After some time the Sikhs won their independence. Who is to say the same thing cannot happen now? India as a nation has done a lot of bad Karmas against Guru Jee’s Panth. What goes around comes around (law of Karma). With the accumulation of so much bad Karmas, India as a nation will have to pay for it somehow. Only God know how it will pay, but justice will be done.
  17. Don’t get too optimistic N30 Singh. Don’t know why you are all happy at this. Yeah it’s great that one of our boys is going to be the “head†of a nation. But Sonia is still the head of the Congress party. Manmohan Singh will have to do whatever she says. By nominating a Sikh as the PM of India still doesn’t erase the fact that Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler are MPs in India representing the Congress party.
  18. I would contribute to this thread, but it will just be deleted and the entire thread will be locked. So what the use....
  19. I like the idea of blue Nishan Sahibs.
  20. speaking of Maha Kumb Mela, Sadhus, Yogis, sects of various kinds attended from all over India. Did Budha Dal attend as well?
  21. Veer Lalleshvari, where are they located? are Niramala well known even amongst the Sadhus that go the Kumb Mela? I know that the Udasis are respected amongst the Sadhus and Yogis. But what about the Nirmalas? What do the learned Pandits and Sadhus think of them?
  22. Veer Narsingha, I have already shared my view, it was your turn to share yours. BTW, I don’t live in England. So I can’t come to one of your Akharas. But I have seen your website i.e. the ShastarVidiya and Sarbloh one.
  23. --But Veer Narsingha, why is it that the Nihangs in India refer to the Sikh martial arts as Gatka? They use the term "Gatka" and “Shastar Vidiya†interchangeably, as if there is no difference. Shastar Vidiya just means Knowledge (vidhiya) of weapons (Shastar), and all martial arts in the world can be defined as “Shastar Vidiyaâ€. --Groin Attacks?? Narsingha, that is not Kshatriya Maryadha. According to Kshatriya Maryadha one cannot attack the groin or hurt their opponents using low blow tactics. In Mahabharat when Bhim killed Dhuryodhan by attacking below his waist line he was reprimanded and even about to be killed by his Guru, Sri Balram before Sri Krishan persuaded him to forgive Bhim for going against Kshatriya Maryadha.
