wjkk,wjkf. my dearest veers & paanjis. i don't understand wot got me into sikhi, its with guru jis kirpa that i have. i do my paath / kirtan. go gurdwara, am always buzzing... well i was until recently. ardass after ardass i do bhenti that "Waheguru, i know u r always there, that ur arn't letting me go - its me, my hand is slipping out of urs. Plz Waheguru stop me from letting my hand slip." i feel abandoned. i am still doing my paath / kirtan etc but i feel nothing. it is one thing to not feel anything but it is worse to find it & then loose it. i am really in despair, i don't know wot to do. i've spoken to a few relatives but to no avail. i am probably one of the biggest manmukhs here... am i meant to just accept this? its so painful. wjkk,wjkf 'keep it simple' these are beautiful words but extremely hard to live by; words which i am trying to aspire to. reguarding make-up, my friends were having a discussion & a point arose that i neva expected. as one friend enquired y, stating that gury ji has given you beauty why alter it, its not urs to alter the other stated; "i am not changing it, i am enhancing the beauty i have been blessed with..." just thought it was an interesting point... bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf i have considered deeply about wearing a dastaar but one thing holds me back; that i have seen the loss of repect for 'kesh'; [not every1!] but i have seen sooo many keski wearing singhnees with perfect eyebrows, no upper lip hair, bare arms etc. & yes i agree that some of them could naturally have less hair, but it is quite easy to identify those who remove their hair :? the whole point of wearing a keski is to protect the hair; so how can you justify the removal of facial/ arm/ leg hair? could the sangat plz give their views on this; awaiting your responces; bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf this is an extremely serious situation; sikhi should have a strong anchor within the family unit; having this as a strong influence from a young age is key in keeping some form of contact within sikhism & also passing it onto future generations. a conscious effort needs to be made. one thing i will say though that this is 'kaam' & as my wise paanji stated this time of 'kalyug' is a very strong one. before we were able to see exactly who/ what was coming at us & from where. nowerdays it is a great deal different; deceat is occurring from all angles. i always come back to this; its only with guru jis kirpa that our eyes can open to the truth. like the old saying goes; 'u can take a horse to the river but can't force it to drink.' wjkk,wjkf.

wjkk,wjkf akaal takat quite recently concluded this; there have been many queries reguarding hair removal in operation; 'should i retake amrit?' / 'is taking chulai enough?' / 'should i refuse the operation?' :shock: its been passed that if hair removal is done through a medical reason (operation) then it is excusable. the same goes for medicine. this can be classed as 'nashai valia cheejaa' which is a big NO in sikhi; but if our body requires it & it is being distributed via a professional, medical expert then its ok. we have a responcibility to our religion, but we also have a responcibility to our body which enables us to devote ourselves to our religion. suicide is't allowed in sikhism; well then letting yourself die of something which isn't inevitiable [ie Appendicitis ] can then also be classed as suicide,if you are aware of the situation but don't do anything about it. bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf aman singh veer, 'perception' is the core of this; there is always more then one way to look at / analyse every situation. example of the sahibzadey; on one hand death on the other saach khand. the problem is that we are often blind to the blessings we have been bestowed with & arn't able to look at the bigger picture - usually because we can't even make out the smaller, immediate picture. this also boils down to gurus bakshish. bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf dearest darshan paanji, i understand where u're comin from & to an extent it is true. BUT u've forgotten a key element 'piaar'; kirtan isn't exclusive to those with extrodinary voices. im not saying don't try to improve you voice & forget about singing in tune; these things are important but they don't outweigh the need for devotion & sincerety. doing kirtan is an extremely personal, individual thing. we should not compare ourselves to ppl who are many steps ahead of us & become discouraged, after all we all have to start somewhere. :wink: do ardas & just take it at your own pace (remember you won't be frowned upon for making mistakes, but smiled at for making an effort & trying your best.) bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf. i just take tunes out from tapes / cd's / mp3's. Giani Amolak SIngh Ji's kirtan is out of this world; especially his old stuff; he's mellowed out though over the years. Dharam Singh Zakhmi is another truely amazing raagi. this is very true; when i started i felt out of place because my voice isn't all that, but i just sing with my heart. thats the most important thing paanji! bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf. this is an open-shut case. there are sooooooo many references to reincarnation in SGGSJ. here are but a few; from 'jaap sahib' from 'Guru Nanak Dev Ji-Siree Raag 19' from 'Guru Nanak Dev Ji-Siree Raag 23' could it be any clearer? i could go on forever but i think this proves the point. in short; YES ; we beleive in reincarnation, its undisputable. bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf dear all, i have a real problem in staying in chardi kalaa; generally im quite an optimistic person but lately im feeling really down. im trying to concentrate on my paath & am doing simran / kirtan but its not pulling me out of this feeling of helplessness. :cry: i understand that the state of mind as well as the situation is all based on my karam & i have to bite the bullet & accept & deal with my obsticles, i just wish i didn't feel empty & alone. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf british documents reguarding similar activites have had a time lock on them for 50 years, this has been expired now so i should be able to go to the Public Records Office to go through the original artifacts - this is only if the time lock hasn't been extended to 75 years (the purpose of the time lock is to let the hostility / negativity pass between all persons involved.) i'll find out & get back to u. bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf life isn't an easy game; our bodies deteriorate as well as our minds; but we don't & shouldn't attempt to exercise any control in ending someones life. as steel bangle veer stated clearly & concisely; i know first hand that it isn't easy having seen relations pass after suffering many years of cancer / parkinson’s disease - my young cousin has had more operations then birthdays; she's in & out of great ormand street hospital. her road has been tough not just for her but for all the close family; but this all links back to karam, euthanasia is not an option.. nothing happens by accident... bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf i don't like the idea of stating a supremacy of doing simran in one way over another; prehaps my ignorance is my down fall but do any of my fellow brothers & sisters ever wonder even if in our time of doing simran that we ever said 'waheguru' correctly even once? :shock: not just the pronounciation but putting our soul into it, not letting it be an empty attempt? forgive me for going off the point, no offence intended to anyone. bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf

wjkk,wjkf i think that a lot of problems would be solved if we had one thing; 'unity' in believe as oppose to people/organisations distorting sikhi. though we are in a unfair position as the indian government has been funding & still funds institutions for this particular purpose; to divide & distort sikhi. we have always suffered attempts of supression in our history this is nothing new. education; its purpose is void if it is not truthful. this goes back to my first point of distorting sikhi. power hungry committee members - don't get me started; i amongst many others have suffered many conflicts of interests; their interest to fill their pockets, gain publicity / support / power / divide & rule; & the sangats for wanted to congregate & have youth programs. they are meant to be there for the good of the sangat, for the nuturing of future generations...politics...you may begin with good intentions but these never remain, everyones playing the same game. however the only thing that keeps me from getting depressed is that my hope & faith in Waheguru; all will be true, when the time is right. reguarding this, its happening slowely. the way is being paved example the first sardar (turbaned) singh to get into the highest british court. these routes are hard, especially for a person in sikhi roop. guru de kirpa de naal, all will happen in due course. bhul chuk maaf wjkk,wjkf
